Ridge was just OK. The atmosphere and decor are great. You can tell everyone in here is having a great time. There were probably 4/5 birthday celebrations happening while we were there for dinner. The waiters and staff are super kind and approachable and the food comes out QUICK, which is really where the two stars are coming from. But the food breaks my heart, given how much it breaks the bank. For 3 appetizers and two entrees we were looking at $200 per person, but the quality of the food didn't match. We tried a couple of appetizers such as the borekas and brisket gnocchi but they were so sweetly prepared, you couldn't taste the quality or flavor of the meat. Maybe their steaks are much better/ worth it (it is a steakhouse after all) The Google reviews are quite good (4.6/5) which led us here, but we didn't get that experience. read more

The Ridge is most definitely NOT the Ridge you would remember from years past. They moved, albeit just a few doors down, but the decor and menu has been given a complete refreshing modern face-lift. The decor and placing of key elements, like the bar, was really thoughtfully planned and executed. Round modern sleek bar in the center of the room so when the restaurant is closed off for an event, both sides of the expansive dining room has a beautifully appointed bar area to call their own. Chef Gus, is a celebrated chef not only graduating from a top culinary school but also working for some renowned kitchens earning his dues. He's passionate about elevating kosher cuisine to the next level, not just mirroring the trends of the elite chefs in the treif world but creating a true statement of his own. Sadly got there just in time before the kitchen was about to close so could only try a few appetizer items. The sous vide tongue was a tad salty but the texture of the meat was just insanely magical. The sauteed sweetbreads were a perfect light yet hearty dish. The crunchy brussel sprout leave segments were a nice nutty crunchy balance to the tender sweetbreads. The kale gnocchi...this is such a hit or miss for me because there are so many places that get this wrong. Dough is overworked so results are gunny and tacky, or there's too much liquid and it just falls apart with no body. Chef did a fantastic job of adding the kale to make it a vibrant green and also making sure that with the addition of the kale, it didn't impede on the structure or texture of the gnocchi itself. Delicately soft on the inside and nicely pan toasted on the outside for a subtle crunch. Accompanying it was a mix of succulent braised pulled beef and mixed mushrooms. The bbq pulled beef over twice fried plantain "chip" was a very nice combo of crunch and meaty goodness however suggested that the guacamole wasn't necessarily needed for the overall dish. We ended the night with their famous chocolate chip cookie and brownie baked in a mini cast iron pan. One of the other cool highlight of the night for me, was learning that the new co-owner is from Cape Town and makes authentic biltong in house!! Had a quick delicious sampling and it transported me back to my time living in suidafrika I'm very excited for this rejuvenated addition to the kosher restaurant roster and really looking forward to coming back try their other menu offerings like the braised oxtail, variety of charcuterie selections and their impressive tomahawk steak too. read more

Most likely the most mature kosher meat restaurant in the greater Monsey area. They did change the menu a bit, but still, they kept it small and classic. Here is what I like: Food is being served FAST. The place is never jammed packed. The waiters (all of them) know their stuff and make recommendations. They check on you during your meal but don't over do it. They did a complete makeover on the beverage menu. I'm upset that they removed some wine by the glass options. But they do have a better selection now. I like the wine menu that it is organized by "Reds,Whites and Rose" not by region. Again, the waiters can give you recommendations to pair wine with your food. Still has the full sushi menu. read more

Went out to celebrate a bday for one of our nieces .We were more than 10 pple We waited 20 min to be seated when we came on time. Finally the waitress took our order after waiting awhile. About an hr later some appetizers came out and some were left out :( After waiting some time finally the entrees came out except for 2 which came out after everyone was finished. We were very disappointed watching the chef yell at the staff and the manager running around and the waiters not really trained well. If you want to eat kosher, then it's worth your while. The meats are very good, and well prepared, and the vegetable and fried sides are also quite delicious. However, it's very overpriced, at least $75 per person. And the desserts are terrible. There's not much of a wine list. Finally, the staff all had colds and coughs. read more

This is a fine restaurant for glatt kosher standards. The only one that is better is ETC in Teaneck.nice ambiance. It is quite expensive for the portions but for a special night it its worth it. I probably won't return as it is out of the way but I recommend it regardless. read more

My wife and i went out to eat there tonight all i can say is very disappointing i ordered the 16oz steak ... it was cooked in a Precision Cooker ... so it had no grill flavor or taste it was horrible the vegetable side dish came out cold had to send it back and came back cold again ... and the french fries were RAW !!! when the manager went to chef Gustavo with my complaint his response was and i quote " that the stupidest thing i ever heard " the manager did come and apologize and agreed that the food was cold and Fries were raw he did say that they cook the Steaks in Precision cooker so they can serve it quicker all i can say is stay away i don't know if they had off night or what but i would not recommend read more

What a terrible meal we had. Had reservations but we weren't sat for over 1/2 hr and then waiting another half hour to have our orders taken. Then after all that waiting it took an hour to get out appetizers and then another hour to get our food. The restaurants was so hot with the thermostat saying 81 degrees. Restaurant decor is beautiful but employees, manager and chef need education on customer service. Made a reservation and had to wait an hour to be seated, waited another hour for service and another hour to receive our food. Never was there any explanation or apology. As pictured, a bug flew into my glass and it took me 20 minutes to get someone's attention for a new glass. One of the ppl in our party did not receive their appetizer while everyone was already being served mains. Once again, no explanation and no apology and never received it (but it was on the bill of course). Another picture shows the main I waited over an hour for. Other reviews say "innovative and artistic chef"? That was not the case tonight. If you think it couldn't get any worse, the holier than thou chef would come out of the kitchen every so often to scream in front of customers and go back in which really took away from the ambiance and enjoyment. His attitude definitely shows in his food. If you want to be made to feel like someone is doing you a favor by allowing you to eat at his restaurant then go to the ridge. Just returned from a terrific dinner. My son and I shared the gnocchi and the assorted (chicken, beef & lamb) dumplings to start followed by the short ribs for him and the chicken sausage for me. I went to the ridge with my family for my sons birthday. We came early and we were the only table occupied. The service was terrible. The waiting staff hung out behind the counter laughing with each other and using their phones. I had to wave at them to get their attention to get a glass of water. When I asked for a water refill, the waiter obnoxiously slammed a pitcher of water on the table. The food was mediocre but way over priced. Paying close to $50 for a steak that was nothing special. The sushi was just ok but nothing great. We asked to pack or leftovers to go and the waiter never gave them to us. I had left the restaurant and had to go back to get it. No one knew where it was. This is the most underrated kosher steakhouse in monsey. I've been to this restaurant too many times to count. Food was always superb. Love the sushi Pizza that was recently added to the menu. Beef udon soup is amazing and huge/a meal in itself. Steaks are always perfect love to take them with a side of yummy mushrooms. For dessert nothing beats the cookie souffle. read more

Went last night for dinner and was disappointed. Service was great but food wasn't . Ordered a Cesar salad and for the price plate had a few pieces of lettuce and even fewer kale. I ordered my main steak medium and it came nicely seared on outside but RAW in the complete inside as if it was frozen and barely thawed interior. The WORST sushi I've ever had (and I've had gas station sushi), at the MOST EXPENSIVE price ($7.50 for 6 flimsy, hard avocado/carrot rolls), with the RUDEST cashier (back turned, no 'hi', no 'thank you', no 'you're welcome'). Huge disappointment. Went online to make a reservation did not hear back. Called at 3pm and they said it was a good thing I called since the manager wasn't there and they took my reservation for 7pm. I show up at 7 there are 5 empty tables and 1 dirty one. I'm standing by the door and wait staff walk by with deer in headlights look. Finally ask one of them for a seat, telling them we have a reservation. They scurry around finally go over to someone eating already and tell them that they need to get up. Needless to say we left. Quite awkward to eat at a table after someone else was there, not much for ambiance. Food may be good but they have to get the service together first. read more

I met a friend at The Ridge the other day for lunch. The restaurant is located in a pretty depressing looking strip mall but, once inside, the decor is pleasant and dignified. My friend has a lot of dietary restrictions and the waitress was most accommodating and patient, substituting and omitting things from the dish so that my friend could safely eat it. I ordered a kani crab cake sandwich from the lunch special menu and a miso soup from the regular menu. My order came quickly and was delicious, beautifully presented and filling. The soup was not listed on my bill. When I pointed this out to the gentleman at the counter he said the soup came with the lunch special! read more

Superb customer service!!!! Amazing food!!! I've been here many times (with many returning non-kosher eating colleagues) and always come back. The food is simply delicious. (Make sure to order the spicy Edamame.) This night, I went with my wife. We ordered quite an expensive steak, which happened to be a special. It was grilled to perfection and smoked just perfectly. The flavor was outstanding and kept our mouths salivating. However, the particular piece of meat we got, was just not a good cut. The meat was tough and chewy. We told the waiter who was very understanding and brought the meat back to the kitchen. The GM came out and offered us 2 other steaks, which I must say were so tasty. The steaks were brought with a plate of side dishes (which we did not order) and a complimentary glass of wine. Then the Chef came out to apologize and let us know that sometimes there is just a bad cut of meat (which I've experienced in my own grilling as well). Totally not their fault and I didn't blame them. Too boot, after I left I noticed that they did not charge my credit card any of the 25% tip I had left. This customer service was so special, I will definitely continue to go there and tell my friends what a good place it was. It happens that you get a bad piece of meat. It doesn't happen that you get such good customer service. A GREAT PLACE WITH EVEN GREATER FOOD!!!!!! A must go for anybody in the Monsey area looking for good Kosher food. read more
