The service in this place is top notch. I have been here once before food and services is very consistent and amazing . I was surprised with our large group that the Service didn't take longer, but everything came out of the kitchen in a very timely manner. In New Jersey, you can bring your own alcohol to restaurants. Most restaurants do not serve alcohol. . We brought in several bottles of wine and the waiters automatically take them and get them put in either bottle chillers or sitting on the table. I've never had anything bad at this place. The food and the presentation is exceptional. The service from the whole staff is excellent. read more

Fino, one of Allendale's more synonymous names... and it knows so. It's one of the few places in which I'll begin by mentioning the service. It is genuinely very good, a recognizable level of professionalism and charisma that makes the experience all that much better for an easily impressed man such as myself. There's a waiter there whose name is clearly either Nick or Sal, leaning Sal... no backup to this, never asked and was never told. He clearly has a brother, father and mother. The brother took the name of his dad, but Sal... Sal is more like his dad even though he doesn't wanna be. Anyways, he puts on quite a performance out there so good stuff bud. The ambiance is small yet big, quiet yet loud. The trend of crowd was not discernible. A mixture and mangling of clowns, those who don't consider themselves clowns and those who consider themselves clowns but are actually not. Ages 5 to 105 if I were to trust my nearly fully blinded eyes. Menu items were plentiful and powerful. Had all of your classics and some very good remixes to classics. Like Chicken Parm +++. I got the Chicken Sorrentina, man of class, and came away impressed. I tried the Marsala, lobster rav, some veal. Everything was good. Mine was borderline great but probably more so very good. The lava cake was yummy as well. Can confirm - gave out an mmmm or two during the meal. You won't be blown away, so you don't have to worry about keeping your socks on. Price was reasonable so you don't have to worry about robbing the TD Bank down the street. If you are to rob the bank down the street, I bid the sincerest luck. I often believe the bank robbing era came and left too early. More people deserved a shot. All I needed was a chance.... While traveling through NJ, we were looking for a good meal. We came across this place by hunting on Yelp and our Nav system. Wow! What a find! The place was packed and yet they found us a table right away. The menu was full of wonderful classic Italian offerings and the prices very reasonable. Bread and olive oil arrived at the table as soon as we sat down. We started with a Caesar Salad that was plenty to share. We each ordered a different entree... chicken cacciatore, lobster ravioli and a linguine with seafood. Each dish was deliciously prepared and portions were plentiful. It is a BYOB restaurant and if you don't have your own bottle with you, there is a wine store directly across the street that you can run right over to! Best of all at this restaurant is the service... it was far above any we have experienced anywhere. The entire staff works like a team and show pride in what they do. OUTSTANDING! This used to be my go to place for Italian food. I put up with the snarkiness of the waiter because the food was good. This last time the chef oversalted my entree and when I mentioned it to the waiter he said I'm sorry. Not let ne take it back and have it remade. Had I not been with a group I would have asked to take it back. It I didn't want to make a big deal about it in front of my friends. I then ordered a cappuccino and he asked if I wanted extra salt. We got there...total chaos. Put our name in....at least an hour before we got seated....Please be honest, we would have gone some where else....then we got got someone else's check and after all this wait we must have had the smallest table ever made....people that arrived after us got their table before us...Someone said "a lot of tables for two and people that arrived after us got tables before us and bigger tables.....Wait staff good but slow...food delicious....but will never go back. Basic food with demeaning service. When I advocated for myself, I was gaslit. If you have any food allergies, they don't take them seriously or seem to care about that at this establishment; therefore, I don't recommend eating here. I had a bad and somewhat traumatic experience eating here because of their lack of care in addressing a food allergy. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in my life. I've also read other reviews regarding people having similar experiences to mine with a lack of care to those with allergies (this is a health issue). Food came out with other items in it that were not listed on the menu. Their "Olive oil" was tasteless and bland. Had never been to Fino before but know of it being a popular lunch place. Decided to try for dinner on a weekend with a few girlfriends. It was not overly busy for a weekend which was good and we were told we did not need to make reservations nor could they make them for under 6 people. Parking was pretty easy because you can park by the train station lot in the evening or the road up behind. Upon entering the first thing I noticed was how dark it seemed. It actually was so dark my friends and I had a hard time reading the menu and had to use the lights on our phone. I guess they're trying to set a vibe but they could've gone up a little in terms of the brightness there are decent amount of tables. This isn't a tiny place and the tables were not on top of each other which was nice. Our waiter was just ok. He didn't go through any of the specials although they were listed out on a separate sheet inside of the menu, but there were certain items that said "waiter will discuss" which he never did so I inquired. Also, he didn't bring us any wine glasses when we had three bottles that we brought, and didn't once refill our waters unless we asked. We ordered a few of the specials which included the almond crusted snapper, branzino in a lemon caper sauce, and then the seafood pasta. We enjoyed our dinners. The desserts however were the highlight. Once we were done, they brought a tray to the table so we could visually see everything. A lot of restaurants don't do this anymore but I think it helps to really see and get those tastebuds going. My group and I did feel the prices were hefty so when thinking of comparable restaurants in the area with the same style menu, they were above average in price. Overall 3.5 read more

As a regular my last visit was average at best. I'll chalk it up to it being a Monday night visit. Maybe the usual kitchen staff wasn't on duty. The service as always was fine and the restaurant was brightly lit as always. However the food was off. Both orders of the endive salad were drowning in dressing, my pork chop was dry and an order of chicken Albania was off as well. My networking group met here for our by weekly lunch and we had an amazing time. The restaurant is byob but less Than 20 steps away is a liquor store called "Allendale Wine Shoppe". Prices for lunch were very reasonable considering the menu and the amount of food. Chicken, veal, and seafood dishes for lunch include soup and salad and range from $15.95 to $17.95 in price which was excellent. There was approx ten of us in our party and the restaurant had a fairly large crowd of people for a mid week lunch and service did not suffer from it's our services were polite, friendly, and helpful. Our food was really amazing. Everyone loved every single dish that was served. I personally had the veal Marsala and it was GREAT! Not one complaint about food quality. Soup was a chicken vegetable soup, salad was the house salad or a small Cesar salad. I ordered a cappuccino at the end of our meal. Someone in our group is having a baby and we had a cake with us. They sliced the cake in the back for us and served everyone a slice. It was a truly amazing experience and I now I look forward to my networking group meeting there once every two weeks more than before. Thank you for a great meal and a great experience! read more

They accommodated 23 of us and we were able to order off the menu. The very good prices, the service was excellent, prompt and respectful. We have food allergies, and they were fantastic. They allowed us to bring in desert and we felt they would prepare our dinner safely. I thought the Chicken Cacciatore was one of the best I ever had. The other items worth mentioning, stuffed artichoke, fried calamari, short rib w/pasta. This was our first time here and we all know good BYOB Italian places in Bergen County. Our family and friends had dinner at Fino Christmas Eve. If I could give them 10 stars I would. They were totally booked, yet service was fabulous. We came here for my mother's birthday dinner, the inside of the restaurant isn't very big, nor does it have a sizable outside dining area unfortunately. Fortunately, the food was amazing! I had eggplant rollatini with thin spaghetti that was so flavorful and phenomenal, I actually want to come all the way back there again. The servers were very accommodating, especially since eggplant rollatini was listed as an appetizer, not a meal, but they said it was no trouble at all to make it one. Remarkably, he told us that there was nothing that could be done about it. We only saw ANY waiters when we ordered and when they brought the food--that was it. The service was very subpar. I called the next day to let the manager know what had gone on. Rather incredibly, he said that, yes, there was nothing that the waiter could have done under the circumstances.
