Although both sandwiches were barely warm -- almost to the point where my husband was considering sending it back to the kitchen. He did not as he didn't want to wait for another sandwich to be brought out. The hand-cut French fries were very good. The coleslaw was okay -- certainly not the best I've had, but far from the worst. They also brought out two types of classic complimentary pickles for the table. Again, they were just okay -- I've definitely had better. One thing to note: the classic half sandwich & cup of soup combo comes with fries, but if you order just a classic sandwich, it does not come with fries, both priced at $17.99. My husband got the cup of lentil soup, which he enjoyed. I ordered the potato salad as a side dish, it was very vinegar-heavy and not really to my taste. I ended up bringing it home and doctoring it up, which made it much better. They had good deli mustard on the table, I asked for Russian dressing since I like that on my pastrami sandwich -- that was good. And of course, you've for to have a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray or any one of the other Dr Brown flavors. All in all, we enjoyed our lunch. Between the food, the service, and the fact that the place is dated, I'd give it a 3 1/2 stars overall. Free on-site parking is a big parking lot as there are several other stores right in the plaza. I wanted to note that this Deli is dairy free. So no chocolate milk, but you can get a classic egg cream.

This isn't a fancy place--they close early, there are no white tablecloths, no wine list, and the décor leans toward gray veneer booths with red seats. But that's exactly the point. You come here for the food, not the frills. The pickles were outstanding--crisp, flavorful, and the kind you keep reaching for between bites. We both had pastrami on fresh, soft rye with great mustard, and it hit the spot completely. The fries were just right too--crispy overall with those smaller, extra-crunchy pieces mixed in. There's something really satisfying about a place like this. Simple, honest food done well. After a full day of work, it made for a relaxed and genuinely enjoyable date night. We'll definitely be back.

The scallion pancake was mmm--mmm good! The addition of cooked scallions to the pancake batter meant there were mildly crunchy scallions combined in pancake soft batter. We gobbled it up. It came with soy sauce but the pancake didn't really need a sauce. The kimchi was crunchy and spicy. The egg drop soup was yummy. The bibimbap was large enough for 2 to share. The combination of beef on rice with an array of thinly sliced vegetables was delicious. The next day on the 5-hour plane ride home, we took out our sandwiches. As we were eating them we congratulated ourselves on how smart we were to pack delicious, hearty sandwiches. We don't know why Pomona Kosher Grill isn't packed with customers! The food is excellent!

We got the opportunity today while driving to Vermont from Maryland. We went a tiny bit out of the way. Great food. My spouse and I split a bulgogi sandwich, a cabbage/potato pancake, and an 8-piece order of Korean chicken strips and fries. Too much food for us to eat. We took some home and I ate the rest in our hotel. Bulgogi sandwich was delicious. Thin sliced beef, Asian seasonings, fresh roll. Loved it. Pancake was like an omelette or potato cake. Fresh and delicious. With a delicious dipping sauce. Chicken strips were yummy, fresh, crisp. I had always read about Korean fried chicken and wanted to try it, this was my chance. Definitely enjoyable and delicious, but not the totally new level that I had been imagining. Just goes to show you it's not a burden to keep kosher, you're missing out but not too much. Location was great for us, traveling south to north. I had never been to Pomona/ Monsey. Easy parking in a nondescript strip shopping center. Atmosphere was spartan. Apparently this business started during Covid and a few months ago moved to the current location. Plain, simple, clean, but zero atmosphere. Don't take a date here for romance. Bring a buddy for great food. Service was good. Server Yisroel was charming, relaxed, friendly (we were the only customers when we entered) and we enjoyed being served by him. Value was a bit expensive. We did not order drinks. We paid $63 including tax and tip, a bit pricey for two. I would definitely return because the food was really good. Scores: food 5, atmosphere 3, service 5, location 4, value 3, for an overall score of 4.

We felt the hot dogs were rubbery in texture, and they tasted like they were reheated. The matzoh ball soup was bland. My mother enjoyed her pastrami sandwich. As far as atmosphere goes, the first table we sat at was wobbly. and when we transfered to the other, we found the table and season shakers to be sticky. The greatest disappointment was not the mediocre food, or the sticky table but what we witnessed. An elderly couple was sitting at the other table. The gentleman asked a server, possibly the owner or manager, for a glass of tap water. The response from the server was, "We don't have glasses of water here, but you can buy a bottle and I'll bring your two cups." We found this to be uncourteous and unwelcoming, and we felt a little embarassed for the nice couple. It seems that when a nice couple comes in to patronize your restaurant, and purchase a lunch, a little water would not be an unreasonable request. Any restaurant that treats elderly people this way will not receive my future business.

Let me start out by saying the Orthodox Jewish Community can be a bit intense in attitude especially if your not Orthodox., so when ordering here can seen like the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld. Especially if you've never had middle eastern kosher food before walking in here. If you have a little knowledge about Shwarma and Falafels you will be able to get by here. There was a shift change while I was here and if you need help asking any questions on what to order without feeling awkward ask for Yacov with the Big Yalmaka (skull cap). He is a younger and loves to talk to everyone. He saved it from being a 3 star bad service to a 4 star cool service and almost made it a 5 star because he needs to move his hands while he talks to you cause it slows down other orders. Ok, now that we rated the service, parking can be crazey here especially if your handicap as it's in a crowded small mini mall, this place only has one small unisex smelly bathroom and a smaller set up with about a dozen tables which makes it good for a to go business. Now for the food, I'ld like to thank them for keeping it strictly kosher, especially with a hand washing sink and a plastic covered Birkat Hamazon (prayer for grace after meals). The food was amazingly good, especially after eating at hundreds of kosher restaurants where the food was bland and something wasn't right, this place was spot on for each item we ordered to the point of ordering a second round to take home. We started with the Chicken and Lamb Shwarma on a pita with Humus and Israeli salad with sweet potato and rice side order with an Egg Roll on the side, we took home a Falafel and Hamburger and were so happy with the food we put this on our must go to place every time we come into Monsey. The delicious food will make you forget about the uncomfortable ordering situation and make you want to sing and dance with joy! Come here to try this adventure!
