Terrible experience with the owner of the salon, she was rude and mean to me. I had an appointment at 9.30 and I came on time with the kids, sat on the chairs as my hair stylist was late but said will be there in 5 minutes. We were quiet and nice, kids went to take a candy twice and then she became furious and told me to take kids outside, just because they took candy, but started saying it dangerous, your kids not allowed being here, wait outside and then she called my stylist and told us to leave because I didn't want to take little kids on the heat and where's cars driving around non stop - this is dangerous! I feel discriminated, my kids was quiet and sitting nicely waiting for the stylist who was late on 30 minutes. After all and waiting for the stylist, my kids wasn't allowed to get haircuts there and we had to leave. I know she's going to respond this message and protect herself and her business but she was rude, she also has kids but was terrible with clients kids. Updating because I got threatened with the court if I don't delete this review, but this is honest review of what happened to me and my kids, that's what I felt because of the way she was talking to me that day. read more

Third time's a charm! Wish I would have found this salon and Brandee earlier would have saved me a lot of grief! The platinum blonde highlights the undertones turned out fantastically! Went to two other salons, showed pictures but they, couldn't get it right! This was not the "right hair salon" for me. I have been looking for a good salon to get a decent haircut. I figured I give this place a chance. For the amount of $85 dollars, what can go wrong. I had my hair washed and styled. I didn't even get the blow dry which is included with a haircut. I was very disappointed with the cut and saw nothing spectacular for the price of $85 ,which I have to save for weeks to splurge on a nice haircut every 6 months. I should of just gone to Supercuts. Maybe I was given the wrong stylist. On a positive note, the receptionist was awesome! I came here for the first time last week to get a keratin treatment. I was blessed right from the start with the most amazing service by Clara! She ended up being my stylist & really made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process given it was my first time. She's super informative and full of helpful daily tips that I didn't even know I needed - I felt in great hands! The salon itself is super adorable and accommodating they offer complimentary drinks and the option to purchase products as well. After the 3 day hair waiting period for the keratin to really absorb I washed my hair and I cannot stress how happy I am with my hair!!! I liked what he had to say and decided to have him cut my hair. He gave me an amazing cut with not much to work with. Scheduled an appointment with him for March 10 to highlight my hair and provide depth to it. I could not believe the gorgeous highlights and depth of color to my hair. I love it, love it. Return Customer Mori is my stylist. She is great at both cut & color. She has a passion for what she does. To be honest, the color procedures go over my head and it's too much for my brain to comprehend but by the time I get cut and color, it's about $160-$180 with 20% tip. Because it's a little to rich for my blood, I try to prolong my visits as long as possible in order to save some money. The salon has a great hot beverages machine that dispenses coffee/hot chocolate and more. They used to give out an assortment of snacks while getting ones hair done but I think now it's down to: licorice and a small jar of chocolate. I understand those are all overhead expenses and replenishing that stuff gets costly. But it's nice to have munchies while sitting their for a couple of hours. read more

I made an appointment with Mori, per Yelp reviews, to have my hair highlighted while visiting my parents. I confirmed the cost for a Full head Highlight both online and when I called for my appointment. When I went in, I explained what I wanted to have done in the highlights. The only variation being that I wanted heavier highlights in the underside of my hair to blend the colors together, yet lighter highlights on the top roots, to gradually grow the color. She immediately began to lecture me as though I've not been coloring my hair for 17 years already. I was told the receptionist was not qualified to give me a cost quote over the phone so the rate would be higher, yet Mori could not confirm the cost until after finishing; even though she was looking at my hair at the moment. She then began to explain to me what balyage is (while mispronouncing it), as though this is a brand new technique far too elevated for my level of intelligence, and insisting in addition to highlights and balyage, I would need a "root bump" to blend the colors. Ultimately, I left. I could tell that I was being upcharged arbitrarily, and quite honestly if I'm going to pay more for my hair color, I'll go to a reliable salon where quoted costs are honored and the stylists inspire confidence in their abilities rather than anxiety. I can't speak to Mori's talent as a colorist, but I can speak to her sales technique, and customer service skills, which leave much to be desired. Any marketing this salon has done to encourage new customers is useless-- seemingly a bait and hook to get them in the door, only to deny what was promised. read more

My 8 year old daughter wanted a much shorter haircut and I was nervous about getting a bad cut so took a chance on this place when an appointment I'd made elsewhere fell through. We got Riri who was lovely. I had a couple of photo examples of the cut we wanted and she just went for it and did a great job. Jan has been taking care of my hair for almost a year now and she has done a great job every time I see her. Jan just moved to the right hair and it's further for me but I don't think twice about making the drive for her. I have thick hair which has its own mind but she is able to cut it so that it behaves. She listens to what I want and the cut is always perfect. I have grey and black hair and although I don't like the harshness of my color I didn't want the regular work entailed in covering the grey with color. Jan gives me subtle highlights which soften the color but I don't have to worry about roots. She is amazing and I can't recommend her highly enough. I've been going to The Right Hair since it opened in Ladera. It is an elegant-yet-comfortable salon. They don't overbook, like a lot of other salons and really respect your time. They really know color and give great cuts. I used to dread when it was time to get my hair done. Now it is like a mini-vacation, without having to venture out more than a mile from home. I'll have to write this on behalf of my five year old daughter. We were finally in need of a regular place to take our little girl... now that we've gone a few times it's safe to say we'll continue visiting The Right Hair. Since we roll a bit spontaneous with her hair cuts we've had three different stylists over four visits. That said, each time the cut has been quality, cost is reasonable, little girl beaming and yes - mom (not a Yelper) always has great things to say. For me, as a dad, these are all I can ask for. Would I recommend them? Mos def. They've been very kind each time we've been there, customer service is friendly and the vibe is always good. Done and done - makes life just a tad better when it's that easy AND local! UPDATE... I finally went for my first haircut there. I have a big shaggy mess that I have to deal with. This was my first time here and I was so nervous to try a new place, but we had just moved to the area so I figured I would give it a shot. I had had brunette hair for the last year but had started the process to go back blonde and really wanted to try to go blonder and try a vey mild natural ombré. Again, I was also very nervous about this because I don't like most ombrés. So I called and asked the receptionist to book me with their best colorist and someone who knew color corrections and ombrés. They booked me with Melody.
