Great hairstylist, got a strand of my hair as a "raccoon tail" and got a small trim. It was a great experience and they offered snacks and drinks during the process. They gave a full wash as well after the bleach and dyeing on the strand which was great. The stylist was nice and gave tips on how my hair could look best especially with the hairstyle. I'd first learned about Minjoo about 8 years ago when I searched for "digital perm" on Yelp. I've gotten 3 digital perms from her since then, and my latest from 2 weeks ago is the best one yet! Even right after she finished, the woman sitting next to me commented on how natural it looked. The next day while I was at church, an older uncle said that my hair looked very pretty, and even told my husband later on! This past weekend, someone asked if this was my natural hair, and I said no, it's a perm- and she said it looked so natural. This is the first time I've gotten so many compliments on a perm in my life! I know that it will look even more amazing when the curls relax more. Minjoo definitely knows what she is doing. My hair is thinning so she suggested tighter curls at the top, which blended nicely with the bottom curls especially since she added layers throughout. I am absolutely in love with my digital perm! I was initially anxious because I've never had anything done to my hair, but Minjoo was so nice and made the process easy! After listening to what I wanted and going through some inspo pics, she recommended bigger but tighter curls and layers for volume. Since my hair is long, the process took about 4 hours but she offered snacks and water. She checked in frequently to make sure I was comfortable and that the rollers weren't too hot. It can look a little crazy after the rollers come out, but just need to trust the process. At one point, I was concerned that the curls had turned out a lot tighter than I wanted... but Minjoo truly knows what she's doing. Not only did she execute my vision, it was better than I imagined. Really loved how my hair turned out, I was growing out my bangs to get them realigned/fixed and put some layers into my hair. After not doing much to my hair throughout the pandemic, I decided it needed a little literal lift, so scheduled a root perm with Minjoo. When I came in for my appointment, she also recommended a digital perm to go along with the root perm, so I went for it. Very happy with how my fine, lifeless hair turned out. I've gotten digital perms in the past, but never with a root perm. She did the digital perm first, which took about 2 hours, then the root perm which took another hour. It came out to a total of $300 for both. Then she also does a little clean up trim at the end to make sure everything looks blended and cohesive. This review is for a haircut. My hair is thick and I'm proud of it. I'm writing 7 months later as I struggle to grow out the thickness of hair that this lady hacked away. I don't know the name of the stylist but from the second I walked in, she didn't listen to what I wanted in a haircut. She claimed she had a vision for my hair and started hacking away with thinning scissors even though I told her specifically I didn't want my hair thinned out. I try to judge a haircut after a couple of weeks of washing and styling. Well it has been 7 months of poor self esteem due to a poorly done haircut. She over thinned it out. Cut it too short. The right side was heavily thinned out more than the left. The left side was way longer than the right. I went to a different salon to ask for help to fix my hair and they couldn't really fix it completely until more of my hair grows out. I guess I'll suffer another 4-6 months until my hair can grow back and then I'll avoid this place like the plague. read more
