Melody was amazing from the start! She didn't have my desired appointment time available, but quickly provided options based on my preference. The communication didn't stop there prior to me stepping foot in the door she asked to see photos of my hair and asked what I was looking for. Once I arrived she was super friendly. Offered water, champagne, coffee. What I appreciated about her was her attention to detail and the education throughout the process. She made sure she understood what I was looking before she got started. Which is really nice if you've ever had a bad experience, you know. Mel did multiple cross checks to ensure the length was even. She provided me tips on styling my hair, showed me what products she used. Update- I appreciate that the owner of the salon said that she tried to reach out to me. Unfortunately, I don't have any missed calls from an unknown number nor do I have any voicemails from anyone at the salon. Also, this was not a simple "miscommunication". I specifically said many times at the beginning of the appointment that I only wanted green or grey toned products and no blue or purple additives to any of the products put in my hair. I said that it would make my hair turn, reddish, and only green or gray would give it the ashy color I wanted. When I reminded my stylist of this after she colored my hair, she replied that she did not put blue or purple, she "only put violet". That is not a miscommunication. That is a direct contradiction of what I asked for. And considering I was publicly humiliated and physically escorted out of the salon, there was really not an opening for me to handle this matter privately. Luckily, I went to a different salon yesterday and after six hours and $600, they were able to fix my hair. This whole ordeal has been an absolute disaster. Shame on anyone for trying to place the blame back on me. Original post - I waited a day before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I was being fair and factual. I understand that mistakes can happen in hair color, and I truly did not want to negatively impact anyone's livelihood. In fact, if the situation had ended professionally, I likely would not have written this review at all. However, the way I was treated at the end of the appointment left me extremely upset and uncomfortable. Before my appointment, I very specifically explained the color I wanted: a very cool, natural mushroom brown with subtle highlights. I also clearly stated multiple times that I cannot use blue, purple, or violet-based toners or dyes because they pull extremely orange/red on my hair. I explained that I only do well with neutral, green, or grey-based tones. After the color was processed and shampooed out, the stylist informed me that she had used a violet-based formula, the exact type of tone I had specifically asked her not to use. When I reminded her that I had repeatedly said no blue or purple tones, she responded, "I didn't put blue or purple, I put violet," which was frustrating because violet is still within that same color family I had explicitly asked to avoid. To her credit, she did spend time trying to correct the color, and I appreciate that effort. Unfortunately, the correction did not resolve the issue, and the final result was significantly warmer/redder than what I requested. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward with the haircut or full blowout because I had lost confidence in the consultation and communication process. I left with wet hair and planned to speak with the owner about what would be a fair price, especially since not all services were completed and I now have to pay for corrective color elsewhere before an upcoming trip. What upset me most was what happened at checkout. While I was calmly explaining that I wanted to discuss pricing with the owner and still believed the stylist should be compensated for her time and effort, the stylist suddenly raised her voice in front of multiple people, told me to leave, and accused me of intentionally trying to get free services. I was shocked and embarrassed. Up until that moment, although we clearly disagreed, the interaction had remained cordial. I never asked for free services. I simply did not feel comfortable paying full price for incomplete services and a color result that directly contradicted the instructions I gave during consultation. Again, I understand that color corrections and miscommunications can happen in this industry. What made this experience so upsetting was not just the color outcome, but the breakdown in professionalism and the public accusation that I was trying to "steal" services. I am now scrambling before my trip trying to get my hair color corrected. I wanted to leave this review to warn others, not to get this stylist in trouble. But she has to know, its not okay to shame customers when they question services or payment. What a huge disappointment. I am attaching a picture of what I asked for, and what I received. read more

I went for a training session for a root covering and my stylist was Natalie. She took direction from the owner/instructor very well and did a great job. Sweet girl and I'm sure she'll be great when she's working on her own! ETA: the hair stylist's dad came while I was in the chair with the product on my hair. Bad experience. My usual stylist was unavailable so I called this place requesting a men's haircut. I requested an experienced stylist who could do scissor over comb men's cut. I've been getting that cut for over 10 years (currently- Joy @ Ahrittaum). Also, scissor over comb weeds out the inexperienced stylists. Reception informed me that "Nancy" could do the job. I showed up early and sat in Nancy's chair. She asked how I wanted my haircut and I informed her scissor over comb. She said my hair was too short for her to do that cut. She described doing some "Supercuts", shear the side of my head thing. I told her that would not work as I've been having my haircut this way for 10 plus years. She got angry and aggressively ripped the snaps from the gown and pulled it off me. She told me to go someplace else. I quietly got up and walked away. As I was walking away, I could hear Nancy complaining about me to one of the others stylists. I just kept walking. I realize that customer service is in steep decline, but good paying customers should not be confronted with angry outbursts and disrespect from employees who can't do their job. read more

I'm so happy I found this salon and Courtney is literally the best. She's so sweet and talkative, makes you feel so comfortable and honors absolutely every request you make. She is so collaborative and really works with you on how you'd like your hair to look, checks in a lot throughout the process and most importantly she did NOT cut off any more hair than I wanted her to!!!
