    Seafood trio

If you're visiting Whistler, do yourself a favor and leave the village for one night -- absolutely worth it! Such a fun experience with incredible food from start to finish. We did the tasting menu and every course was amazing: lobster bisque, perfectly cooked sea scallops, a delicious seafood trio, filet, crème brûlée, and toffee cake. Everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The service and atmosphere made the evening even better. Definitely one of our favorite meals in the Whistler area!

Mushroom risotto, seafood trio and halibut entree. Also enjoyed the Old Fashioned.

Visiting Whistler for first time. Chose the Rimrock Cafe based on online ratings. Glad we did! Service was great. Sarah was fantastic. We started with lobster bisque and salads. They allow you to do half of each. The soup was as good as I've had and the mushroom salad was delicious. We then shared a half seafood appetizer. I really enjoyed the seared tuna and my wife loved the salmon. For main course she had the halibut which was very tasty. I had the seafood trio which was very good. We also got a side of the mushroom risotto. Every bite was very nice. We finished with 2 half desserts. The chocolate ganache almond cake and their signature sticky toffee pudding. Perfect way to end an excellent meal. Sarah even took the time to make a list of hikes and things we should see before we leave. Highly recommend!

First time being in Canada, came here for a work function. My partner was looking for a nice dinner restaurant, after doing research and reading reviews. This was his top pick. The place is nice and music was great. Our server was phenomenal and went above and beyond. He explained his faves on the menu. The way he described each item. Our friends and I couldn't decide what to get. I went with the lobster bisque (omg, lobster bisque out of this world, server said it was made from scratch. If you like lobster bisque you have to get it.), seared scallops, filet mignon and sticky toffee pudding. Best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had. Just make sure you save room for dessert. Hands down the best place to eat and I give it 10/10. I can't wait to come back again, the food was delicious. If you are deciding on the place, chose this one. You won't be disappointed at all. I really want to go back again and try other items on the menu. Most definitely making a trip back to Whistler.

We had an amazing evening at our favorite restaurant. The Rimrock Cafe never disappoints. The restaurant is warm and cozy, and the service is prompt, knowledgeable and welcoming. As one of our group summarized, "the Rimrock last night was out of this world!" Each dish was superb - we loved the appetizers: ceviche, spiced cauliflower, warm chèvre, and seared foie gras. Our entrees were incredible: wild salmon, roasted duck breast, ribeye and venison striploin. We shared sticky toffee pudding and the pecan tart for dessert. It was a delicious dinner and memorable evening! Fabulous!

I have been wanting to come to this restaurant that the local love for a very long time. It is located closer to Creekside so requires a drive from Whistler village. We had the opportunity to try it out during the fall special. The lobster bisque has a few lovely chucks of lobsters in it.. The ceviche was a fine balance between a lot of yummy seafood with a crispy tostada. Loved the Seafood trio. All three item have its own sauce that matches with the seafood. Lastly, the waiter was so good. So professional, personable, and knowledgeable. The place is quite cute and low key. We were by a fireplace... so lovely. The front entrance where the waiting area is also so cozy. Full of plants! Will definitely be back.

Reservations: Easy to make online! Make sure to book ahead of time Location: Tucked right off the highway, easy to get to if you're driving or taking a taxi. Only a few minutes from Whistler Village, but not walkable. Service: Exceptional! Very attentive, from check-in to wait staff and everyone in between. The courses were spaced out perfectly so we did not feel rushed and we had time to enjoy each dish as it came. Ambiance: Warm and quaint inside, plenty of seating. Tables are spaced nicely as to not feel too crowded. The fire was lovely and added to the rustic feel. What we ordered: DRINKS -- 1902 (Diplomatico Reserva 12 Year Rum, Angostura Bitters, Lime Coca Cola Foam) --Ruby Revenge (Port-Barrel-Aged Wallflower Gin, Limoncello, House-Made Rhubarb Cordial, Sparkling Wine) Both cocktails were delicious and tasted high quality. The flavors played well together and I loved the unique ingredients! FOOD We both had the 3-course Fall Special: Bread basket with butter-- I was partial to the freshly baked focaccia, but the baguette was nice as well **Lobster Bisque-- absolutely phenomenal. The lobster was fresh and flavorful, but not fishy at all. The texture was incredible, thinner than some other bisques which lent itself well to the dish as an appetizer. **Seafood Antipasto-- each of the four bite size features were unique and packed with flavor. My favorite was the stunning salmon tartare, but the albacore poke with sesame crisp, poached prawn, and smoked halibut brandade were all wonderful. **Seared Scallops-- cooked perfectly, highly recommend Mains: Rimrock Seafood Trio-- the seasonal preparation included salmon, prawns, and Tuna. Each of them were delicious and a generous portion. Roasted BC Halibut-- this melted in my mouth, great flavors that highlighted the fish Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding-- we had to try this dessert staple of Rimrock and we were not disappointed at all. Pillowy and sweet, it was the cherry on top of an exceptional meal!

What an amazing discovery during our girl's weekend. Found on Yelp, truly one of the best dining experiences. The restaurant is a casual lodge vibe fun for a date or even a small birthday gathering. Service very friendly and attentive. Every dish was delicious. My favorite was the lamb on the mixed grill plate. The halibut special was also cooked and seasoned perfectly as was the accompanying risotto. Sticky Toffee Pudding is also an absolute must. Will definitely be back!

We have been to Rimrock a few times and this restaurant never fails to impress. The service and ambience are very upscale and our last dinner was no exception. We sat at the bar, which is a very unique and fun experience in itself. Adam was the nicest and most engaging bartender and we truly enjoyed chatting with him throughout the evening. We started with the oysters, which were very fresh, then moved onto the delicious Seared Scallops. But the real showstopper for me was the Lions Mane Steak and Frites. Wow, wow, wow! Every bite was a flavor explosion in my mouth. I've never truly experienced mushrooms in a way where I felt that I didn't miss any steak, but this was that dish. The treatment, seasoning, and sauces were so spot on that I truly had to savor every bite. We ended the meal with the Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart, which was to die for.

It's been a while since I've had such a pleasant experience dining out in Whistler. The Rimrock Cafe is exceptional, especially during the warmer seasons, when you get to dine on their patio. The service was outstanding and the food just tasted that much better when you're not in the gloom and doom of the wintertime. Despite having come under new ownership recently, the experience still remains solid and warrants a visit. 100% recommend to check them out, their specials, and most importantly their outdoor dining patio. Portions are generous you will not leave wanting for more. Also, special kudos to our waiter who recommended an excellent wine pairing with our meal!

As we headed to Whistler after work on a Friday, our first meal was dinner. And it is none other than one of my favourite Whistler restaurants, Rim Rock Cafe. Our meal included: Halibut, Mussels, Caesar Salad, Spiced Cauliflower, Rib Eye Steak, Mushroom Risotto (not pictured), Sticky Toffee Pudding, and a bottle of the Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris (not pictured). My entree was the Halibut and it was heaven-in-your-mouth perfection.. one of the best halibuts I've ever had. Although it's about a third of the size since I had the halibut 6 years ago, and with a much higher price point. I guess the cost of seafood has increased that significantly over the years. My appetizer were the Mussels and it was amazing. I probably ate the remaining of the bread at the table just dipping it in the broth because it was SO GOOD. Had to make sure I savoured every last bite. Finished off the meal with their infamous Sticky Toffee Pudding. Just as good as I remember. Didn't get the best picture of it cause I already devoured part of it without thinking, not realizing I hadn't taken a picture yet. Foodie fail! Overall a delicious meal! A great start to our Whistler getaway.

The inside looked very cool in a completely different way. It was cozy but modern, not in a rustic way. I can imagine how nice it would be in winter! 2. Food & Drink: literally no notes. Love how the cocktails are organized by flavor profile. My husband and I loved what we ordered. We also loved all the food we ordered, but the seafood tower is a must have, as well as the chocolate lava cake! 3. Service: top notch! Their geoduck and clam pasts tasted okay but the serving size was laughably small, 2 large bites to perhaps 4 small bites at best. The worst thing was the overcooked geoduck, they're basically large clams and anyone who's cooked and eaten clams will know that overcooked clams turn rubbery and the few bits of geoduck were as rubbery as a rubber duck. The same applies to their Roasted Ling Cod, unless you enjoy overcooked ling cod, avoid at all costs. Amongst our group we ordered 3 New Your Steaks, we ordered medium rare, to their credit they were all cooked a perfect medium rare. Trouble was they were all way over salted. Too much salt to make them enjoyable, frankly I've had much better steaks at Denny's. As part of their prix fixe menu they had smoked black cod which I normally enjoy. Here they mashed the black cod into a chip dip which they served with their house made potato chips, While the dip was okay as far as taste goes, the chips they served last week on Wednesday night were all stale, not yet rancid but definitely stale. If the manager is reading this, I suggest he take a few and taste them himself. Prices weren't out of line since this is a resort area and restaurant pretty much can count on a "captive" clientele. However value wise this place should not be anywhere near the top of your go-to list.

Service was impeccable throughout our visit. My rating does not reflect the quality of service we received. Water was always full, servers constantly checked in. If I had just the smallest thing to nitpick, it would be that our server didn't recommend any particular dishes - only saying that everything on the menu is great. We ordered the following dishes: Country Game Terrine, Red Deer Venison, and Five Spice Duck. Everything was just okay. 2.5 star experience. The venison was my favorite but it didn't wow me, just cooked well with a decent portion size. The five spice duck would have been much better with a sauce to bring the ingredients together, overall the dish was just a lot of sweet, with the duck breast on the tougher side. Unfortunately we won't be back. I think this restaurant has been resting on its laurels for too long. For the price there are better options in Whistler.

The restaurant has an upscale rustic ambiance that feels both elegant and cozy. We were lucky enough to be seated right in front of the beautiful stone fireplace, which created the perfect atmosphere without being uncomfortably warm. To start, we ordered the Tomato Gin Soup, which is prepared tableside. Watching it come together with mushrooms, our choice of duck confit, and Blackcomb Gin flambéed right at the table made for a fun presentation. The soup was rich, flavorful, and the tableside preparation added a memorable touch to the meal. For our main course, we shared the 30oz Prime T-bone steak with Honey Glazed Rainbow Carrots and potato purée. The steak was cooked perfectly--tender, juicy, and so buttery it practically melted in our mouths. It was served with a side of finishing salt for dipping, which really enhanced each bite. The honey-glazed carrots were delicious, but the real standout was the carrot top gremolata, which added a bright, fresh contrast to the sweetness. The potato purée was silky smooth, creamy, and seasoned perfectly. From the impeccable service to the outstanding food and warm atmosphere, every part of our evening exceeded expectations. Easily one of the best meals we've had in recent memory, and we'd highly recommend the Grill Room to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Whistler.
