This was my first time coming and I would definitely come back again. The room had great air conditioning and was a good size. I had an ocean/pool view with a hot tub on the balcony. The food was good and the cafe deli was my favorite spot. (mocha latte - FIRE) The best part of the entire trip was the staff. They are all very polite and attentive. They will make you feel like family. A special shout out to the pool staff Diana , Luna and Sebastian. They did such a good job creating a fun environment out by the pool. I thought it was so cool that they play a lot of the activities with you. (Volleyball , Ping Pong) They made my trip 10x better. The bar staff Sergio , Guillermo and Ramon were also great!! I went on this trip solo and left with a lot of new friends! 10/10 would recommend

Everything else was a joke. The food (if you got a reservation.) was horrible. Nothing was seasoned/tasted right. They had advertised fresh sushi daily under one of their huts and nope. The hamburgers under the hut was literally so burnt and thin that my daughter gagged when taking her first bite. The bathroom shower NEVER DRAINED so water was EVERYWHERE. the toilet rooms smelled like damp rags and they gave us such a hard time ordering more towels for their wet floors! When walking around the pools people were CONSTANTLY tripping and falling. And all around the pools there was cockroaches, and birds.

Do not let them ROB you at the counter! Here is what they did to me. I arrived to check-in, and the worker said my card was "denied." I tell him I purchased through Priceline and I see the money taken from my bank statement, as well as my processed reservation. He says my card associated with my reservation declined, and that he needs to charge another card. I show him AGAIN that my bank was charged, and my bank account has plenty of money. He tells me that my card was denied, and I ask him for the last 4 digits of the card he's talking about. Those are not the last 4 digits of ANY card I own. So I tell him he must be looking at someone else's reservation. Even the reservation number was different. This was OBVIOUSLY not my reservation he was looking at. He was rushing and being sloppy because the check-in line was long. He continues to claim my card was denied, and refused to check me in without running another card. I give him another card and keep a receipt. I called Priceline and they had no idea why Mayan Monkey said a card declined, because it showed as confirmed and processed on their end. This guy clearly made an error when looking up my reservation. The last day of my stay at check-out, I go to the counter. It's a new guy, ULISES MONTANO, and when checking me out, he sees that they charged me TWICE! He pulls up my Priceline reservation that was already paid for (which the first guy did not see), and he sees that I was charged separately. I was right all along. My initial reservation was paid for. He tells me they can process a refund, but since there's a long line of people waiting to check-in, he asks that I fill out a form and he'll have the office process it another time so he can check other people in. I agree, and follow up with him via email. I have been emailing Ulises Montano for MONTHS and they still never refunded my stay. Again, I was charged TWICE and they still have not refunded me. These people are thieves, and I think they are pocketing the second transaction. Stay somewhere else. The last email I got from Ulysses was December 19th, 2023. It is now July 16, 2024. I am attaching his last email. I responded that SAME DAY with my bank details for the wire transfer for my refund. I have not heard back, and I never received the wire. I think he took my bank information for fraud. I have sent him almost 10 emails since. No response. I also attached info@mayanmonkey.com, and no response still. I would give a higher rating if it weren't for this major inconvenience and lack of financial integrity. This one thing completely ruined the experience. I'm willing to give an updated review considering the things I liked once this is resolved, if it's ever resolved, but for now, it's a 1 star. I cannot reward robbery.

Along with that it is also very clean and comfortable with included breakfast, pool, swing chair and hammocks in the outside communal area, a big balcony with beautiful views in the morning/sunset. Besides all that, the staff is very friendly and professional (Sergio, Angelo, Silvia, Neto, Esperanza, Kevin). The owner, Benoit, is the very kind and the warmest host anyone can ask for. It is a "dive friendly" hostel but don't let that confuse you, the place offers a ton of activities and if you are not in the diving community you will too fall in love with this place. Whenever I return to Cabo I will for sure be staying here.

I got…read morelost on public transport on my way to the property and missed my stop which is really right in front of the hostel and Benoit or Ben(for short), the French owner, went out of his way to help get me safely to the hostel. There were countless ways by which he and his staff helped to make my stay better, whether it was teaching me how to use the remote control so that I could watch Netflix on screen, giving me pillows to sit on, or accommodating my specific requests. They are super nice and always make sure the fridge that contains the breakfast ingredients are stocked with fresh food. I liked the amazing home-like atmosphere that Ben and his lovely Filipina wife Yazzy foster there. Ben and Cecilia (the sweet, patient and cool staff person) are always willing and happy to answer all questions. I very much like the upper deck and it was my choice spot to enjoy breakfast that I had just cooked in their kitchen. I enjoyed the international atmosphere of the hostel a great deal. When I was there I met guests from Russia, Austria, France, the US and other parts of Mexico. The location is terrific with the marina and beach in walking distance. For me though one of the best things is the easy walking distance to some excellent restaurants. Affordable but delicious. Some stand outs are Las Paisas, Tony's Tacos, Gourmet (amazing breakfast place) and a resto that offers raw clams and oysters served with limes. I forget the name but it has "Mariscos" in it. That dish is sooo good. If you're into shopping, the place is near the big mall as well as smaller shops. Just be careful where you withdraw or exchange money, the rates are extremely variable. If you prefer not to walk, buses stop right outside the hostel to take you to main destinations and that includes a ride back to the airport. If you're on a budget or a solo traveller, I doubt any other place could rival the value that this place offers. If you're a group you can rent and enjoy the entire house. Highly recommended.

Well, this hotel is similar to what you'll find in the local hotels there. No, this isn't the Hilton or Hyatt. This is a great private room hostel type hotel though. The rooms have comfortable and clean beds, chest of drawers, hanging space, small Tv, and bathroom. My room was cleaned daily with care and the sheets and towels refreshed. The sheets and towels are clean, if well worn. The hotel isn't spotless but it is clean. The AC runs nice and cold, and the fan is usually enough on a warm night. I didn't have the same issues with noise as some other reviewers mention, it was relatively quiet for the length of my stay. My one neighbor did bring his dog who didn't like to be left alone and he smoked outside of room, which wafted a bit in to mine (nothing major). The rooftop pool and lounge area is wonderful and relaxing and I found myself up there often. The hotel is also walking distance from everything. It takes less than 10 minutes walking to get to the beach. And it is steps from a ton of great restaurants. Checking and check out was a breeze. Staff were amiable and quiet. I got my key deposit back without issue. There's free coffee in the morning and you're welcome to use the common area kitchen (clean up after yourself!). Overall this is a great hotel, for a great price. I booked an Expedia package deal and I'm very happy! Highly recommend if you're this type of traveler.
