The weather turned out sunny and cool which was a perfect day to be outside for the crawl. The…read moreevent was free and there was a makeup tent to get zombie makeup applied. Since there was a line, we skipped that. We were already dressed and made up as zombies which makes it smoother and quicker to walk around. We found parking on a side street. Many people really got into the zombie spirit with elaborate costumes. There was a costume contest for individuals and for groups (the group winner was 2 ladies dressed up as deer heads hanging over the fireplace). Music from a DJ was playing and some people danced while others observed and walked (crawled) around. Many people had children with them. There were restaurants open to get a bite to eat or drink. It wasn't super organized as I expected but it was a fun experience and I would recommend at least going once!

The Denver Zombie Crawl is a FREE annual event where zombies and humans are both welcome. Hey, there are zombies everywhere!! Zombie gatherings like this one happen all over the world. Stiffs generally meet up in large cities and then make their way through the streets. Denver zombies meet up at Skyline Park. The crawl begins at the 16th St. Mall towards Glenarm. Up arrival, the herd crosses over to the other side of 16th St. and heads back to Skyline Park. It's a scream and a must do. And if you need help with your makeup, there are plenty of folks there to assist. Will you have a good time? Of corpse you will!!!!

The only thing I would say is that we bought their $10 popcorn, which wouldn't have been a huge deal if it was good, but it definitely tasted a bit stale and I wish that we had brought our own popcorn in bags or just waited and gotten something better at the festival afterwards.

Second what another said about the popcorn being a bit stale. We sat on the bleacher seats and, you know what, I love 'em--just classic popup circus experience. They were really smart to raise the tent sides at some point for cooling air flow. I want more horseback riding while jumping through flaming hoops. I want the strongman show.

The complex includes the Mainstage Theater, an intimate proscenium stage with 534 seats, a spacious art gallery plus extensive wall space for art display in the theater lobby, a 3,000 square foot event room, and the beautiful west terrace which has access to both the theater lobby and the event room. The classroom wing includes a dance studio, two creative studios, and two discovery labs. Parker Arts runs an extensive program of theatrical performances, art shows, and classes. All parts of the complex are available for rental for events from weddings to business conferences. There is a large parking lot in front of the building and a parking ramp is under construction (May 2025) just to the east.

We paid $50 for regular admission (VIP is $70 and gets you closer to the screen). Overall, I'm not sure I'd enthusiastically recommend but it was entertaining enough. It's essentially a 30ish minute drive in movie that involves songs and a couple of short horror film clips (seemingly more student produced than Hollywood quality). While that's all going on, there are costumed actors walking around to scare the cars. You can have your windows up and listen via a radio station or keep them down and listen through the speakers. While the films themselves were a bit laughable, the live actors did spook me a couple of times. I read it's ok for families and while I agree that kids won't be super scared, some of the movie content was a little mature (but they did bleep out expletives), so I'm not sure I'd bring young children. This was definitely a sign of the times and probably not something I'd return to, but I'm glad we gave it a shot! We laughed and relaxed in the warm comfort of our car which you can't say the same about those waiting for the haunted house next door.

A little bummed when I found out haunted houses in fact were still being put on but oh well. There's a lot of mixed reviews here on prices saying it was extremely expensive, I'm not sure why, our ticket was $40 for the car so $20 each, which is less then your average haunted house. The VIP ticket (which is not worth it) is $60/car. I believe at our showing there was one VIP person who was maybe 300 feet ahead of us. The movie/show they put on is pretty corny and cringe worthy, but I was more there for the scare factor anyways. When we first got there I was bummed because we'd packed the back of the car with blankets and pillows to get cozy like at a regular drive in movie, but you pull in forward and stay in your front seat. I was also hesitant because it was really bright, but they put on a ton of smoke/fog machines so the people do sometimes appear out of nowhere. I thought their costumes were pretty freaky looking in the dark (not sure about quality otherwise), and I think they did a good job splitting up their time spent at each car. That being said I think there were less then 10 cars at my showing (Tuesday 9:10pm), and I could see this being far more difficult then on a busier day. They gave us a good fright a couple times, but nowhere near as scary as a typical haunted house.

Every performer brought their A-game. If you love jazz and blues, you will get your fill at this musical. There is very little dialogue in between songs. Just enough to introduce changes in style or era. I can't imagine any improvement to this play.The multi talented Kenya Fashaw is always excellent, but she took us to a new level with her sexy rendition of Someone Else Is Stepping In. It would take a while page to give props to each of the cast members who had us bouncing, rocking and trying hard to refrain from singing along. I encourage all music lovers to treat themselves to this experience.
