I have a love-hate relationship with the Ritz. Let me count the ways: 1. There's not much for beer on tap, but they do have a couple of OK choices like Blue Moon and Fat Tire. 2. It can get really crowded outside and sometimes your only option is to sit in the beating hot sun, but you can usually find a table inside. 3. The crowd can get pretty sketchtastic at times, but on the other hand, EVERYONE comes here. 4. The service is slow, rude, and inefficient, but that's sort of part of its charm. 5. It's a biker bar so occasionally the noise level gets out of control, but on the other hand, it has a big beautiful patio on the lake. 5. The fishbowls are strong, but... the fishbowls are STRONG. I mean, knock you over, live your own personal version of "The Hangover" strong. That equals out to an "A-OK," three-star rating for me. So to start off we headed to the water front which was dead but we didn't get helped out so we left after 10 mins of nothing. Then we headed to the Ritz and and it was gross... we walked in and we shld have walked right back out but we didn't. As we sat down we noticed how dirty the waitress were. Then we waited and waited and nope it wasn't busy. Finally the only clean waitress came over to help and when we noticed them putting pop in our glasses, there was the ice out in the open for anyone to walk past get sneezed or coughed on. They would put a dirty used glass right in the ice to scoop it up. And the straws didn't have any paper on them. The place was gross extremely unsanitary. Stopped in for pizza on first night in okoboji. Not busy this time of year so service was prompt. The Reuben balls appetizer looked like they were frozen and dropped in a fryer, but still tasty. The Sweet Chili pizza was delicious and would get it again. read more

A quick stop here after hours of scalp burning- lake sightseeing in the afternoon. (who does that???) This was the end of the summer weekend. The place was crazy full even at 3 pm. There were two bachelorette parties. So you can imagine the amount of hooting, crazy out-of-tune karaoke drink singing and teary slurry speeches. Hey, am not judging at all. The location is great, and justifies why all the folks want to be here. It's right on the lake. Breezy and relaxing, if you are there on a quieter day. The servers were way too busy with the large group and hence did not get time to attend us much. We did get a pretty quick change of seating as we were sitting outside on the deck and then got moved inside. Ordered their fish bowl. That is something! The amount of alcohol is good for 2 people if you do not want to get sloshed in the afternoon. And you get to keep the bowl as souvenir. The fries/chips were okay. Guacamole, not okay at all. It was a runny green semi solid thing. Did not taste like guac, at all. Okay, as a southwestern girl, I need my guac to taste as it usually does. Took forever to get check and then our card. Maybe we chose the wrong weekend to be in Ritz. Some other time. To taste the burgers and pizzas. read more

The pizza is great, as are the appetizers! The wait was ridiculous! 3 hours because we were told there were some TO GO orders ahead of us. I think they pushed every single TO GO order ahead of us. When I pizzas were delivered (3 hrs later, not stretching this time at all), one meal was forgotten and we were told it's one minute behind = 20 minutes later it came out. We stopped in for a burger fairly early in the evening and happy to see the family friendly advertising. Very glad to have outdoor seating with view of the lake. I think you should rethink the family friendly notations about the Ritz. The table over from us were using profanity repeatedly using the "F" word with little children in attendance. Fun spot for pre-Thanksgiving dinner! Burgers and Pizza were excellent! Had the Cheeseburger Pizza (better than we expected) and had the House favorite LUE Burger, good portion sizes. Waited for our food for 2 hours. We left without getting all of our food. We got one pizza from our order, which was burnt. The waiters didn't care. Our drinks weren't being refilled. The Ritz has taken a terrible turn in the past few years. This place used to be great, with average service. Today, we waited roughly 30 minutes just to get our MENUS. It got to a point where we had to get our own water from the bar, because there was no one to attend it. The pizza took over an HOUR to get, let alone the 45 minutes it took before we could even order. Service was absolutely atrocious, and all three of our servers (which randomly left on us) were extremely rude. Not a single employee was wearing a mask, apparently there is not a pandemic going on right now. Extremely disappointed in the Ritz. First off, it's sad you are forced to give one star as that is not really deserved. The seating and location, being on the water would be the only reason. Slow to take drinks and orders but there were signs preparing us for that, so thank you. The food was nothing spectacular and never would have been a must go back every time I visit OKOBOJI kind of place. Placed our order, made sure to order with NO ONIONS (Thai Chicken Pizza). After taking the first bite, crunch right in my mouth. Guess what...onions filled my pizza. I scraped all onions off and finished a piece. Waitress came we explained. Offered to make a new one, but on a timeline had no time to wait another hour for dinner. Requested to remove from bill. Brought the bill...removed pizza and we paid our bill. THEN... We are walking out and the waitress comes, chases me down to explain there is a problem, I will need to be charged for pizza as onion is not even an ingredient on the pizza of choice. I'm surprised by such a statement, why would I order NO ONION on an item that doesn't come with them??? I'm confused. Quickly she grabbed the menu to prove me wrong...haha guess what.... onion comes on the pizza. So it doesn't stop there, she takes the pizza and my plate with a pile of onions stacked and takes inside for her, and two others to OBSERVE what I must have been dreaming were onions. Oh yes...the best part comes, She returns to say "oh we made a mistake those were onions". Thanks Ritz for makin me a believer that my ONE bud light did not cloud my tastebuds or vision. They are known for their Pizza. So if that's what you are looking for on the lake this would be a good spot. Ordered the club sandwich and we also had the chicken wrap. Both were three star meals. They had the Wednesday kid night when we were there serving free pizza to the kids. They thought it was great Pizza. read more

The following review is based on actual events that took place on Sunday, August 24th, at 1pm. Myself and four of my friends JUST left The Ritz and I'm currently writing this review from Bracco. When we arrived at The Ritz we were originally seated outside. It's currently 88 degrees outside so it wasn't the most comfortable and we were not seated under any shade. After waiting to be so much as greeted by a staff member for 15 minutes, we then decided to look inside for an open table in hope that it would be cooler and that we may be more likely to be served in a timely manner. We found a table near the door inside and again waited to be served. After waiting another 15 minutes we finally pulled an older woman, the one who originally say us, to the side to ask when we may be served. She then informed us that she didn't know because she didn't even work there, she was only volunteering by clearing and cleaning tables because the entire bar had three servers working because "a lot of the servers went back to school". That's right. Three. There is approximately 40 tables at The Ritz and nearly every one was occupied. The old volunteer said she would go and try to get us water and find us a server. Roughly three minutes later she brought us water and while drinking she had one of the three servers working stop by and she told us that there would be a one and a half hour wait on food. At that point we got up and left. I'm not upset with the waiting staff, they can only do so much. It is a complete and epic failure on the part of management to only have three servers working on a weekend during a prime rush hour. In short, if you're not hungry, perfect. Go to The Ritz. By the time you're served you'll be starving. read more

Was in town this evening and ate at The Ritz with some friends and family. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend the Australian Burger! It's a burger with bacon, cheese, and a fried egg. Delicious! The Reuben Bites and the Spinach Artichoke Rangoons were fantastic as well. My ONLY concern was that our waitress...who was very sweet and nice....miscalculated our bill by nearly $60! We pointed out the error to her and she corrected it immediately. I will surely go there again and eat another one of those fantastic burgers! read more

It's "rare" that I would rave about a burger, but the Ritz knows how to do it. Even better when served with a Cyclone victory. A good burger should not require bacon, cheese or exotic condiments for good flavor and texture. Just had a Lue burger at the Ritz this eve....done to perfection (simply seasoned with some moo remaining) on a plain bun with crisp veggies. Moreover, the fry cook at the Ritz sizzles at the perfect temp to retain the juice and not to "flatten" it or over cook it dry. Kudos to the burger King of the Grill. read more

Highly recommend! We got there 1 week prior to season opening so they were out of a few things like Titos! Due to pre season! But the Burger was fantastic and Sparkles our awesome (another 5 Stars) Waiter went above and beyond on Service. Our local friend suggested this place as he claimed they had the best burger in town. And apparently it also has the number 2 burger in the state. When we walked in on a Friday night this place was packed. We milled around for a bit looking for a table when we spotted a couple just getting up from their table and swooped in and sat down. Despite being swamped our server did a great job of serving our table. Our wait for food and drinks was not bad at all. We ordered a fish bowl of Long Islands and wow, it was strong, but delicious. I ordered the Ritz burger and I understand why it is ranked so high. It was awesome. And huge. This is a locals favorite that also snags short time visitors. Always a good crowd on the large deck and a reasonable number of boat slips to encourage going by boat. The pizza is the best on the lake and prices reflect it. $20 for a pie. They need to offer a smaller pizza, went with 3 others and had lots of leftovers when with only two pies.
