Guy behind the bar was nice to me and offered me a few taste of wheat beers on draft. He hd a wild berry wheat-like beer which I liked, so I went with that. They do have food here and the day I came, only fried items available as the cook was out that day. I had some fries and they were good. My bill was really negligible and I like this laid back place tucked in a mall, across from Pickle Kingdom. I'd definitely come back again. Come support your local dive bar!

I tried the potato skins, deep fried cheese curds and deep fried fish. None of this was terrible, typical bar food. The negative part of my experience was our server. She was not nice and I always felt like I was inconveniencing her every time I asked for something. Her responses were always short and annoyed. I wish I remembered her name. She is the main reason I will not come here again unless it's with work friends (as this is conveniently located for all of us).

The L-shaped bar seats 15 people and there are six high tops that seat six people, three picnic tables outside for eight people each, and a long couch inside for four people to chill. My beertender was very friendly and accomodating. He gave my dog Hansel a bowl of water and a biscuit. This is a very dogfriendly taproom. Both beers I had were very tasty. My first pint was a Hefeweizen. It had a slight waxy mouthfeel. My second pint was an oatmeal stout. At 7.3% ABV it was a tad strong, but it went down very smoothly. I snacked on some free popcorn but it was seasoned with a strong spice. Thankfully I could help myself to the water fountain. I enjoyed the ambiance and will be back.

The totchos were great, I ate more than my stomach appreciated. My husband ordered a fried chicken sandwich with marinara and a cold beer. I did not ask him how his meal was, but his sandwich disappeared pretty quickly so im assuming it was tasty. The woman running trivia was delightful, with a fantastically dry sense of humor. At one point she mentioned she once got to see Prince and touched his ankle. Long story short, I have now touched the hand that touched Prince's ankle. We made it through 7 rounds of trivia and somehow WON! A crowning achievement of year 37 of my life, for sure. This win earned us: a $25 gift certificate to the lovely Sawtooth Bar & Grill establishment, a rubber ducky of our choosing, a crystal pendant (optional), and 1 week of ownership of the trivia night trophy . We did not trust ourselves to remember to bring back the trophy, and I did not trust some of the fellas to bring it back in one piece, so the bar staff graciously took custody of it until next week's trivia night. The bar itself is super cozy. Nice low lighting, small place but you don't feel cramped. Lots of TVs and a few arcade games. My husband and his BFF frequent this spot and tell me wonderful things about the owner. With the decor, setup, menu and general ambience, it feels like a Midwestern bar more than one in AZ. All in all, I really enjoyed myself and will happily return for another trivia night. We were promptly given menus and our drink orders were taken immediately. I ordered the birria burger it was really tasty. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly I tried all three of their ranch dressings .... amazing flavor combinations;the avocado was my favorite. The birria on top of my burger was flavorful. I got the Cajun pasta (comes with chicken and sausage). great flavor and portion size. wouldn't have minded a little more Cajun spice though. dirty martini was on point. just the right amount of brine and went down smooth. 30+ TVs, so you'll be able to see one no matter where you sit. outside TVs could be set a little brighter to be better visible in bright sun. service was fast and accurate with a smile. will definitely go back next time I'm in town.
