Came with some friends for dinner, one of them hadn't been before so we were glad to introduce her to this gem. This night we started with an order of the mozzarella sticks, which was a first and so glad we tried them because I want them every time we come now! Four sticks to an order along with a small bowl of their wonderful marinara sauce. They were lightly breaded and fried to perfection and when you bit into one, you got that mozzarella pull! We decided to try the pizza salad this time around and so glad we did because it was truly delicious. Comes with an oregano vinaigrette and of course I also asked for a side of ranch (theirs is really good) and I love the combo of dressings! Again, another favorite discovered! This time we decided on the Meat-Za flat bread and it was amazing! It is made with red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, salami, Italian seasoning all on top of their most wonderful flat bread pizza crust. Really, really good! Friends got the BBQ Chicken flat bread as well as a half Elote and half Meat-Za and she loved it. The BBQ chicken was good as well so will get that one next time! The Elote we experienced previously and it is so good!!! It was busy this evening we were there but food took no time to get to us and service was what you expect! You order at the counter, are given a number and food is delivered to you at your table. This is truly one of our favorites in the rotation now...

I tried the lunch special on the wall: green chili pork soup and the MEAT-ZA flatbread with red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, salami, and Italian seasoning. So good and perfect for a casual lunch. Great drinks, good food, and friendly service. Definitely a solid Tempe hangout.

The L-shaped bar seats 15 people and there are six high tops that seat six people, three picnic tables outside for eight people each, and a long couch inside for four people to chill. My beertender was very friendly and accomodating. He gave my dog Hansel a bowl of water and a biscuit. This is a very dogfriendly taproom. Both beers I had were very tasty. My first pint was a Hefeweizen. It had a slight waxy mouthfeel. My second pint was an oatmeal stout. At 7.3% ABV it was a tad strong, but it went down very smoothly. I snacked on some free popcorn but it was seasoned with a strong spice. Thankfully I could help myself to the water fountain. I enjoyed the ambiance and will be back.

Being able to seat yourself when you arrive was great. We came in shortly before 5 p.m., a little before the dinner rush, so there was no wait at all. My fiancé and I arrived a little earlier than the rest of our group and were immediately helped by our server. She was incredibly attentive and checked on us often without ever making us feel rushed. Everyone ordered something different, but I made sure to try a little bit from everybody's plate. Maybe I was just especially hungry, but when my Fire Starter burger came out, I thought it looked absolutely beautiful. My fiancé got the wings with a side of fries, my mother got the Birria Quesadilla, and my sister ordered the fish and chips. The burger tasted just as good as it looked, and everything else I tried was great as well. It was the kind of meal where everyone at the table was happy with what they ordered. There are also plenty of TVs throughout the dining area for anyone interested in watching something while they eat, which fits the pub atmosphere really well. And the service really stood out to me. When we were leaving, our server noticed us from across the dining room and called out goodbye and that she hoped to see us again. That little interaction genuinely made me feel like she meant it rather than it just being something she had to say. My fiancé and I both really enjoy pub-style food, so after tonight's meal and the great service we received, I can definitely see us coming back. In fact, I'm already plotting what I'm going to order next time.

Outstanding cheese curds were super light and crispy and the pull was outstanding. Great beer menu and even included lots of No Alcohol choices. AZ hash was delicious but a warning, the Fresno Red Chilies are very spicy, the French Toast with brisket, bacon, egg and cheese was very good and the shrimp and grits with pork in chorizo gravy also were very good. My son had to have dessert so the splurge for the Guinness double chocolate brownie with mint ice cream and whipped cream was a great treat. On Sundays, they feature a brunch menu only from 9am-2pm. We finished up around 2pm so my son could order a Meatloaf Sandwich with smoked meatloaf, ricotta, blackberry bbq sauce, arugula, tomato, onion strings, sesame bun for his lunch.

Decided…read moreto pull out my phone. and instead of using Yelp, I actually just punched cheesesteak into Waze, and what do you know?! I ended up finding the cheesesteak joint. This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. This is a really chill brewery, and not a huge spot. Maybe 8 to 10 high top tables with bar seating, and a mostly open floor plan. They have a small patio too, with what looks like about another tables but because I visited at night, nobody was outside. They also seem to be extremely dog friendly as they had one table with a really chill cocker spaniel completely laid out on his side in the middle of the floor. I'm not sure how many taps they had in total, but definitely more than 40 I would say. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I ordered a cider. The cider I was served was on tap and really tasty. And it definitely hit the spot of terms of price point. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner/manager of the tipsy cactus (shout to him because he was really cool), he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping so I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future, especially if I'm hitting one of the food trucks parked outside.

This place is fairly new and still has the brand new feel. They have an inviting entrance with fun signage. Once inside, you're in an aisle of newer pinball machines that lead up to the small bar. Yes- Another pinball/game location that also serves beer and wine (but no food/kitchen). The place has an 80's or early 90's feel to it. They have a lot of newer pinball machines I'm not familiar with but saw a lot of classics that I've enjoyed over the years as well. While the place is around 75% pinball focused, there's also some retro arcade games like the original Super Mario Bros (a good way to make a quarter last 15min). I also noticed almost every machine was in working order! They had a tournament board and a digital high scores board near the entrance. Inquiring more about it, they host some tournaments and also have several leagues that play here. The only downside I found was the walk lanes were pretty tight...if people were playing on machines on both sides of the walkway, I had to turn sideways and skooch gingerly between to not rump bump someone. Also, the place is pretty small so in busy times your favorite machines may be taken for some time. Overall, another great place to spend an hour playing pinball and reliving some fond childhood memories!
