We went here for a Valentine's dinner. We made reservations, which I recommend. Service was very attentive by everyone, dinner was great for both of us - except for the twice baked potato which wasn't the best but not worth worrying over. The main courses were outstanding and dessert - turtle cheesecake and key lime tort - both worth writing home about. Old Fashioneds were well done as well. Great experience overall. read more

The River's Edge has the best food in our entire area. You can choose off a menu that features several variations in each meat or fowl group. The menu is about 5 pages long, small print and tons of ideas for your meal. The prime rib is excellent and the chicken rangoon is delightfully different. The waitresses are all very prompt.....the drinks prepared perfectly. We love going here for dinner. read more

After trying many other supper clubs over the years of living in the area we finally made it in to River's Edge. I only wish we would have found it sooner. Nice sized bar upon entering along with a piano. The dining room wasn't too busy so we decided to be seated right away, and we were greeted promptly by our waitress. She took our drink order, I ordered an old fashion and it was quite good. I may have had a couple more. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions. I appreciate a waitress who has a personality and ours was amazing and quick witted. My guest and I both ordered a steak. Now with that being said we normally don't order steak out because it's either cooked wrong or has no flavor. Well that wasn't the case here at all. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were very well flavored, mine was a filet and my guest had a ribeye which was trimmed perfectly. I also ordered the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was cooked perfect and the garlic butter sauce was nothing less than spectacular. After boasting about how good the food was to our waitress who by the way was attentive and checked on us at the appropriate times, came by with the dessert tray. Some great choices for dessert, I had the turtle cheesecake which was rich and good portioned. My guest had an after dinner grasshopper which didn't disappoint. Great experience, great food, with great service. We complimented the owner before leaving and offered our thanks to the chef who we were told was only 21! We will be making this the new go to spot for dinner and drinks out. read more

Have been coming up to the area for the past 13 years and recently sold our place nearby. Just found Rivers Edge last week and going back this week! The glazed pork chops were excellent. Moist and two huge chops - more than one person could eat at one sitting. My husband had the porterhouse and lived it. Calamari for app were huge as well. Sorry to be leaving the area after finding this gem. read more

If I'd reviewed my previous two visits, they would have been 5 stars. But on Feb. 12th, I went to dinner with a girlfriend to celebrate our birthdays. We both had 8 oz steaks, which were very good. But the rice side dish was awful--full of red pepper flakes--who does that to a simple pilaf? On other visits, the rice was fine. Side servings were small. Vegetables were just a garnish--one piece each of overcooked broccoli, cauliflower and carrot. Our coffee was served with outdated, sour creamers--twice. Once I can forgive--twice means you're not paying attention. It was a weeknight and there was only one server--pleasant enough if you could get her attention. Hopefully, this visit was a fluke, because the place is beautiful and classy compared to other restaurants in the area. read more

Having dined at The River's Edge on many occasions, I had never had a bad dinner there, and I always recommended the place UNTIL New Years Eve. To be clear, I did take my complaints straight to the owner that night who admitted there were problems, but didn't seem too concerned, nor did he reimburse me anything. Our reservations were for 7. We were seated at 7:15. We did not get out salads until after 8 p.m. and that was after asking 3 different workers where they were. Not one time did our own server come to our table after taking our order. Our steak dinners then came around 8:30 (one of us had to be to work for 9). ALL of our steaks/potatoes were over cooked and barely warm. I asked the server just how long had they been sitting out. Again, no concern there, and again, our server did not once come to ask us how our dinners were or did we need anything else. We had to inhale our food to get out in time for our friend to get to work. I brought all of this up to the attention of the owner, Frank. As a business owner, I welcome constructive criticism and will do whatever is necessary to make the customer feel heard and understood. This was not done for us. Maybe it was a bad night, so then SAY something, TELL us, APOLOGIZE and do something to make it as right as you can. Do NOT just ignore your customers. BAD dining experience in every way that night. Next time, maybe you should turn down reservations or make sure you are capable of serving so many people in a timely manner providing quality NOT quantity. read more

I have been working in this area on and of for about 3 years and have not been able to find a really nice restaurant. Well my search has ended. The food, service, and ambiance are the best I have found in a long time. Prices are very reasonable and the menu is extensive. Give it a try and I am sure you will be impressed. read more

Pretty setting, friendly staff and very good food. Had the walleye which was pan fried with a brandy sauce which was wonderful. Also had a pasta dish with shrimp and sausage which was yummy. Would return if in the area. read more

I've been here many times. I've only had the filet, ribeye, and pork chop. I found the pork chop dry but you get two small chops so that may be part of the reason. The steaks are OK. Sometimes you get a nice portion, every now and then its full of fat and gristle. I'm not a fan of the sides. They dont seem that fresh. Even the mashed potatoes comes in a separate ramekin and has a weird texture. The dish usually comes with a strange garnish like a babycut carrot or a pineapple slice. The entrees all come with a salad which is OK. I've had some of the desserts. Portion is too large for me and quality isnt that great. They all seem too dense even the cheesecake, tiramisu, cream pies. The restaurant always seems fairly empty when I'm there. Servers are nice but service seems slow probably due to the kitchen. Overall, there isnt alot of choice in the area unless you want chain, fast, bar, or diner food so I still keep coming back. At least I can get a decent steak. read more
