As a person of color I felt very uncomfortable with the staff because they seemed to be serving the white people before anyone else. If I could take back anything it would be the way the waitress looked at me and my friend I went with who is also a person of color. It took them 20 minutes to get our drink order and 2 hours to get our food. It was not a busy day and we were one of the few tables occupied. My favorite place to go in town for a burger or Friday night fish fry! Staff is always friendly! Lots of fun events in the summer!

If you like going to a bar with screaming kids at 8 o'clock at night, this is the bar for you. The food along with screaming toddlers sat under the heat lamps for at least 45 minutes. Applebee's over by the interstate will give you a better bar experience and its an Applebee's. read more

I honestly can't believe I used to eat here. I stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat on monday, the place was completely dead. I had to wait ten minutes before someone finally came out of the kitchen area and decided to seat me. (There was a wait to be seated sign up). The old man who sat me seemed to have no personality what so ever and didn't apologize for my long wait. Even after I told him how long I waited. I sat down already displeased but figured it couldn't get much worse. I was wrong. The waitress took atleast three minutes to come greet me at the table. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but after waiting ten minutes to be seated and having the place completely empty. It is inexcusable. I may have had a slight attitude when she introduced herself and told me the specials but who wouldn't. I decided to order a turkey club sandwhich with fries and a miller light. After putting in the order she came back with a bud light. I told her I ordered a miller light and she argued that I didn't but she would get me one anyway. She brought me the beer and about eight minutes later my food came out. ( at least they don't take forever for the food as well). But of course something was wrong. The sandwich was fine but the fries were completely cold. I asked the waitress for fresh ones. She explained to me that the fries were under the heat lamp which wasn't turned on and that she was sorry. The fries that were brought out after that were fine and I finished my meal. When the waitress brought the bill she failed to mention that they were going to charge me for the bud light and miller light. Even though I only ordered and drank the miller. As I said earlier she argued that I had ordered a budlight which I did not. I pointed this out on the bill and she said that she had to charge me for it because it was thrown out since it was opened. I asked to speak to the manager about this because it was absurd. Eventually the manager slowpoked his way to my table and with a pure monotone voice he tried to explain that I had to pay for both beers because it was my fault. Apparently he believed the waitress, that I ordered the wrong drink. I was tired of arguing and paid my bill and left. But lord knows I will never return nor will my family. read more

I love the ambiance of this place especially in the summer, right on the river with plenty of outdoor seating in the shade. I have been here 3 times since we moved to the area and have had great food each time. Looks like a fun place to play volleyball as well. Will be back. read more

Typically enjoyed The Rock until today. Very, very disappointed that they allowed someone at the bar to chew tobacco and spit in a cup the entire time I was trying to enjoy a drink. My appetite was so destroyed, I couldn't order off the menu and had to leave. I just don't understand this. If people aren't allowed to smoke in a bar, then why are they allowed to chew and spit at the bar? Absolutely disgusting and in poor taste. I asked the bartender if this was typical and she said yes, and smiled like it was no big deal. That's my last time there. Who wants to look at a glass of someone's saliva and tobacco. read more

I have been here twice, both times on a Sunday afternoon. Service has been horribly slow both times. The staff definitely needs training. The bartender apologized for the slow service and said she is really busy. There were only 9 people at the bar. The food was fairly quick, but nothing spectacular. Typical bar food. Keeping it short and sweet. I've lived in Beloit 26 years and have never been to The Rock until 2 weeks ago. My mistake. Big time. I've now been twice and all I can say is awesome. The ambiance is nice, the food I've had amd my wife has had was very good and the wait staff is outstanding. I'll be back on a regulat basis. read more

The Rock is Beloit's local version of Applebees. The food is good and the all you can eat fish fry on Friday is very good.

I went to a birthday party last Friday night. The host paid to have the outdoor section of the building. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and it was awful! I love bar/grill food, but this was just bad. I ordered it medium well and received medium rare. There was so much grease, it was dripping down my arm. Gross! Atmosphere is okay, it is nice and clean. Food is mediocre at best. I had the Italian beef which was very salty and the portion size for $9.00 was disappointing. Wife had just an appetizer...cheese curds at $7.00 and they were certainly nothing special. I've had better at the county fair. Disappointed in the food for the price. If I wanted fast food I could have drove across the river and ate at Arbys for half the price. read more

The rock has a decent selection of beer and decent clientele. The food is alright. I've given their burgers too many chances in the past. They are perfectly formed patties and taste horrible and have a cardboard-esque texture. I prefer real beef. The main thing the rock has going for it it the outdoor seating in the summer. The Friday fish fry was excellent. the coleslaw tastes good. Our son enjoyed the sunrise burger. The pretzel bread rolls were enjoyable. The service was good. they were well staffed. read more
