I visited the Board & Brush Westminster location with three girlfriends and it was so much fun - and making a wood sign was easy! The steps were simple - and the hosts helped us each step of the way. First, you choose a design (over 500 designs) online when you RSVP for your event date. When you get to the studio, your project is ready for you! We sanded, we pounded (distressing the wood), we stained, we sanded again, we painted, we sanded again, and we coated our final products. Then, we attached the hanging hardware. This is fun for people of all ages! Men, women, children - it's easy to do and you get to create a wonderful masterpiece for your home, office, porch, man cave, she-shed - wherever! One friend created an awesome shelve to hold some of her pet's supplies (leashes, etc.) and she customized it with her pets' names Another friend created a beautiful sign welcoming friends into her dining room. I also don't mind supporting such a great venue and organization. We've seen a few performances at a couple of their theatres. My favorite is likely the most intimate space, The Black Box Theatre. The other larger space is well laid out, just bigger. I love the creativity and variety of their offerings. We've seen so many great shows. Def will return. And, the last time we were there, we learned about their spring plant sale that took place in their parking lot. Who knew? We went and really appreciated the local community collaboration. Amy who owns the business and teaches the classes is a great teacher, an excellent potter, and has an amazing attitude. In a class like this people's pots fall, or they mess up a throw often as they learn but Amy has such an optimistic attitude and helps people come up with what purpose their new creation can serve. Amy clearly works very hard to make this a place for artists to bloom and discover themselves, which is intoxicating. The studio is well equipped and while taking a class you can come in outside of class time to throw and practice. This is a great opportunity to practice and get more wheel time outside of the two hours of class a week. They also offer painting and have lots of fun things to paint with many beautiful glazes!

His wife (I apologize, I didn't get her name!) is very talented and kind, and walked me through the techniques that I was struggling with on my own as a self-taught tufter. The rest of the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful as well! Since I'd had prior "experience" (I jumped into rug tufting on my own by watching Geoff's videos back in February and already own three of their guns!), they let me focus on some techniques that I was wanting help with and let me do a more "complicated" rug. My best friend and my mom took the class with me, and it was their first introduction to tufting. They had a wonderful time and would do it again!! We were all beyond impressed with the amount of effort that the Tuft Love team put into the class -- all of our equipment was perfect, designs were traced out, and many yarn colors were available. They also have an innovative way of gluing/backing the rugs so we were able to take them home at the end of the class. I am so grateful and feel so privileged that Tuft Love is here in my home state of CO, especially knowing how much of an authority they are in the tufting world. I was already a Tuft Love loyalist, but especially after having met these wonderful people in person and knowing their incredible philanthropic mission, I will forever support their business.
