Star Cafe is a legend in Star. It is where locals grab their grub. It was recommended to us by people who live in town. We headed there for breakfast one weekday. It was crowded both in the parking lot and inside but we got a seat. There were counter stools and tables in two rooms. Our greeter, a young guy, got us seated and gave us menus. Our server Jessica B, came by. She has a beautiful smile. We ordered & in short order our food arrived. I asked for the small appetite "B" it came with one egg, bacon and 2 pieces French toast. The egg was good but the French toast was scrumptious. Cinnamon & powdered sugar sprinkled on, creamy butter and hot syrup served on the side in a squeeze bottle. The bacon was perfectly salty , slightly crisp and full of flavor. My perfect breakfast. A fellow diner had the haystack which was delicious and piled high with gravy , eggs, potatoes etc, a huge portion. Another patron had the Star skillet. It was very good. The eggs and cheese with potatoes and sausage were seasoned well and yummy. The potatoes are cubed big and pronounced in the dish. The scramble was served with toast. Service was overall good. Someone offered to help us get water then forgot about us. Not sure why they offered to get it for us and then not. Perhaps they thought we were their table then realized no. Oh well. They give you utensils in a paper sleeve so they are clean. Bathroom, however, could be cleaner. The wall decor in the restaurant is art by a local artist for purchase and knickknacks....down home cozy. Star's motto is "small town, big family" and this was written on their chalkboard. Our server was friendly. Paid at the front and exited. We would definitely eat there again. Try it but expect it to be busy

I truly do love this place for its nostalgic, small town feel and friendly, personable service. That alone would give this place 10 stars! We were quickly seated in a booth but it's obvious the place runs on friendly and not exactly quick service. The wait staff promptly brought water and coffee but we had to wait a bit for service. We ordered a pancake short stack, Haystack and French toast. The Haystack half order is more than enough for 1 person (I dare to think what a full order looks like) but is incredibly wonderful - I ordered my egg over medium and the Lucious yolk poured over the biscuits with gravy, hashbrowns and sausage like a warm blanket. Every bite was amazing. Daughter purred at her French toast over its not-too-sweet but perfectly cooked texture and flavor. Downside is that the pancakes were rubbery and overcooked, a far cry from what we've experienced in the past and put quite a damper on my husband's mood. Rumor has it that this place has struggled to have consistent cooks which may have led to some inconsistency but overall I love this place.

Great little diner in Star. My husband and I split a pancake and split a chicken fried steak with eggs, it was very good.

My mom and dad have been telling us we had to try this place and we just figured out why. This place is absolutely perfect. It's got the old breakfast diner feel to the max inside, with great artwork and funny sayings everywhere. We had the pleasure of having Sheila take care of us. By the end of breakfast I wanted to tell her we should be best friends. She was fun, hilarious, and took beyond great care of us. The food was WONDERFUL. I had the corned beef hash and my husband had the haystack. Huge portions and it was all so fresh and tasted like it was made at home. Actually that's the best way to describe it, this place feels like home. I'm sorry it took us so long to get there but we will be regulars from here on out. THANK YOU SHEILA for making our morning with your wonderful personality.

It was very busy there, but nice people, great food & big portions too. It had a hometown feel to it. People talking to each other but not noisy, just overall friendly place. Prices were good too

A cool spot where the servers know the locals by name, but the food was very subpar. Out of 4 of us, only 1 liked his food - so get the French toast.

Counterspace when you want to be close to the coffee and the pretty smile on the ladies who were serving, small town BIG Family!!

I drove past it on my way to Middleton so it was neccessary to stop in while heading back home to Boise. I needed a pick me up! Passing this joint, there's Black Rock, Starbucks and Dutch Bros. Three franchises that are very predictable and consistent. I'm always down to support local so I made my way in! Supporting local joints is so important. Walking in, the shop is really cute. It's two levels which is fun. You instantly hit the counter as you walk in. Merch on the walls. Baked goods in front of you. I wasn't greeted or acknowledged right away. So, I checked out the drink list on the front of the counter while I waited. The gals behind the counter weren't friendly but they weren't rude, they were just there. I asked for thier sugar free options and was handed a list. To my surprise, they had quite a few SF options which was great! You can only do much SF vanilla, caramel and hazelnut. With so many options available, I was excited to order my drink. I got a med iced americano with sugar free peanut butter and white chocolate. I thought I could mimic a snickers. To be able to have SF peanut butter as an option was dope! I did ask for cream in my iced americano. My drink was ready pretty quickly. I scoped out the area upstairs. It's quite cozy and relaxing up there. There's also an outer deck which will be nice for spring and summer coffee dates. I adore the old decor they have. I also noticed all their syrups that they have available! Their syrup game is on point! Bottles upon Bottles! My drink was good. I do wish there was a hair more cream. The flavors were there, I should have added a pack of sweetner to sweeten it a little more but I didn't mess with it. The espresso was present but on the watered down side. It wasn't the best but it was a nice to get that much needed afternoon caffeine jolt. This coffee joint is cute and cozy. I adore the outdoor seating in the front and back of the venue. My drink was ok. Customer service could be worked on a bit. I'm hardly in Star but we will see if I'll be back. Maybe my next experience will be better than today's.

The last time I went I tried the gingerbread latte - this was hands down THE BEST gingerbread latte I've ever had! I'm so bummed it's seasonal and that they aren't closer to me so I can enjoy it more before it's gone. I did enjoy their breakfast burrito, it is a smidge expensive, but it's solid. My partner is a black coffee drinker and he likes their Fruit Snacks brew for drip, says it's one of the best black coffees he's found in a while. The ambiance is very relaxed, the swing chairs are such a unique idea (at least in my experience) and they give the shop a fun vibe. I kind of wish they were in just a little bit bigger location, the last time I went it was fairly full inside and it would be great if they had a few more spots for comfy reading chairs - I would love to grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and spend an hour or two reading there. It's definitely a warm environment and any time I'm in the area, I plan to head back.

I remember they have baked goodies that my husband would be interested in. He's doesn't like all the frilly stuff, just the good ol classics and Eagle Coffee has plenty of that! We came in around 12:30. It was pretty chill. A few guests outside enjoying the September weather and a couple guests inside. We checked out the food cases and found what we wanted. In my last review I had the keto quiche. It was a little overwhelming for me. The Mediterranean quiche was suggested so of course I had to try it. And it looked good in the food case. We were instantly greeted by a bunch a happy faces. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant for my husband. My Mediterranean quiche was ordered. I snagged a small iced cinnamon honey dirty chai with almond milk and a huckleberry lemonade for the husband. I believe everything we got is going to be so good! The ham and cheese croissant looked mighty tasty! It was nicely heated. You can tell it was nice and hot cause the ham and cheese was starting to slide out of the croissant. Husband smashed the whole thing and I wasn't even offered a bite. My quiche had beautiful pieces of zucchini and cheese on top. I really enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes in it. The filling was fluffy and soft. It was a great suggestion from the manager! I might have them heat it up just a hair longer next time, it could have been warmer. The huckleberry lemonade was killer!! It was tart, sweet and bubbly. I was only allowed one sip and I made sure it was big! My first round of chai did not look like normal and it didn't taste good. It was so dark and bitter. I did ask the barista if there was chai in my drink cause it didn't taste like chai. After we got it figured out, a new drink was made. My first one was not what I had ordered, I don't know what it was. My second round was almost perfect. The honey cinnamon chai was so good! It was sweet and spicy. I love the added cinnamon in there. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. I really enjoyed our little coffee date here today. The food was good. Our drinks were tasty. The staff was nice. And it's conveniently down the road from us. I'm happy we stopped in today for our Sunday goodies. I look forward to another round of food and drinks from this joint.
