A must visit!!! We visited on a Saturday night and we're able to get a last minute table with a minimal wait. The staff was so kind and intentional. The interior is dim lighting, dark furniture, and string lights. It is super classy and very joyful vibes. The bartenders were I'm extremely knowledgeable. We had an espresso martini and a dirty martini - both were great!! Cannot wait to make this a regular spot. read more

We did not have a reservation and was told the bar was 100% reserved, despite 1/2 the seats being open. We did get two seats in an odd spot, but NOT as desirable as the many open booths and bar spots open. The happy hour menu was ok, but the drinks were average. If we would have been seated at the bar, instead of being told it was booked we would have stayed longer. Instead, we found another cool spot to spend our time and money. read more

This is a pretty cool cocktail bar. Highly recommend making a reservation online, our group did not and it was about an hour and a half wait on a Saturday night. While the downstairs vibes are super cool, we got seated upstairs and I did not enjoy the vibes as much, as well as they have a different cocktail menu upstairs and not every cool drink is available. Once upstairs we ordered at the bar, and the cocktail itself was pretty good. Expect to pay between $15-20 per cocktail. They do have some appetizer type snacks, but our group did not eat there. I ordered the jungle bird cocktail. Overall, if you're looking for a really specific type of fancy cocktail bar, i'd recommend the Roosevelt Room. read more

There's not a lot I can say about this delightful cocktail bar that hasn't already been generously said. If you're in Austin and looking for a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a unique cocktail, then look no further. The reviews are accurate, this is perfection. The menu has more than 80 cocktails, grouped by era. It's a lovely speakeasy kind of setting with relatively chill customers at other tables or booths. The servers are incredibly friendly and highly attentive. You can also order a nosh, if you are peckish. Do not make the mistake we did and not make a reservation in advance. This is too special to miss out on. Hours, locations and menus are on the website. So, grab your bestie and get on over there! Those drinks aren't going to drink themselves. read more

I've been wanting to come here for a couple years over my holiday visit to Austin and we never remember to make reservations in time, but we did it this year! I went with friends who live in Austin and were willing to get drinks I also would like so I got to try 9 drinks without getting plastered before dinner. We also had snacks which were smaller than I thought they would be, but so delicious. My favorite were the pickled vegetables and fresh fruit, reminded me of something my great aunt makes me that I love. Favorite cocktail was the paper airplane that had a little origami plane on a stick! The cocktails were out of this world and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful in making selections and modifying a cocktail for my nut allergy. The vibe is hella cute. My only complaint was that our party of 3 was in a booth with another party with this weird divider when there were empty tables. read more

Walked in here and it looked really fancy. Should of worn something a little nicer but they did not mind. I suggest make a reservation so you don't wait long. It was like a 20 min wait to get a table. Buk to the future is my favorite drink. Barely taste the alcohol and very tasty. Only downside is the drinks are very expensive. 15-30$ a cocktail. Loveeee this place!! Definitely try making reservations if you can. We came on a weekday and they were pretty busy! I was so excited to go inside! Loved the atmosphere and design of the place. My friend reserved the room upstairs for a large group. The vibe throughout the place was super cool. Very dark and moody with an upscale feel. The drinks were great as well. My friend and I tried two non-alcoholic drinks, Glitter and Marigold and The Castaway. Both were great! I did notice an interaction between the hostess and a group of people walking in. The group was unfamiliar with reservation/seating at the bar and the hostess was a little rude. Our bartender upstairs was also a tad rude, but it could have been because he had limited help. Cool place, but could have a more inclusive/kind staff. read more

Highly recommend this place for a chill, ambient, classy-ish vibe when you're in downtown. Delicious curated crafted cocktails that are consistently dished out like it was their true calling. I have lived in Austin for over 20 years and never went to the Roosevelt. Last night a friend and I made our way there. It was packed both upstairs and down as well as the bar with guests with reservations but the hostess said she would try to get us a table and in 20 minutes we were escorted in. The ambiance was lively and fun. I am a wine drinker, rarely drink mixed drinks so I didn't have a clue what to order out of their 90+ offerings. Our waitress Emma asked a few questions about what I liked, fruity, sweet, tangy, etc and came back with a delicious cocktail perfect for me. We chatted with her a bit and ordered the cheese plate and the hummus. (The hummus was exceptional). For a second drink I asked for something different and again left it up to her and again it was delicious. We asked if there was a chance we could sit at the bar and Emma made that happen too. There we met a great showmen bartender, Lawrence, who enhanced the bar experience. Emma's attention to us and assistance with ordering helped make the night exceptional and Lawrences' skill and fun showmanship made for a great night out.I read more

The people at the door were a lil ummm how do you say.... Yea douchey that's it. They were pretentious and not welcoming because we weren't dressed like Instagram influencers. But we didn't let the 45 minute wait thwart us. We found another bar to pregame and came back when we were texted. But other than that, it was a great experience. Our waiter was friendly. The drink menu was inspiring. I enjoyed watching the bartenders work from our table. They really really really care about what they do. Every single drink the 4 of us had (3 rounds and nobody repeated drinks 12 drinks total) was delicious. Just a bunch of mmmms and head nods around the table. We also ordered the potato pancakes which was a nice treat and I was curious about the chicken liver mousse. It was surprisingly good. This place is everything you want it to be and more. My dream bar. Relaxed, low key vibe with plenty of seating and friendly service. You can have an intimate night without feeling overwhelmed. And now to the drinks! There are 80+ cocktails from every era and enough variety for everyone. We tried a couple of different ones and I loved both. The Roosevelt Room is a must cocktail bar in Austin. We went during the week on a Friday and luckily they had space but I would recommend a reservation. We planned to only have one cocktail and be on our way and the one cocktail was worth the stop. I got the Cigar Box and it was a smooth experience. The ambiance reminds me of an old cigar bar with draped windows and dark interior. Every one was super friendly and I hope you enjoy your visit! read more

LOVELY bar in Austin, could not recommend this place enough! The menu is so well-organized and the concept of grouping drinks by their time period is really fun to explore. The bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They recommended cocktails based on our preferences and even gave us two complimentary pink squirrel cocktails which were delicious and unlike anything we had tried before. The flavor was like a Neapolitan ice cream with a lighter sweetness. This is such a beautiful cocktail bar in the heart of Austin! Their cocktail menu is gorgeous and so well executed, and I have yet to see another bar in Austin that does it similarly. Service was excellent, and I love how they have a dessert/appetizer + drink pairing. I ordered vanilla bean ice cream with my cocktail, and they complimented each other so well. This is a pretty intimate cocktail bar, but you can also come with your friends, each other a different drink, and have fun trying each other's! Their menu is extensive enough that it allows for that experience. I want to come again! When your bar is 75% empty early on a weekday and you decide to turn away patrons without reservation claiming you're sold out, you're not just losing business from one group -- I'm posting the rude attitude of the host to my IG to warn my friends to also skip this venue. It's not just that she lied about them being full, it's the way she asked us to leave. I just don't understand these places - get featured on a couple of local lists and think they're Daniel or Nobu. read more

I am in looooove! Some of the best cocktails I've had in a long long time! absolutely in awe of the bartenders skills. The drinks don't just look pretty, they're delicious too! Worth every Penny! Please visit!!! The only thing I found weird was that I called the restaurant and they weren't willing to take reservations, but when I showed up there was no walk in limit. It has been over two years since we were here last and I'm just wondering why in the world it took us so long to come back!! I truly adore this location! It is such the right blend of swankiness, prohibition, and just pure elegance! This venue has to be one of my favorite places to have a cocktail, (especially since there are decades worth to choose from)... and just hang with your love to soak in the ambiance and enjoy. The decadence of the drink menu matches the opulence of the venue its self. I seriously just love this place! The selection of artisan cocktails that span generations of time will have you wishing you could try them all. It is a kin to time travel, opening this menu, it will transport you to other periods of time. We also enjoyed their cheese and charcuterie boards... they had a wide blend of flavored items and selections... that were high quality, well thought out, and blended well to create amazing tastes. If you want a quite relaxing evening or spend an evening with adult family members and friends or even to celebrate an occasion in Austin, Texas, I highly recommend The Roosevelt Room. My best friend made a reservation for four of us a week ago. We were welcomed at the entrance by a young girl with a smile on her face and seated at a convenient table at the corner. The ambience is good. It is little dark creating a relaxing atmosphere with nice music. The menu is quite large with several varieties of drinks and food. The staff are very friendly and gave excellent service. Especially our waitress Ms. Hanna is a very enthusiastic young lady with excellent knowledge of the food and drinks. She has a smile in her face all the time. Very attentive to the needs of the customers and suggests appropriate food and drinks as per the taste buds of the guests. We bing vegetarians and one person being a teetotaler, we could use Ms. Hanna's help and totally satisfied with the service and the quality and quantity of the food. Please don't forget to ask for Zombie a rum blend mixed with other fine ingredients and served in a Zombie skull mug decorated and comes with two straws enabling a couple to drink simultaneously from the same mug. The Zombie is presented to the guest with rising flames created with cinnamon powder. Don't forget to taste warm olives. Very delicious. (Wish they are pitted). Humus and pita, popcorn are two other delicious dishes. Highlight is the ZOMBIE for sure. I highly recommend Roosevelt Room in austin for both vegetarians, Vegetarian Plus, teetotalers and those who enjoy alcoholic beverages. Meet the Business Owner: Justin Lavenue and Dennis Gobis ..

Over the last five years, Lavenue and Gobis have helped to shape Austin's cocktail scene to make it what it is today. Both Lavenue and Gobis have made the list for Zagat Austin's "30 Under 30 Culinary Game Changers" and have been rated as Austin's Best Bartender by Eater and the Austin Chronicle, respectively. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

Roosevelt Room is a standout cocktail bar and event venue located in the heart of downtown Austin's historic Warehouse District. The space has a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a night out, special occasion, or simply enjoying thoughtfully crafted cocktails. I came here for the first time recently fly to enjoy after dinner cocktails and catch up with a friend. I started with the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, created by Phil Ward in 2007 at Death & Co. in New York City. This cocktail features reposado tequila, Del Maguey Vida mezcal, maguey sap syrup, mole bitters, Angostura bitters, cassia tincture, and a flamed orange peel. The combination of tequila and mezcal brought a beautiful smoky depth, while the mole bitters and orange peel added layers of spice and richness. It was a unique and memorable twist on a classic Old Fashioned. I ended up liking my friends drink better so traded for the Buck to the Future which was another creative standout, featuring George Dickel Rye Whiskey, Lustau Manzanilla Sherry, strawberry-basil-balsamic purée, Nardini Amaro, ginger syrup, lemon, and barrel-smoked black pepper. This cocktail had an impressive balance of sweet, savory, herbal, and smoky flavors. The strawberry and basil brought a fresh brightness, while the sherry, amaro, and rye created a complex backbone with a subtle peppery finish. I then tried the Penicillin, a classic cocktail created by Sam Ross in 2005 at Milk & Honey in New York City. Roosevelt Room's version combines blended Scotch, Ardbeg 10-year Scotch, honey and ginger syrup, and lemon juice, finished with candied ginger. This review has been long overdue. I love everything about this place. I've been a bunch of times and always meant to leave a review but always have too good of a time while I'm there. After reading a handful of the reviews left by people, there are a few I don't agree with and am quite perplexed. A handful of visits ago, I thought I could walk right in on a Friday night with 4 other friends and was told there would be a 10-minute wait. I said, OK. Why some people would get upset or even snooty about this, like the people after my group, blows my mind. The kind hostess apologized and mentioned that they are similar to a restaurant in how they seat people and that there isn't a lot of available standing room. I understood that. I get it. I couldn't figure out why the couple behind us decided to get snooty and give the hostess attitude. Anytime I go and have to wait, guess what, It's Worth It! Did I have a great time? H- E - to the double hockey stick, YES. Were the drinks the best in the city in presentation and flavor profile? Does a zebra have stripes? YES! Best old fashioned, best manhattan and best house made cocktails plus the other countless beverages I have bought there. To all of those negative reviewers who literally have the same comment about the wait or reservation. That is why they call it a reservation. To all of those who have never been there, You gotta go. Great music, great mezzanine, great environment, overall; GREAT! Kudos to you Roosevelt Room for bringing a one of a kind establishment with the staff, knowledge and passion for a forgotten craft. Interestingly, I visited this bar on a Sunday. Despite my 'thought' of having made a reservation days earlier, it turned out that I hadn't when I checked my email. A quick call was made to inquire about the necessity of a reservation and the expected wait time if not. To cut a long story short, we were promptly seated in the middle row and warmly welcomed by a very kind waiter. The menu featured an extensive list of 'Classic Cocktails,' but naturally, we opted for their signature drinks. The 'cigar box' I ordered was their unique take on the Old Fashioned. Surprisingly, it was much smoother than the traditional version. Don't worry; it's not an actual cigar but a cinnamon stick. The zombie drink may not have a hefty content, but its aesthetic appeal is undeniable! I highly recommend this bar for anyone visiting Austin! read more
