I made reservations for noon on a Saturday & I am glad I did because there were only a few empty tables. The tea room is decorated very cozy & pretty. We were seated immediately by the person tending the front door which by the way was very friendly & inviting. Our server was amazing. She answered all our questions & recommended a few items. It is a great place to meet friends & catch up or just to get away by yourself. I ordered the Chicken Salad w/a side Caesars Salad, the Peach Ginger Green Tea & Coconut Pie - definite a reorder. What an amazing and beautiful place to have lunch! Service was on point and such a delightful experience. The ambience was picturesque and made me forget for a moment that I was in Arlington. I ordered the half turkey sandwich with the soup of the day. To say the least it didn't disappoint! We order the mimosa flight for the table which is a deal if two or more are enjoying one or three! The little plate with sandwich's was not impressive at all, most bread was dried out as made hours ago, the different fillings were spread so thin you could not really tell what it was. It's so pretty and chic inside, the service is pretty good, and the food is yummy. High tea is at 2 everyday and you need a reservation. We were excited about trying it out. 3 courses sounded like a lot of food...but it was not! Your first course is a little plate of tiny sandwiches. For the second course you get 2 scones. And the third course you get a plate of tiny desserts. The meal of course comes with tea. But that was it!!!! For $25! It was cute and fun, and tasted good, but not worth the price per person. And then they charge you gratuity even it's just two people! You are much better off just getting a regular portion of food for $12 max, dessert, and a drink! This is a cute little tea room. My sister wanted to take me to it when I traveled down to visit her, and I like afternoon teas and tearooms. She decided against the afternoon tea because she misread the price - she thought it was $50 per person, which is quality high end afternoon tea in a venue like a ritzy NYC hotel, not a tea attached to a thrift store mall. The mall was meh. The tea room was delightful and well appointed. The wait staff was attentive and prompt and professional. The ambience was designed to absorb sound so even though it was full, it was not overwhelmingly loud. This is a plus! Since this is Texas and it was nearing triple digits, we opted for their signature iced tea. It was sort of like a sangria with a tea base instead of wine - delicious and just what we needed. We each chose the sampler plate as it would be like afternoon tea lite. The menu says "choice of soup" but they only had 1 soup from which to choose - very Ford-like ("You can have any color car you want as long as the color you want is black"). The platter was prettily arranged. The soup was a spicy tortilla soup, which, given it's Texas, shouldn't have been a surprise. It was too spicy for us without something to absorb the heat like a tortilla or part of a bollilo or a telera roll. The "toasties" weren't able to handle this. The sandwich was a green chili quiche - more heat, but the egg and crust made it barely tolerable on the Scoville Scale. Not sure what it tasted like as it was too spicy. The chicken salad was a relief. Also delicious. It was a Waldorf style with grapes, toasted pecans, celery, apple, and chicken. The fruit was fresh and freshly cut - a section of banana, a thin slice of orange cantaloupe, a tiny wedge of pineapple, a sliced strawberry, a handful of grapes with a raspberry poppyseed sauce. The sauce was delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the fruit. We also ordered a dessert each. My sister got a strawberry cake, which came with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. She thought it was delicious. I got the lemon bread pudding. It tasted like a lemon meringue pie. The lemon sauce was thick and custardy in texture. The bread was white bread packed into the bowl with the lemon sauce, topped with a lemon flavored whipped cream and a slice of orange. I really liked it, but I'm not sure the bread part was baked, because it tasted like bread cut into cubes, pushed into the bowl and the lemon sauce poured over, not like stale bread baked in a custard sauce, because the sauce never penetrated the bread. It did, however, spark ideas about using fresh bread for a dessert. It tasted good if not quite what I expected. It will be at least a year before I return, and I don't know if we'll return to this tea room or try a new one. That will be up to my sister. read more

One of my good friends and I always like to go around to these little tea gardens that are always found in antique or secondhand shops around Texas. It's always fun. They normally have a little sampler platter. That always has a little quiche sandwich of the day salad maybe a little dessert. And I really enjoy the rose Teagarden as one of those. I had the egg salad sandwich, broccoli, and cheese, quiche, and soup of the day. It was tasty, they were just starting to close up yet. I was looking for a tea place after shopping at Gracie Lane. There is a line but you are seated pretty quick. I had the pleasure of being greeted by Paul, who was so pleasant and makes you feel excited to be at the place. I was seated in a cute area that felt like you were in an outside garden with birds chirping. The ambiance is so peaceful and pretty. Melissa greeted me and I took all her recommendations. The peach ginger tea cold was refreshing and delicious. The chocolate rose petal cake was yummy. Not to sweet but just perfect. I enjoyed a wonderful rose tea with my dessert. Sunshine decided almost two weeks ago she wanted to feel fancy and attend high tea on her birthday. Unfortunately for her, and it's worth noting if you're interested, 24 hours notice is needed for high tea but we decided we would go and experience the vibe. The Tea Room shares a space with Gracie Lane and it's a perfect pairing. There's plenty of parking and thankfully no line and no waiting on a hot and sunny Thursday brunch hour. When you walk in, the restaurant is to the left. I'm a sucker for exposed brick and fairy lighting so the decor was cute and Sunshine was impressed. We were met by very polite, courteous and attentive wait staff. Staff, possibly the manager, was kind enough to offer to take our picture near the TEA sign. That was greatly appreciated because I often find myself taking pics for Yelp or taking pictures of moments that I'm rarely in the shot with my loved ones. But back to the Tea Room. The ambiance was nice. The name might fool you and you're certainly allowed to put extra work into your appearance but it's not required. Most people were dressed quite casually and personally I like it like that. The menu is small and very specific. We didn't really come with our appetite but if we had, I'd probably have tried the egg salad sandwich. Instead we decided to try the the ginger peach tea and a dessert. She chose the Snickers cheesecake (forgot to get a pic of that) and I chose strawberry cake. Listen!!! That strawberry cake came out warm with the icing slightly melting to perfection and a dollop of whipped cream. When I tell you that was the most delicious and moist strawberry cake I've ever had at any establishment, I mean it. It wasn't fancy with excessive decoration, it was just perfectly delicious and a good serving. Combine the delicious dessert and tea, along with the cute photo opportunities and the shopping at Gracie Lane (and a little thrifting next door at 1/2 and 1/2, we had a eventful little excursion for her birthday. Excellent spot to celebrate a special occasion. I visited to celebrate my birthday and they even offered me some chocolate cake! The cake was moist and had a rich chocolate flavor served with a smooth whipped cream. For my entree, I ordered the Loa salad. A bed of greens with grilled chicken, strawberries, cantaloupe, mandarin oranges, pecans served with a fruity vinaigrette dressing. That said, I ain't afraid of them either -- good food is good food. And, in my experience, The Rose Garden delivers. As tea rooms go, the Rose Garden is impressive in scope (and, apparently popularity). Service was friendly and efficient. My chicken Caesar salad could have been just the standard model, but it was better than average -- dressing wasn't the usual over-sweet glop, but had a nice edge to it (don't know if it actually had anchovies in it, but it at least had the vibe). We had high tea ($26.95) they give you small square pieces if sandwiches ( don't like sweet sandwiches) and they spread a tiny sliver of ingredients between the thick pieces of bread, dry scones and tiny desserts. I only ate 1 spinakopita 1 tiny dry quiche and a tiny lemon bar. I decided to order the chicken crepes and took them home and they were tasteless and mushy. I won't be back. read more

Working with management and staff was a dream. They were always available, helpful, and accommodating. I hosted my sister's bridal shower here and the staff was attentive and super friendly. I worked with Paul and Juanita and have nothing but good things to say about them. We were able to come in and decorate before the party and the room was a decent size for our 25 person party. The room we were in (party room 2) was semi private because anyone walking to the bathroom or going to party room 3 can see into the room. There is a black curtain that you can pull closer to have more privacy but there is no door. I was concerned about hearing the restaurant but we didn't hear any background noise. My mom and I had reservations for 11:30. Despite everyone having reservations the host stand was empty. We were concerned. I started looking around and saw only a couple of servers, the manger, and hostess. All running around like crazy. They were clearly in the weeds. After about 15min they seat us. Our server Mariah was sweet and apologizing. They were short staffed as I had assumed. My mom and I went in knowing this would be longer then planned but ok. The food was as good as we remembered. The whole time all the staff was busting their butts making sure everything was taken care of. The manger was wiping table, clearing plates ect. I was genuinely impressed with how well and fast the staff were working together. I'm only giving it 4 because they were out of coconut pie then came back after I ordered pumpkin pie and said that was also out. So just wished they would have had more on hand, but that's it. A DISAPPOINTING HIGH TEA EXPERIENCE I made reservations for high tea two months in advance for my birthday, specifically requesting a table under the gazebo. The lady jotted it down in a notebook full of notes (no organization at all) and of course, when we got there I asked the same lady if it was under the gazebo, and not to my surprise they already sat another party there. I was not going to wait for it so I let that slide and sat at the available table. I could have looked past that mistake but the entire experience from start to finish was terrible. The service was severely lacking. While our waitress was friendly, she was stretched far too thin, attending to numerous tables in a packed restaurant with only about three servers. We rarely saw her, and when she did stop by, it was rushed, leaving us no chance to ask questions about the high tea, which had no descriptions on the menu. The food was underwhelming, to say the least. The three courses consisted of a single plate of 5 bite-size sandwiches, the second course was ONE tiny scone with jam and cream, and the third was a plate of overly sweet assorted desserts (I was so disappointed, didn't even take a picture of it). I would often look past the food for the aesthetic but we didn't even get that! We were expecting tiered plates and charming tea sets. Instead our tea pots were in plane metal pots and the food was served on regular plates. We asked the server about it and she said it was because there were so many people having high tea that they ran out of the nice tea pots and the tier trays are only served for parties of two. With a party of six, couldn't we have been provided three sets of tiered plates? -_____- The whole reason I chose this venue was for the charming high tea aesthetic, but it failed to deliver on every level. Suggestions for Improvement: 1. Be more organized with your reservations taking 2. Hire more waiters 3. Serve more and better food for the high tea for the price you charge 4. I ordered the Rose Garden Variety because I wanted to try everything. The chicken salad was particularly good and everything was fresh. The daily soup was chicken tortilla and the quiche was a green chile, both of which were lovely. The pumpkin bread was impressive and a nice compliment to the plate. The service was on the slow side, but the place was packed, so im not counting that against them, and our waitress was excellent. WOW ! So last year my girlfriends started a yearly "Galentines" tea. We went to The Secret Garden tea room at the Montgomery St Antique mall and for $13 per person for a table of 15 we got SO much food we had leftovers of A variety of Tea Sandwiches, little desserts, scones and our own pot of tea. We wanted to try someone different this year and chose the Rose Garden Tea Room. NEVER AGAIN! For 15 they made us get the "Rose Garden Variety" which is a $13.95 plate but they charged everyone $25 which included a 20% Tip. Now the Variety plate has Quiche, Chicken Salad, Fruit and a cup of Soup. They didn't even give us the crunchy bread cracker things that you normally get. There were two children under 10 at the table. You'd think they'd ask them about wanting someone different, maybe a children's plate or something? Nope. The kids under 10 that easily could have nibbles off their mom's plates were charged $25 for this variety plate that neither even ate half of. I'm allergic to Egg White. I told the server and she told me I can't have the Quiche and she'll replace it with a salad if that's okay....I replied, Well if that's all you are offering me then I guess it will do. A different server brought my food out and said I heard you are allergic to Egg? Well you can't have the chicken salad either...... Even though the first server told me it was made with yogurt not mayonnaise. So this other server took my plate and as everyone else was eating and I waited another 10 minutes for mine. A pitiful green salad two slivers of pumpkin bread and some pieces of fruit were brought to me. THAT'S IT! I was SHOCKED. I'm NOT a vegetarian. Why didn't they bring me the same soup everyone else has? And how is plain lettuce and two cherry tomatoes a proper replacement for chicken salad and quiche. I told the server that I BETTER not be charged $25 for this. Finally the original server came back and asked how everything was and I told her I wasn't happy, I'm not a vegetarian so why was the soup taken away from me and why isn't the turkey sandwich a proper substitute for chicken salad AND a quiche that I couldn't have? So she ended up bringing that to me. This alone was a sorry experience. Now the 20% automatic gratuity would make you think if you are paying more for a tip you'd get more attentive service right? I mean it's not like the server has to work harder since they aren't taking orders since we were forced to have the variety plate. After the food was brought we were abandoned. I literally walked to the server area that had the pitchers of tea and water and refilled my glass twice, as did everyone else at our table. When we were finished and wanted to open some gifts we brought each other we BUSSED OUR OWN TABLE. Yep, most of us grabbed out own plates and put it on the server station. I went to the bathroom and came back and a check was at my place. The server NEVER asked if we wanted anything else. No Coffee, NO dessert. Nothing! We all left still hungry and extremely upset with the level of service we received. They should have paid us a 20% tip. I won't even go into the bleak room they stuck us in. Overall I felt like we were being punished. If it wasn't for the love and friendship of the group of extremely friendly and amazing women (whom were all very forgiving to this place) then I'd say the event was ruined but we love each other too much to let an overpriced place with horrible service ruin our day. It's located in Gracie Lane Shops. This business moved from Decorator's Warehouse on Pioneer Parkway. Now it's on busy South Cooper, near a Walmart Super Center, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Calloway's Nursery, etc. It's also across the street from Tin Tulip Tea Room. The Rose Garden was large and busy, yet not noisy at all. It was dark, but beautifully decorated with lots of small lights that give a festive feel. My wife chose the sampler: soup, fruit salad, chicken salad, pumpkin bread with cream cheese and quiche. I chose the special of the day: chicken in mushroom sauce with Mediterranean rice. We both had their special tea. Everything was good. We both really liked the pumpkin bread. The chicken in mushroom sauce was good too. It was a pretty sophisticated spread for a "tearoom". Apart from a cracked glass, the service was very good. We didn't have to wait long for our orders. The waitress was very polite and made us feel welcomed. Though I still found the food at Tin Tulip more flavorful, everything else was great. It was a nice lunch. I recommend it. read more
