Our Mom recently moved into The Royal Inn I and has been treated like a part of the family. The main caregiver has been there for over eight years and goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. Most recently, they celebrated a 99 year-old birthday with dancing and music. The Royal Inns 1 is a great find. One of the hardest events one has is moving a loved one to a residental care facility. The Royal Inns managed by Al and his family made this transition a comfortable and wise decision. The on-site staff is beyond "staff" and actually becomes "the extended family". Not once did my Mother and her family feel we made a wrong decision. Better yet, my Dad loved the place and thanked me every visit for finding this home. This limited bed (6 beds I believe) facility allowed excellent care for my Dad. The tasty daily meals, the day-to-day care, the cleanliness and extended warmth to all that enter is hard to be beat (really can't be beat). They arrange for onsite visits for doctors and personal care beyond the staff's abilities. As my Dad slowly lost his abilities of movement and hearing, the staff kept us abreast of all acitivity and his needs. The facility is consistently updated. I thank Al and his family and staff for making my Dad feel as home as possible. If (okay when) my day comes, I will be more than happy to become a resident. After taking care of my mom full time for 9 years it became apparent it was time to place her in a home health care facility. My first call was to Al at the Royal Inns due to the location close to family. I had my daughter in law go over and check it out first since she is in a related business and said she would know in 5 seconds where it is good or not. She thought it looked okay so I made an appointment for the next day. I had one son that told me need to check out a lot of places first so I took him along. When we walked out he told me he was very impressed and thought it was perfect for grandma. My mom has been there now for2 months and Darwin and Joan are absolutely incredible. They take excellent care of her, keep me informed on any concerns and have really made her feel at home. Darwin even plays cards with her every afternoon knowing that's her favorite thing to do! My mom loves the food and they even let her go in the kitchen and help herself to snacks. Im sure it is as close to living at home as any facility I could have ever found. I had heard so many horror stories about homes so was so scared to leave my mom anywhere I am so grateful there was an opening when I needed it and never have had a second thought that it is the perfect place for mom! I never wanted to put my mom in a retirement home because of where my friends parents ended up. As soon as I saw The Royal Inns, my mind was changed. It's cheerful and homey. The living room has these floor to ceiling sliding doors and the view is really nice. The food is good (yes, I have tasted some of my moms lunch) and it's the kind of food she's used to eating. The caregivers (Darwin, Jean and Ian) are so good to my mom. They really care about her and I know she likes them. I would highly recommend The Royal Inns to my friends and family. read more

This place has amazing history of caring for elderly and has great relations with doctors and nurses that they worked with either with home health , hospices and other medical workers that involved in part of the package of caring even if the person unable to visit doctor's office anymore they have connection with Housecall doctor that can be arrange , if you want your parents, grandparents or family member to get the best care this is the best place that you can get and don't forget they have great quality and delicious food and variety of menu , activities and knowledgeable employees and great owner . read more

Our mom had been living on her own in nearby Laguna Woods for quite a few years. After having some health challenges, my brother and I began the search for a place that would fit our mom's needs and for a place that we would both feel comfortable with. We looked at quite a few places before locating the Royal Inns. We met with Al Shelly the owner and immediately felt a sigh of relief. Al runs a tight ship and the place is immaculate and the staff our extremely attentive. The key for our mom was "stable medicine, stable diet and stable routine"and that's exactly what is provided at the Royal Inn. December of this year will be our mom's 7th anniversery at the Royal Inn making her the longest tenured resident. My mom is a 77-year-old woman has suffered multiple strokes resulting in right-side paralysis, which has caused her to be wheelchair-bound. We moved her from a rehab facility to the Royal Inns about a year ago. I have been amazed by Al Shelley and his entire staff. Al has gone out of his way to work with the insurance company and her conservator to make the billing process as smooth as possible. In addition to the daily care they have provided, Darwin and Joan have gone out of their way to do special little things to make my mom feel more comfortable and at home here. They have even continued to with some of her physical therapy routines. I have nothing but positive things to say about this group. I would rate them higher if the scale allowed it. read more

I was searching high and low for a Board and Care home for my 91 year old grandmother who fell and no longer could no longer live at home. I visited about 15 homes in Lake Forest and Mission Viejo. I came across their website and the two homes they have looked nice so I gave them a call. The customer service and assistance they provided was mind blowing! They actually did not have a room available for my grandmother however Al spent so much time on the phone with me giving me numbers of places he would recommend. He was so generous with his time and really wanted to help. I actually ended up visiting his Ridge Route home and I was so impressed! The staff was very attentive to all the patients, everyone there appeared to be well taken care of and happy. It smelled good and was very clean! The location is beautiful with a garden, large windows and it was very bright. I can't say enough about Al and his wife Nanci. They really care about people and are willing to bend over backwards to help! If you do not want your loved one in a nursing home and you are unable to take care of them in their own home please consider The Royal Inns. It is not an easy decision to make, Al will help you 100% of the way. read more
