To be honest, Teton Thai was only open for takeaway ... so went back to Yelp to find an alternate. The Royal Wolf was the top leader in the polls. It was a good choice. Cold, rainy day and needed filling food, in a calm and friendly atmosphere. The RW provided what we need both in sustenance, while providing a calming atmosphere. Large party in today's COVID19 standards, seven of us -- two tables. Worked out just fine though. Hamburgers, pot stickers, Salsa and chips, small salad (with locally hydroponically grown lettuce) was overflowing the plate. Lemonades, Corona, unsweetened tea ... and great service provided. Cute women's restroom, all the menfolk said was their restroom was small and okay. read more

Amended Review: Back to 4 stars We did go back a few days later and had a typical great experience. Good food and drink and really nice wait staff. Not sure why she was so mean but I guess we all have crappy days now and then! The one star doesn't reflect the food or most of the great staff, but just one woman on your staff - and I'd give her zero stars if that option was available. We are local and we eat here all the time. Tonight we brought some out of town guests to the Wolf because it's one of our favorite places. There's a white board as you walk up with something amounting to "we don't serve fast food.." that side was facing the entrance because my cousin laughed about it. We waited for a bit but there was no staff around so we seated ourselves at an empty table like we've done a thousand times. We know about the staffing shortage in the valley so we waited and chatted. Finally a gal came out and loudly and angrily asked if we seated ourselves. It was loud enough that other diners looked over at us. Instead of just talking to us at the table she marched back to the entrance and flipped the sign around that said please wait to be seated. After apologizing that we hadn't seen that side of the sign. She said we needed to get up and wait by the sign. The four of us thought she was kidding. Its worth noting that there had been multiple groups of people walking in and getting sitting at empty tables since we sat down, and there wasn't anyone outside waiting on a table. We seemed to be the only ones to get this treatment. The four of us got up as she demanded, walked out and ate dinner elsewhere. I was surprised and super embarrassed that we had brought friends there and by how incredibly rude this server was to us. I've never had a waitress act like that. I get it that serving is hard work but she needs to consider a new field to work in, she's driving away customers. I really like the Wolf but I'm not sure when I come back now. I absolutely won't have her for a server if she is working. read more

We were exploring the Tetons today and when we were driving through Driggs, we were hungry for American food. We stopped here and let me just tell you... that was one of the best decisions we've made all day!!! I got the turkey bacon avocado sandwich with chipotle aioli. And it was literally the best sandwich I've ever had. Ever... and I've had a lot of sandwiches. The fries are amazing! My husband loves the burger. He wishes every time he got a burger from somewhere it would taste like that. We got the mini corn dogs too because we were starving when we got there. They're okay, great appetizer if you're starving but they're just mini corn dogs. Nothing special like our entrees. Side note: the patio is DOG-FRIENDLY! This was great for us passing through with our pup. We will be back any time we have family in town!! read more

The Royal Wolf is a well loved watering hole for our family, with rotating taps to always keep things interesting. The food menu keeps you on your toes as well! Even as someone who doesn't eat meat, I could still come here every week for a year and still not try menu item and combo I want to on the menu. I also love their commitment to supporting local, whether it be carrying local beers or sourcing local oyster mushrooms for their dishes. I should also mention, the last time we came with mobility-impaired grandparents in tow, the staff at were hands down the most accommodating in helping us get seated quickly and comfortably, even on a busy night. We look forward to many more nights at the Wolf. read more

I would have never thought to make a fried green tomato sandwich, but it really makes sense. This sandwich was absolutely phenomenal. Also, their fries? Perfect. I was excited to stop here on the way to Big Sky from Jackson Hole. They're off a side street and have a good amount of parking and a big patio. There's a good beer selection. We waited almost 1 hour for our food and the hostists in the bar were screaming curse words in front of little kids and didn't even care. My family's food as burnt and our waitress didn't even notice us when we needed refills and practically ignored us and our service was lackluster. Very dissapoontimg because it was my mom's birthday and we wanted her to have a good dinner and not have a migraine after the girl hostist was slamming glass plates into the big pile. And when we first got there the hostist basically said that we aren't allowed to come in. It was mega loud with people screaming and hooting and hollaring. Very disappointing . read more

My family ended up in Driggs on our vacation by accidentally booking a room at the Super 8 thinking we were staying in Jackson. We went with it and were referred to The Royal Wolf by Jim at the desk. We ordered the pork chimichanga, fried green tomato tacos, pork tacos and the bison burger. All of us were excited with our meals. We shared and all liked everything. We all strongly encourage you to make an effort to stop in for dinner and a huckleberry martini. P.S. The trip up (and down) Teton Pass Hwy is enough to work up an appetite and thirst! Decided to stop in after a long day of hiking with our family. Group of 6, outside seating was easy. Dog was allowed on the patio, major plus. Alcoholic drinks were spot on, dinner was delish. One of the few places in town open for lunch. When we were there, they were very busy and service was a tad bit slow, but very friendly. I ordered some of the best truffle fires I've ever had!! The pollock fish and chips were delicious but for $10 I wish I would have gotten less chips and one more piece of fish (you only get 2). My husband had the turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich and it was huge! It was yummy and worth every penny of the $15. My only real complaint is that I ordered a margarita but what I got was a tequila and orange juice. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't a margarita. Expected a better experience based on the average rating. Should have read the reviews. They have a sign at the door that they are not fast, so our expectations were not high. After waiting over an hour while watching the kitchen and wait staff goofing around as if they were drinking and having a great time, food was finally delivered. Salads were delicious, except the Cobb had blue cheese after asking that it come without. Chimichanga was not only burnt to a charred crisp, but it was tough and hard as though it had been sitting a long time. Because we were so anxious to get out of there, did not send it back. The bill included 2 entrees that we first ordered but they had run out. We are not picky and it is rare for me to post a negative review. Will not return. read more

A friend and I went there for dinner on Monday evening. We were seated on the patio a little after 7pm. It was fifteen minutes before a petite waitress (Sarah, I believe?) came by the table and took our order - a bottle of Cabernet, two steak dinners (most expensive item on the menu), and two Caesar salads. 45 minutes later, we still had no food. Meanwhile, people who had sat down after us (with the same server, no less) had finished their meals and paid their bills. When we asked Sarah - twice - about our meal, she was rude and dismissive. Finally, we left $35 cash to pay for the bottle of wine, went to the grocery to buy two steaks and a bag of Caesar salad, went home, grilled the steaks and watched the Bills-Jets. Good game. Whether Sarah quietly pocketed the $35 cash and then whined to her manager that we had walked the check, I do not know. After reading many other similar reviews, it is obvious this place has big issues with consistently acceptable service and food quality. Be advised, if you go there, you take your chances. read more

We rode our bikes from Victor Idaho to this is great little little restaurant recommended by Dawn at Teton Aviation. Excellent service from Eric in the afternoon. Great pulled pork sandwich and ample, delicious fries. Came back the next day for dinner and had excellent service again with Jessica. The chicken piccata was on point. Pretty decent food, takes forrreevvvwrrr to get your food though! We had a Buffalo chicken sandwich and chimichanga, and truffle fries. Fries got soggy pretty quick before we even got halfway through them. Chimichanga was not bad, good flavor. Buffalo chicken sandwich was disappointing because not too crispy, and too much of the wing sauce that took over all the flavor. Just make sure you set aside like 2 hours to go here because between getting there, getting menus, ordering and getting your food... you'll be waiting a while. read more

I'm from Louisiana, and I almost sucked my damn fingers off after eating the boiled shrimp; I only got 1/4 lb to be safe since I'm not on the gulf anymore, and had I eaten in instead of getting take out, I'd have ordered more! I was dining in a couple of weeks ago when a plate was brought out to someone else; I smelled them instantly- such a head turner! so glad I gave them a try- saved my southern life out here!!
