A friend and I went there for dinner on Monday evening. We were seated on the patio a little after 7pm. It was fifteen minutes before a petite waitress (Sarah, I believe?) came by the table and took our order - a bottle of Cabernet, two steak dinners (most expensive item on the menu), and two Caesar salads. 45 minutes later, we still had no food. Meanwhile, people who had sat down after us (with the same server, no less) had finished their meals and paid their bills. When we asked Sarah - twice - about our meal, she was rude and dismissive. Finally, we left $35 cash to pay for the bottle of wine, went to the grocery to buy two steaks and a bag of Caesar salad, went home, grilled the steaks and watched the Bills-Jets. Good game. Whether Sarah quietly pocketed the $35 cash and then whined to her manager that we had walked the check, I do not know. After reading many other similar reviews, it is obvious this place has big issues with consistently acceptable service and food quality. Be advised, if you go there, you take your chances. read more

This place was great! We were here on vacation and stopped by. The inside is loud but the patio was so nice. Good service, and the food was awesome. I had the Carolina Philly. It was delicious and came with home made fries..... appropriate for Idaho! My partner and friends had ravioli, and a bison burger... also delicious. So many great places to eat in such a small town. Server was great. Beer was good. Food was marginal. If your gonna have a "Buffalo" chicken sandwich. TOSS IT IN SAUCE. Not just a dribble. Too much breaded chicken flavor. We then got the chicken fried steak sandwich. It came plain on a bun with LTO. Didn't get a picture but it was pathetic looking. At least have some gravy on it ( we thought it did.. didn't know they would come plain/dry?) we ended up getting like a mushroom bourbon glaze that saved the day but really really surprised a place would serve that plain and dry. Overall glad we stopped but definitely HAD higher expectations for the food. If we're back we'll probably stop again but wouldn't get the same meals. The food was excellent. Like a thousand stars for the food! We started it some wings. I love how they were cooked! I got the veggie cheesesteak. Less the cheese. Very good portion! Along with a side salad. My friend got the blt with fries. Great fries! My other friend wanted the Buffalo chicken sandwich, but the waiter advised against it. Maybe a smart thing, after another review I saw. She ended up getting a flavorless Philly. There was just nothing to it, kinda like deli meat on a bun. However, again the fries were great. We came here for dinner from Jackson on our way to West Yellowstone,... and this place absolutely beat any expectation we had for a casual, family friendly dinner. The outdoor, front patio area is very charming with great ambience. I truly enjoyed my house salad with an additional of pork belly. (I like to eat salad as an entree on vacation). The salad was so fresh and refreshing. The pork belly was so crispy and flavorful. My hubs enjoyed every bite of his rib eye, mashed potatoes and green beans. (Side note, he gets a rib eye wherever we travel and this one was spot on). My extremely picky son crushed the Buffalo chicken and blue cheese sandwich and ate a fresh salad as a side option. My daughter raved over the mini corn dogs. I tried one and it was sooo good. There's something for everyone here, if you're every in the area it's a must!!! read more

Stopped in on a trip through the area. I read the previous reviews and decided to give it a try. We sat out on the front deck and enjoyed our evening. We had a group of five with various items ordered. I had the Cobb salad and loved every bite. There were two horses tied up next to the deck and a visiting dog which we just loved. After waiting hours to order, getting overpriced bland food, getting the wrong food, not getting refills on water or drinks after asking, we left a 20% tip so we didn't have to wait for change from a $100 bill. Another guest shouted out that we were leaving without paying and when we approached the waitress who messed up the order and didn't ever bring the drinks ordered but confirmed she got the $100, she had the gall to yell at us that she was expecting a way bigger tip "I was expecting $30-40"!! She and the drunk local guest started yelling at us to 'f-Ing' leave while the drunk guest asked if anyone had a pocket knife!!! For your safety, stay away from this place that allows their staff to yell at customers while encouraging others to make violent threats! read more

We ordered the truffle fries and they were great. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a cool breeze, despite loud construction nearby. Not their fault, and the end result will be nice sidewalks. We still enjoyed the patio and good beer. We were warmly greeted by a male bartender inside, who told us to wait on the patio for our server. He kindly gave us menus. The female server was not as warm or kind. I'm always shocked by sub-par service from a server. It's such a large part of the job (I was a server for years). Oooh...I wanted this place to work. Yelp says it's good for kids and had a lot of Stars. It was at best, meh. It has way more of a bar feel than I expected (the kind of bar you go to to get drunk in college, not the kind that you go to as an adult for good food and beer). Our large group was placed WAY in the back. By the exhaust fan. It was super hot and loud. The food, not great, even by bar food standards. Beer and spirits selection was small. And the service, downright awful. Every thing our waitress did took about 10 min (even getting silverware), and finally the bill was the last straw. She didn't come back to get it after 20 min and we had to find the manager so we coulda leave. Find somewhere else to go if you can. Not good for kids. Not good for food. Not good for service. When in Driggs, we never miss a chance to swing by the Wolf and our visits are typically in the winter after a long day of skiing. The bar staff and regulars have always been welcoming and fun, which can be uncommon to Eastern Idaho. We have even been guilty of joining the bar by having an occasional shot after a Billy Idol song plays... Being a native Idahoan, I like the Wolf because in the winter it reminds me of the ski bars of my youth (Ketchum, Brundage, and at the base of Bogus Basin). The crowd always seems fun, the bartenders are engaging, and the food is consistent and always good. We have enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp, hog wings (get the sesame chili sauce!) and tacos. read more

Fantastic service, great local craft beer! Exactly what we were looking for. We were staying at an Air B&B about a block away, and the owner recommended The Royal Wolf as a good place for a quick craft brew, and TRW did not disappoint! The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable (we are so embarrassed we didn't catch his name), the beer selection was fantastic, and the location casual and comfortable. We made conversation with another couple who lived in the area. They said TRW was a regular spot for them, and I can see why. They gave the food high praise (we did not order food, only drinks). We would most definitely return to Driggs... and The Royal Wolf! read more

First off they were very busy. I understand it's hard times hiring staff right now, but know when to cut off your clientele or warn them how backed up the kitchen is. Also I'm guessing due to hiring problems whoever is cooking is either not trained to do so or overwhelmed. Our burger was awful, overcooked and no flavor. The bacon was so overcooked also that it was a hunk of inedible something. Truly the worst meal we have had while on this vacation. Due to the construction on the road it's a little hidden gem - food for ever taste pallet. Kids were especially happy since they offered kids size potato's skins and a giant baked potato , chicken Parmesan , BLT local ingredient salad and steak sandwich were excellent - we loved the outdoor patio atmosphere so much we came back a second day l. In town for s Ski trip to Targhee, we had a leaky tire and was getting it fixed at the local favorite Kaufman Tire, they were super nice. See that review soon. Anyway, Kathryn at the tire store recommended the Wolf as one of her all time local favorites. So off we went to have dinner there. Super clean, country decorated Bar Restaurant, The food was very very good. Had the mini corn dog and crawfish apps, both cooked perfectly and seasoned just as nicely. ( I'd highly recommend the crawfish ) My son had the tacos,( chicken ) beautiful plated with lots of fresh veggies and avocado. He loved them. I had the buffalo burger and a side caesar , the Burger was Perfect, Med Rare, hot, seasoned well, the salad while beautiful to look at fresh and vibrant was a little spicy ( Hot ) perhaps a little heavy on the garlic and short on the lemon juice. First of all the food was very good, the "experience" however was far from good. We sat at our table without anyone acknowledging our existence for at least 20 minutes (it was not busy at all). We had a girl and guy kind of going back and forth taking care of us & both were beyond rude. Our tickets were thrown at us, they rolled their eyes when we had a question, we had to walk to the bar to order drinks because the servers came by the table maybe 3 times over the course of a hour and a half, two of us got the wrong meal, we were not told about upcharges on something we ordered (it was an $8 upcharge for one side salad) & their attitudes were extremely negative and belittling. The only one that was kind and had incredible customer service was the bartender. He needs to give all of the servers a lesson on customer service. I have never left a negative review, but after our experience I had no choice. I hope it improves in the future, and thank you to the bartender for making such a crappy experience a little bit better! read more
