Rumor Meal is off a beaten path tucked among other small businesses deep in Pasadena. This place reminds me of 84 Beacon Street, and comes a close second because everyone here knew everyone and families came in by truckloads during my visit. Service was attentive and welcoming! Appetizers, sandwiches, and all things pub style I wanted something simple for a somewhat late (for me) meal. I went with the shrimp salad on brioche with sweet potato fries. I prefer my lettuce crisp, limpy no thanks, so I opted for tomatoes and raw onions. The fries were still sizzlin' off the frier it burned my tongue lol. Absolutely wonderful dinner for 5! We went kayaking with the Canton Kayak Club yesterday and had no idea where to go for dinner and the looked on Yelp and saw The Rumor Meal. What a wonderful late lunch. The atmosphere was great, we were wet from Kayaking and sat outside. The outside space was really relaxing, large area with bar overlooking a marina. Regular tables as well as tall tops. Great cocktails, cold beer and really wonderful food. I had grilled scallops, mashed potatoes (the kind I would like to make if I ever had time) and really perfectly sautéed asparagus. I had one son who had a perfect soft shelled crab BLT, another son who had a fried chicken sandwich, a daughter had a delicious cheese pizza and I accidentlly on purpose ate the leftovers this morning before she woke up because it was so good. Highly recommend. I can't wait to go back and try the seafood platter and the gumbo. Wonderful venue and wonderful menue; can't recommend enough. After four plus years of living in Pasadena, we finally made it to The Rumor Meal last night! I am so mad at myself for waiting this long. I always heard great things but for some reason it took us a while to go. Quite honestly, I had never been that far down Mountain Road before. Upon arrival the parking lot was a bit full but I was able to snag a spot right up front as someone pulled out. Upon entering we went to the bar area and saw no available bar or table seats. Having never been there before, I assumed that was the whole restaurant. I didn't know there was an additional room behind it. After walking back to the lobby area we initially considered take out but fortunately we were saved by an awesome employee who escorted us to an open table in the back. We were immediately greeted by our server, Ashlynn, who provided EXCELLENT service from start to finish. We started with honey old bay boneless wings, buffalo bone in wings and an order of fries. I last minute threw in a side of gravy for the fries. I didn't get much flavor out of the gravy at all. Not the end of the world. My husband ordered a cheesesteak that came with chips. He thoroughly enjoyed his entire meal. I ordered a couple sliders: fried green tomato BLT and the meatball one. I enjoyed both. There were a couple other that I would have tried but I didn't want to overdo it. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza to go so he had lunch the following day. He liked his pizza and said he would definitely order it again. When we were asked if we wanted anything additional before the kitchen closed we quickly threw an order of funnel cake fries in. I had been eyeing them since we first sat down and saw the menu. Holy cow were they good! The chocolate sauce that comes with them was delicious and the funnel cake fries were cooked perfectly. I have a feeling we will order them on every future visit. The restaurant itself was super clean and had plenty of TVs for you to catch the games. The bathrooms were clean as well. Where to start We got a great seat NEAR the bathroom Why would you put a table in front of the bathroom door, Every time somebody opens the bathroom door I could see the toilet from my table Unbelievable Maddie, the waitress asked do you want your Cream of crab soup with your cheesesteak? OR Soup First I said Soup first please They both came out at the same time. Delivered to the table by someone else The soup was warm and the cheese steak was moist on the bottom, (almost wet) And barely warm. Apparently we were all waiting on one person's Chicken sandwich. We decided to stop for a quick lunch here after taking our dog to the dog beach. Located in a mini strip mall but had a nice outdoor seating area, too bad the view is of the parking lot & passing traffic ahead but otherwise not unpleasant. We had the Rumor nachos with chorizo for $11.99 . Although a good serving for two, it needed more cheese and the small sprinkle of chorizo just didn't cut it. We also ordered the Jumbo wings - buffalo style. They were large & meaty, quite good but it could've been a bit more spicy. The margaritas were very good! At $4 a glass, it was a bargain. Service was excellent, fast & attentive! We would definitely go back for those margaritas & try the rest of the menu. We heard a lot of good things about this place and were finally able to check it out. We went on a Tuesday night so it wasn't busy at all which was nice. Looked like a nice bar area. They were playing some classic 90's hits which I most definitely approve of. We got the nachos with seasoned beef to start with. While they were pretty tasty, there wasn't very much of them. I think if you're paying that much for an appetizer you should definitely get more. Since it was burger night, my husband got the crunchwrap burger with chips and I got the pear and gorgonzola salad. His burger was really good but the chips were incredibly stale. My salad had fruit flies flying all over it... it was also not the biggest portion. I was very disappointed. Bottom Line: Friendly staff, tasty casual cuisine and a comfortable atmosphere. The Rumor Meal is worth the trip down into the depths of 'Dena. This neighborhood bar and grill opened earlier this summer and offers a full bar and lots of Maryland comfort food. The decor is comfortable, they have sports on the TVs and the staff is friendly and attentive. Everything on the menu sounded appetizing and enjoyable. My husband and I had the crab pretzel, shrimp salad wrap with onion rings and chicken Caesar wrap with fries. That feast was a great start to curing our hangovers and we enjoyed our leftovers later in the day. For drinks we stuck to caffeinated beverages including a diet Coke and iced tea. The marker on Yelp was showing The Rumor Meal in the wrong location but I sent a note to Yelp so hopefully that will get fixed quickly. This is one of our regular places. We love to Rumor Meal - the menu is great and the food is consistently really good and very tasty. Some of our favorites include the burger wrap and the Dena bird (fried is extra delicious!). We love that they have tater tots as a side. The only thing we are ever sad about is when we are craving Rumor Meal and they're closed on Mondays. We just look forward to them being open on Tuesday! Been dining in and ordering carryout since the Rumor Meal opened...always enjoyed but tonight was a disaster. Relatives visited and we decided to get carry out. They insisted that they pay for the food since we treated last time. The bill plus tip was $114... the food was terrible! Soups were cold along with all 3 crab soups that truly lacked crab in them, meatballs were room temp and the boneless wings were so hard my aunt couldn't eat them. I was 10 minutes early to pick up the food and it was already bagged and ready to go. (Who knows how long it had been sitting there). I was so embarrassed that I offered to take it back and show a manager but was talked out of doing so. We managed a meal with sharing a Cobb salad and a salmon salad along with some leftovers from home. RUMOR has it if you have a MEAL here you won't be disappointed. Crab pretzel was the appetizer and we were surely appetized after we finished it in record timing, 3 minutes and 13 seconds exactly. We got wings (don't even ask, the ranch, blue cheese, celery and wipes are on the house) and a steak salad. The salad was as big as my ego, but I ate the whole thing. My boyfriend said the wings had some serious rizz and rated them an A-.The service was servicing, silverware and menus were provided without request. I'd heard about this place and passed it several times. We finally got around to going and we will certainly be back. Went for dinner and it was pretty busy. It boasts a big menu. There isn't much in the way of waiting area but the wait wasn't long and we were quickly seated. I couldn't decide so got the personal pizza. Just the right size and cheesy goodness. Standard fare kids menu that I couldn't tell you anything about because my kid was being ridiculous. Hubby got the meatball sub. It smelled soooo good. I heard from a little birdie that they will be expanding in the mall area and giving them more seating which will be good. It's pretty tight inside. First of all, be aware that the menu you find online does NOT match the online ordering menu for carryout. My Rumor Salad is advertised that it comes WITH steak... "A delicious Flat Iron Steak grilled to your liking served on a bed of Romaine, Arugula, Tomatoes and Crumbled Gorgonzola Cheese. Served with your choice of dressing and Rumor Bread" for $8.50 Well... once I selected the salad it asked me for my choice of chicken, steak, for shrimp for $10 ... so common sense Lee me to believe that it was asking if I wanted additional meat. I said no (because it was already advertised that it comes with steak). And who wants to pay $20 for A SALAD. So what I ACTUALLY recieved was a bed of arugula and romaine lettuce -- and that's it. In addition, we asked for fries on the side of my husbamds sub, which was an extra $2. But we were given chips instead. So long story short, I'm not ordering from here again. So my gf and I decided to Rumer Reel in Pasadena, MD on 7-5-21. When we got there we were told we needed a reservation but not told that when we called. Then we were told we could be seated.. WOOHOO. We ordered drinks, crushes. She didn't like hers. We then order the sunken crab soup with crab cake and Sherry. It was very thick and the Sherry was either watered down or cooking Sherry, the mini crab cake had lots of filler. Rockfish bites were next, more like tenders but not so bad just more breading then fish. The male owner comes over and ask how everything was, I was honest and told him. Well Mr. Man didn't appreciate my honesty and told us we could leave he'd take care of the bill and rolled his eyes. If he didn't want honest answers don't ask questions and don't ask guest to leave because they give them. Our server was excellent and the woman who I am guessing is the wife of the owner was very nice as well when we answered her questions. 01/06/2019 We literally live around the corner from this restaurant. We wanted to go out to eat somewhere close and remembered a friend telling us about this place. So to The Rumor Meal for Sunday brunch! From the moment we walked in, we loved it! The decor is great, lots of wood and metal...very cute. The staff was very friendly. Now for the food...my husband ordered the breakfast cheese steak...it was huge and delish!! The steak was thinly shaved and cheesy (we are from Philly and know a good steak!). My daughter ordered the breakfast quesadilla with bacon...so good. I ordered the breakfast pretzel...oh. my. goodness....huge soft pretzel with scrambled eggs, choice of meat...I chose the canadian ham...(it was dry and the best I had ever tasted) then covered with melted mozzarella cheese. This was not for the calorie counter but I had to try! We will go back for the Happy Hour specials and the Daily Dpecials... and I'm not sure if it's a good thing to be around the corner from this great restaurant! read more

This was the first time I had eaten in at the Rumor Meal. Once before we ordered carry out. Our server was fantastic. The chicken wings were excellent. Monday was burger night, 6.00$ but if you get any toppings the its 2.00$ more. Chips are included but we opted for onion rings and french fries. So a meal that could have cost 6.00 now cost 12.00$. The chef forgot onions on both burgers.the bun wasn't heated so it was dry, 4 onion ring under cooked french fries and no pickle to be seen.
