Drove by Knolls last night after dining at a nearby restaurant. The restaurant was jam packed with people standing inside and outside at the entrance. Came back to check it out tonight. I had the salmon salad and that was very good. Salmon was done perfectly. Not under nor overcooked and did not taste fishy at all. Great job, Knolls kitchen! My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with goat cheese , bacon, and avocado on ciabatta bread with sweet potato fries and he said that was also very good. We had Samantha as our server. Service was decent. They all appeared to be working really hard, especially the "boys". They were busy and moved around very fast. Love that music. The band was great. Knolls has become such a fun little escape from my everyday routine. Whether I stroll in at 2pm after pickleball or 6pm on a weekend night, the vibe is always consistent! Great music, amazing drinks, delicious sea bass, and epic service. The live bands are always so much fun, but what really makes Knolls special is the owner, Lauren. They have a great indoor - outdoor feeling along with these wonderful blue lights that give you just the right vibe. The band was playing and the place was full of seemingly very happy people, so conversation was a challenge. Service was polite and reasonably prompt, given the full house. The food was better than I expected. Quite good , in my opinion. My Herb Lime Chicken, sauteed in a citrus lime herb sauce was tender and juicy. Fred at the bar was great! i loved my moscow mule & espresso martini. i had the pastrami sandwich & was surprised it didn't come w thousand island but Fred suggested it with honey mustard & it was great! the pastrami was sliced thin & was good quality. i would have preferred a creamy coleslaw but i still enjoyed the vinegar-based slaw it came with. i definitely liked the bread it came on which was was toasted yet still very soft. thjs place definitely attracts an older crowd & there's nothing wrong w that. it's just that kind of place. the decor was cute & i gather they have live music some nights, it makes me wonder what the vibe is like then. i will be back for the great service from Fred & to try something else on the menu! read more

What a great place! My first time going there and I can't wait to go back!! Ambiance: Great space. Very nice inside with a great mix of high and short tops. The bar is definitely a place I could hang out for an extended amount of time. The night I went they had a great jazz band playing (live music 7 days a week!) that enhanced the evening that much more. Food: Wow!! I just had the best burger I have had in a long time! I had a bite of my dining companion's pesto pasta and would definitely order that for myself. I saw a lot of the different apps at the bar, all looking great, but I think next time I need to try the pizza as I saw/smelled several of them as they passed my table. I would literally eat this food sitting in a dumpster if that was my only option. Cocktails: Usually I group this in with food, but these are so good, it necessitated breaking it out into its own category. Good size glasses with more than generous pours. I'm not really somebody adventures on to the drink menu, but theirs is extensive and they all looked really tasty. A dining companion had a couple of them and concurred. Service: Hard to believe this beats the first three, but this is really where Knolls really excels. Matt did an excellent job waiting on our table always coming by every couple of minutes to make sure we didn't need anything and never let our drinks go empty. The most exceptional part is the proprietor, Lauren. From greeting people by their first name as they walk in, running food, being behind the bar pouring drinks, or just coming by every table to make sure the overall experience was as great as it should be, she was non-stop all night making sure everything was perfect for her customers. Worked late on a Wednesday and ordered the Filet Mignon dinner from Knolls Restaurant in Laguna Niguel for my husband and I -- and WOW, it was Amazing! The filet was cooked perfectly with just the right juicy flavor. The asparagus was perfect, and the mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy were absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful, comforting meal after a long day. Everything was beautifully prepared and truly hit the spot. We paired it with a nice French Beaujolais wine which was perfect. I heard there were new owners and we stopped in to check it out. The seating area has changed since I was last there. There have a lounge area with couches and an area for the band and a dance floor. Second time I went here. If you love live local music, then this is the place to be! A girlfriend and I went months ago it was good. My man and I went last night just after running errands. It was pretty poppin for a Tuesday night. Live music was awesome! The food though was delicious! Literally best Chilean sea bass I've had in my life. And his pork chop was amazing too. Had reservations this evening for Knolls in Laguna Niguel after stopping by a garden party in our community. The night was still young and the music at Knolls was calling our names. Lauren the owner greeted us at the door as did Alex R. one of our favorite servers. The place was packed and so many folks were enjoying themselves with great food, music, ambiance and people. We started with drinks and then Alex took our entree order. Lauren even stopped by our table to say hello and I complimented her on the joy and flavor she brought to Knolls as we have been patrons prior to her ownership. She is amazing as are the staff she has helping everyone with smiles and excellent customer service. My wife had a bite prior to coming to Knolls so only had a Caesar Salad and I had the Orange Sesame Salmon with fresh veggies. Oh so good! Lauren always brings in top notch entertainment and offers it 7 days a week plus a killer happy hour from 3pm to 6pm. A great place and highly recommended! read more

Arrived on a early Saturday night at 4p. Half the restaurant was a special event, which was fine. There were tables being used on the other half with customers already seated. The bar was hopping, but neither bartender looked our way. No waitress came by to say someone would be helping us soon.
