Xisco is the best bartender ever
    Elisa G.

Xisco is so awesome and cool and he makes the best drinks ever!!! Happy hour is from 2-6 pm every day and open from 12 noon for day drinking until 10 PM. You can personalize your own drink. Very reasonably priced and super fun! Come here and check it out.

I love this little bar. It's the perfect spot for a daytime drink after window shopping or catching a movie at Edwards Cinema. Dry Society is located in the Union Market on the top floor of the mall. It's centered right in the middle, so you can't miss it. There's plenty of bar space to hang and a few tables surrounding the bar as well. They do have a TV, but this isn't the best spot to catch the game. The whiskey selection is on point and my last trip here I sipped on a glass of Pig Nose scotch whiskey. Normally, I don't like scotch because it's too peaty. But the bartender steered in the right direction and Pig Nose is now on my, "buy that bottle" list. The main focus here is their craft cocktail selection; Old Fashions, a bourbon based Brown Derby, and the Eastside, a gin drink with cucumber, mint, lime juice. This isn't a night hot spot, but more of an early afternoon or warm lap kind of place. The drink are a tad pricey, but you're getting some quality sippers!

Delicious mule $8 on happy hour

Been here a couple times- once when it first opened up and then another time for a speakeasy event they had. It's a cool little spot and the drinks are good, but because of the location inside Union Market, it doesn't have the same vibe as most bars I drop $12+ on a beverage. We decided to give it another try and saw they had happy hour every day on their website. When we ordered, the bartender advised us the website was incorrect. However, she was still willing to honor the price for us. I ordered the Moscow mule for $8 on happy hour and it was the best damn mule I've ever had since I've been of drinking age. Forget ginger beer, this place uses fresh pressed ginger and club soda. Freaking perfection. Needless to say I had three mules and foresee myself stopping by regularly to get my fix.

Gold Rush: Bourbon, lemon juice, honey syrup

If you're a fan of the Central Bar in Tustin's Union Market, you'll definitely like Dry Society here at Mission Viejo's Union Market. It's owned by the same people and they serve amazing craft cocktails. The bartender let us sample some of the beers so that we could make an educated decision. My date ordered the Einstock Toasted Porter ($9) and I had a Gold Rush which isn't on the menu. It's a version of the Bee's Knees ($12) which is gin, honey syrup and lemon but instead of gin, I asked for bourbon. Our awesome female bartender said she could make it so I was pleased as punch. The cocktail was smooth and had just the right notes. They had flat screens showing the Olympics coverage. We watched as Katie Ledecky blow out the competition in the 800 m Freestyle event to get the gold medal while sipping on our drinks. Dry Society is pretty chill and the drinks are great, albeit pricey. You definitely get what you pay for though. They serve prohibition era style drinks with real ingredients, not the HFCS stuff. They don't even have ginger ale or ginger beer. We watched as our bartender was making Boston Sours all night. She had to shake all those egg whites. The drinks are good and stiff. The service is great. I'll be back soon.

Under new management - I was drinking my original drink slowly because I wasn't the biggest fan. The manager came over and took notice. We chit chatted for a bit and he catered to the flavors I enjoyed and created this beauty. Bourbon, ginger liqueur, lime, house made rosemary infused simple syrup. Hands down the best drink I've ever had. It was very kind of him to create this one and I'll most definitely be coming back to have more!

Finally a local bar with Hand Crafted Cocktails mixed with good vibes. If you plan on ordering a Long Island Iced Tea or AMFs this is not the bar for you. However, if you enjoy a well made adult beverage this is the place for you. All the cocktails are carefully hand crafted with the best ingredients. Andrew was our bartender and as I watched him craft our drinks, you can tell right away how passionate he was about creating each and every cocktail. From carving the ice to the pour of the liquids every step is carefully calculated, which in my opinion = the best taste. The 2 bar backs Alexa and Sunny knew exactly what they were talking about when it came to suggesting drinks. The staff here goes above and beyond and very friendly. This particular night I tried 4 of their cocktails and each one of course a different taste and ALL amazing!!!! I tried The Boston Sour, Holy Choco Mole (strong but smooth), Mexican Bonfire (my favorite), The Perfect Storm (Refreshing) and shots of After Dark Whiskey (Definitely Smooth). I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the Menu. The average price for these cocktails are $10-$12 which is amazing!!!!! There is also a happy hour after midnight. 5$ beer and a shot of vodka. Dry Society is in the middle of the Union Market upper level of kaleidoscope. Perfect location. There was a DJ spinning and there are games to play from table tennis to corn hole. This is an up an coming hangout spot!!!! I would suggest this place to anyone and everyone!!!!!

    A Better Mule ($14)

Great place for cocktails! Located dead center in the new Union area of the Kaleidoscope Mall, they serve up creative and tasty drinks that you can take with you anywhere within the Union area! I ordered an Old Fashioned (they have some very good bourbon selection) and the bartender put on a show. He mixes the whole drink in a beaker straight out of Chemistry class, and proceeded to chop away at a block of ice to form a large ice cube for my drink. The end product was very tasty - one of the better Old Fashioneds I've had in Orange County. My boyfriend tried the "A Better Mule," their take on a Moscow Mule that was wonderfully gingery - you could hardly tell there were 2 shots of vodka in there! The only bad thing about this bar is the pricing. $30 for two drinks is steep, but on the bright side it limits my alcohol intake. Will definitely be back!

    Octopus
    Gabi S.

Came here for a whiskey and the octopus dish. The octopus was really good, I would definitely order it again. They had a good list of whiskeys and cocktails from what I saw. I will be coming back to try a cocktail. I was really happy with the service. Both bartenders, male and female, were very amicable and attentive. Andrew I believe, one of the owners, was very involved with everyone at the bar. He seemed very appreciative of everyone for chosing to come here. It's great to see business owners who take initiative by working with their staff and socializing with the clientele. I recommend this place to everyone looking for a drink and a variety is small dishes.

Miguel (aka- Mike)was a great bartender! The happy hour was great and the drinks are delicious! Such a shame that we probably wont see.him again. Piece of advice to management- his customer service is top notch. From what we experienced, as well as observed, that is exactly.the type of person you need working for you. People skills, mixology, customer care, ABOVE AND BEYOND! I hope we see him in the future!!

Moscow Mule and Dark and Stormy
    Marti M.

Stumbled in on Saturday night while waiting for a table at another restaurant. They have high end cocktails that look pretty and taste good. The dark and stormier was a good choice. The service was very slow and seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. The first server couldn't answer our drink questions with any confidence and was basically useless. It was about 15 minutes for us to actually get our 3 drinks and it wasn't busy so they could have been much faster. We ended up missed our dinner reservation after being here for 30 minutes start to finish and we just wanted a quick drink. It's $12 per cocktail and they don't have any soda mixers. Just saying don't ask for a rum and Coke

    Awesome Cocktails by Andrew!
    Hart ..

DRY SOCIETY does hand crafted cocktails Right!!! Andrew, Megan & Alexa are very helpful helping us pick our drinks. And in my opinion Andrew is the reason why DS is such a cool place. He knows his stuff!! Highly recommended!

Ask the Community - Dry Society

    Do they have food?

They don't, but there are a handful of small eateries in the same food court area as the bar. It seems like all the businesses work together so I don't think bringing food from any one of them would be an issue.

First, there's the sophisticated bar, which is smoke-free and the perfect spot for high-end spirits and amazing cocktails (The Gov'ner Old Fashioned is a must-try!). The staff are welcoming, friendly, and always smiling! They've started adding some events to the schedule, like Whistlepig/Cigar tastings, Cajun Boil, Macallan tastings, and wine tastings. They're also introducing a late-night happy hour with food and live music, which is a great way to enjoy a sophisticated drink when most restaurants have closed in the area. The second part of the lounge is the two cigar lounges: the day lounge and the VIP lounge, which has lockers. Both lounges have high-end luxury seating and lots of screens for all your favorite sports. The staff keeps the lounges clean with friendly service. The Winston House stick blended by Placencia is an incredible stick for an exceptional price! Both lounges have a bunch of friendly regulars, so it's always easy to find conversation, or you can just relax and enjoy the moment! This place is a hidden gem that I consider to be the best cigar lounge in SoCal!

The food has been mostly great, in fact the burger is one of the best you can find in South OC. However the French fries remain low on the scale. The taste and texture just doesn't do it for us. On the opposite is the onion rings, which are fantastic. The other dish that is just ok is the Ruben, it's not bad but not great. The club sandwich is another good dish with very fresh ingredients. For dessert we've tried the raspberry mousse cake, it's truly delicious but pricy for $16 considering the small portion. We got a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side for $8, so overall the desserts are on the more pricy side. I highly recommend and will continue to come back.
