I will start out by saying this is a beautiful venue which is why it's getting the 3 stars. The rest of this review is for the unprofessional manner Sandra conducts herself. We had a Quince here and 3 days before the party we had issues and unnecessary stress from Sandra with the cater we wanted to use because they were at their food tasting event. I assumed because I reached out on behalf of my mom to confirm we have a cater for the event less than a month before the event. Anyways Sandra took offense to that and was putting my mom in the middle of her pettiness. The venue is trying to cut out any third party to come in and provide services. They only allow their bartenders and the day of the event the bar wasn't opened until after 6 when it began at 5. The drinks sucked they didn't have a clue on what they were making. Someone from the venue isn't really there the entire time so you have to figure out what to do with things. We had desserts we weren't aware that were ours until an hour before the event ended so we paid money for things that were not utilized because of lack of staff day of. Overall beautiful venue but it did feel like Sandra was retaliating towards us for not using only her services. Which I think was a waste of money and if we're using a venue and paying money you should be allowed to use the people you want. Just feels like she's wanting to make money only for herself and her staff by providing the most unique venue with the most basic add ons to fill her pockets. Would definitely advise people coming in to be very firm on what you want and who you want to use and be mindful that she does seem to play games when it's not fulfilling her pockets. I was searching for a place to host my daughters baby shower and a friend referred me here. The planning was with Sandra. My first appointment I got a tour of the venue and gave it a shot. That day I had put my down payment to hold my date. On this day I was given a packet with a paper that gave us the prices and the timeframe on this for it states the timeframe which is 2-9pm out by 10pm. This is what was discussed at the first appointment. On my second appointment Sandra said the timeframe and stated we had to be out by 9pm. We went back and forth and at that moment I didn't have this paper at hand and let it go. The timeframe while I waited for the shower even up until the same day I didn't hear from Sandra which made me nervous. I think a call maybe the week before to just confirm all is in place would have been nice and would make the customer feel better. The day of the event I was very impressed! They made all look so beautiful and it all went so smooth! Sandra left her son who was there to help with anything and let me tell you he was amazing! He was helping me with setting up the speaker and band. My guests were raving at how it all turned out so beautiful. The reason I put a four star was because at the end we had the issue again where we had to be out by 9pm and I brought it up to Sandras son. He was nice enough to let us stay until 9pm and be out by 10pm. We all didn't stay that late. I was done and out by 9:20pm. This sheet/contract should be updated. Another thing is I purchased a wood sign with Sandra that would be my Grandsons name. It was not there which is sad because I was looking forward to it and giving it to my daughter. I just let it go because after reading the reviews I figure I won't probably ever get it. My honest opinion I am looking for a venue for my wedding and thought to myself let me see how this goes so I could use them for myself. unfortunately, I won't come back. My family and I were having an amazing time , not letting little things bother us such as owners not following thru and owner being rude and strict .We had no problem .It wasn't until our party was shut down early and we were lied to about us being too loud. We then had to further investigate ourselves only to find out that it was actually due to lack of permits on their end for a party our size . Mind you we booked this place for 250 people and we only had about 200 guest and left extra tables empty for more space . They do not have permits . This isn't how a buisness should run. I've never attended a wedding where the security and valet staff, contracted by the venue, were allowed to serve themselves food before the guests. By the time the last few tables were called, much of the buffet had been depleted, and no venue staff made any effort to intervene. It was extremely unprofessional. read more

We recently had my daughters baby shower here, and although it was a beautiful venue, there were a few shortfalls. We were lucky to take advantage of a deal that they had advertised for a limited time, but I feel like since we got a deal they did a half ass job and felt like they were trying to add more $$ to our package however they could. Communication was a problem a-lot of the time. We we're questioned about things over and over when we had already discussed particulars. When we arrived for our event we were really disappointed in the balloon "selfie wall" as they call it, looked nothing like it was supposed to. There were things missing for our desert table and that part was quickly fixed and was appreciated but again it was half done . We did get compliments on the beautiful grounds and dining area tables were nicely done, parking was good also for the venue. Would I book again or refer someone ? No sadly I wouldn't. The communication and the feeling we got through the whole process was not a customer friendly experience .During our venue time we were told that we had to leave an hour earlier than what was on our contract, and according to other reviews on here, it's something they commonly do. Again, communication is key. I feel like if a business is going to run a special rate, you should still get what's promised and not a half rushed job. My event was such a great success at the Commerce location. Where do I start? Planning, easy and everytime I had a question , they answered. Attend the pop ups because you meet your bartenders and you get to take advantage of offers only given there and they are such great add ons. The final meeting for the decor color and table setting went smooth. On the day of the event, they delivered, everything as promised. When I walked in at the time of doors open for my set up right before the event, they had completed their set up and we were greated with such joy and ease that it toned my stress down. To walk in and see everything in my contract set up as promised was such a relief after so much planning and stressing.my vendors were able to come in and set up just as planned. No delays, no interruptions. The party started and the bbq dinner was delicious,the bartenders were so joyful and the staff were just a happy bunch. I had followed them on instagram and tried messaging them multiple times but always got ignored until I finally commented on a post that I finally got a response back. Once I actually believed I would have an appointment scheduled they left me on opened and didn't message me back until a month later (but kept posting on instagram). Sandra is a complete scam. Paid her over $19k to get a nightmare wedding, please save yourself from a disappointment and take your hard earned money somewhere else. Sandra has no shame lying to your face selling you lies and fake promises, and cancel services a week prior to the event like no big deal. As soon as she has all your money she won't answer text, calls, nor emails. And in fact will go off on you accusing you of harassment when you demand answers. Never delivered the chairs for the reception lie to us up into the day of our wedding so our guest had to carry their chairs from the ceremony to the tables. Not to say we paid extra for the wooden chairs, got the cheap foldable chairs that I clearly stated did not want. Never got a refund for the rental chairs she didn't delivered- at that moment the money wasn't the issue it was the unprofessionalism of not coming through for what we paid for. The receipt shows we planned and made a deposit over a year prior to the event, a week before the even she texted my husband saying "she forgot to add the dance floor" unbelievable! We went crazy looking for a dance floor to rent nothing was was available. All Sandra wants it's your hard earn money with no hesitation will lie to your face. ** Be Aware***The location in bell gardens is on sale or rent, she's running away people demanding answers and their money back. **** Save yourself a disappointment! All I had the day of my wedding was tears and anger due to Sandra and bad business. When you request a refund, she will try to make you sign a "non disclosure " that way you cannot talk or post your reviews. Sandra will make "appointments" to her own convenience and request payments on every appointment. As soon as you are done paying she won't even bother answering text nor calls. She feels entitled to cancel "services" anytime and leave you hanging with the event with no remorse on the stress, pain, and tears she cause. When we first hired her services she quote us $7,000 me and my husband were all in, a few months in after a few thousands of dollars in payments she raised the price to $13,000 due to inflation and some BS, since we had given her almost $7,000 we stupidly agreed in the new amount. Long story short, right before the event (invitations sent, honeymoon booked, out of state family booked trip) she raised the price over $19,000 we had to get the remaining of our savings and give it to her just to have the wedding of our dreams instead a total nightmare. Sandra will sell you a picture perfect wedding in venues or locations she don't even own or have control to them, just end up saying her "associate" raised prices. Will include and charge for "staff" (bartenders, florist, day of coordinator service etc) when they look and are unprofessional youths. But the prices were meant to be like a professional doing the service. Again the miscommunication, we paid for the catering service stated they will pick up plates, the day of my wedding the catering people charged me $100 to pick up plates. I believe in karma, besides our hard earned money she took without mercy, the strained moments this cause between me and my husband. The disappointment I gave him for making my husband believe it was a good idea to hired this con artist as the even planner for our wedding. I have paper trail and proof to back up the scam Sandra is. Text trails of never replying and acknowledging the text. My grief with this place is the lack of respect for our concerns and lack of transparency. Although alternative venues where provided, which was appreciated, this was far too little and far too late. Advising us 41 days prior to our event that the desired venue which we paid fully for 4 months in advance is unacceptable since Sandra never owned and misrepresented the availability of the farm house. My assumption is that she spent our money to purchase these new venues in hopes that we wouldn't mind the changes if we had our backs against the wall and force us to accept this unplanned change. Basically twisting our arms to accept. We have zero desire to be associated with this business and their practices, our wedding is December 11, 2022 and we have yet to have any progress in coming to a resolution and we have yet to hear from Sandra herself since requesting a full refund for breach of contract. My question to all these positive reviews and all vendors who associate with this business... what promises has she made you and are you aware of the promises she has broken to others? Update to my original review: my first review was based on my before wedding experience and let me start with Sandra and her team were everything ANY person should want for planning an event. Sandra broke down everything for my husband and I. We knew exactly what we were paying for and the whole rustic team helped make it all come together. The team holds pop ups that help you pick and choose vendors for your event to make your special occasion exactly how you imagine it and you also have the option of bringing in your own vendors. My wedding was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted for my big day. One of the crew members Dillon was my event coordinator the day of my wedding and he helped me with everything. The whole team is helpful. Planning an event isn't easy and the closer it gets the more stressful it can be. The rustic team made me feel at ease. I'm actually sad that the planning is over. Also.. We decided to go all our for my friend's 30th birthday party. Turning 30 is a milestone, which calls for help from professionals! The rustic and chic company helped us plan our party's vision and had all the resources we needed, making this our one stop venue. Our package included decorations and dessert table, bar set up and tables with the fancy linen and plates. There was plenty of parking and away from the residential area so we were able to party loud and late. The staff was on point with checking in in case we needed anything. AWESOME PLACE!!!!!! Can't say the same for the people running it. Avoid the stress and head aches. First Sandra seems like the coolest person when you meet her. Makes it seem like it's going to be a smooth ride, she's going to help you pick the table cloths, plates glasses silver wear etc. We didn't see her and or only heard from her once after that first day that we signed. We agreed on making payments on the 15th of each month. First payment was coming up and sure enough got a threatening call that if we didn't make a payment by the end of the day she would charge us late fees each day that went by. We told her check the contract and what day we agreed on. Got a txt later saying "ok make the payment then". About 2 months before our event we get a call saying that there was a "mistake" made by their computer and they had double booked the venue. Originally we had looked at the venue in Commerce and we had our invitations ready to ship with that location address. So they said to us since we booked first we had the first choice in keeping that location or if we wanted to see the other location and basically tried to convince us that it was the better venue of the two becuse it was bigger and had patio space and it comes with games. Since we were having a sweet 16 and the other party booking on the same date were only having a baby shower that it would benefit us to get the bigger place in South El Monte. It was the better of the two. Granted they did not charge us extra but this is when everything changed and the nip picking started. If we didn't get the bar tender with them we wouldn't be allowed to drop of anything before the day of the party. If we wanted to practice the waltz before the date it would cost $250/hr. We asked how much more for 2 more tables, they said $700. Coffee station $200. Big 16 sign with light also $200. Band and Dj could go in till the agreed time of party starting, which was at 5. If we wanted them to set up before, $350/hr. Same thing with our caterers even though we got them thru there. Couldn't park on the street. And told us we had to turn down 2 knots the music because there's a church next door. The dar tender ended service at 11 pm with no prior notice. I'm surprised the provided the ice and didn't charge us and arm and a leg for it. We had book the venue till 1 am so I was laft with a whole lot of cases of beer and bottle that I had to give away at the end. Thank God it's over I will definitely advice my friends and family not to book their events here, neither will I and I have 3 more daughter that want quinceañeras so yeah they missed out on getting more of my money. read more

Had a terrible experience trying to plan our wedding with Rustic Chic. At our first meeting Sandra showed us all of the things "they could do" and we're "included" in our proposal and a copy of the contract. They didn't have many reviews and all were 5 stars. They only had the outdoor venue in Bell Gardens at the time and we're about to open up another venue in Commerce that would fit a larger guest count, have over 6 bathrooms, a huge parking lot and longer hours, even showed us stock photos of it and how it would be ready within the next month. She told us if we made our deposit before the year end, we would be locked in for the prices for all vendors. And so we made the initial deposit since it was December. Fast forward a month or two we begin to ask about the new venue that was supposed to fit our count. We asked to meet in person as what she had promised was already not pulling through. She started saying it would still be ready within a month and having excuses about how inspection hadn't passed and how our wedding wasn't for another year why would we worry. After that meeting, my fiance and I came across an Instagram page that indicated the company was a scam (@therusticchic_coscam). We started reaching out to that account, along with people who we saw tagged with events with Rustic and all had something bad to say about their experience. Several of them mentioned changes in prices, shortened hours, missing items or personnel they had paid for, random charges day of, no return on deposit, different food/vendors day of etc. and having to constantly be checking in on them and day of demanding things. They stuck with it because it was too late or happened the day of, sounded terrible to us as from every meeting we were told they would handle everything. We also found their previous furniture business page, Rustic Living Furniture which had terrible reviews. When the venue finally opened... 6 months later, it had a smaller guest count than the Bell Gardens venue, had no parking lot (street parking only), no AC and only 1 restroom. We asked other people at the event who confirmed they were told the same as us. Sandra also insisted the charge would be different and that the vendor prices had also changed, hence why we made a deposit in the first place. The Bell Gardens location would then be our only option but we didn't want to risk it. And good thing we didn't, by the end of the year they abruptly got rid of that venue, which apparently was not the first time. We met with Sandra after seeing the "new" venue and she had an updated proposal with all new prices with everything, literally nothing was priced the same. At that point we had booked somewhere else and had met to let her know. She was obviously upset and insisted we could just use their floral services for our deposit, since they had some no refund policy. We had asked at every meeting about the contract which had not been signed but she just insisted we would talk about it the next time. We kept record of everything. When we started reaching out about inspirationals for florals they requested, they insisted the pricing was completely different for what we wanted, when it was pictures of things they had previously shown us at meetings. They continued to try to change the pricing and change terms. First set up and delivery were included, next time we followed up that was an extra charge, then suddenly delivery was separate from set up. We would use email for everything and show them how they were contradicting but would say how Sandra now said something different. It was a real nightmare dealing with them for our deposit that we ended up using them for florals at another event. We were overcharged for garlands that used old flowers but at that point we just wanted to be done with them and not worry about them the day of our wedding. Stress free wedding for sure. Sandra is great at what she does. We sat and added all of our vendors with them. Everything was straightforward and stress free. The day of the wedding we worked with Dillon - he was top notch! Overall this one stop shop is worth it! We had our ceremony and reception at the S El Monte venue and it was just BEAUTIFUL. Words cannot explain how dissapointed I was the day before my wedding. I hired Rustic & Chic to do my bridal bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets. I asked for an all white floral hanging bouquet as well as for my bridesmaids. What we recieved was the complete opposite. I paid $150 for my bridal bouquet that turned out to be a bunch of greenery with three white roses and one or two other white flowers. My bridesmaids bouquet were supposed to have 5 white roses but most of them had four and the rest was all greenery. We spent the whole day prior to the wedding taking all the bouquets apart and going to different stores to try and find white flowers to add to the bridesmaids bouquet as well as my "$150" bouquet. I am very dissapointed with what I recieved and will not be using Rustic & Chic anymore. read more

What a disgrace for a "wedding planning company" This whole place is a fraud fraud fraud!!! Promises the moon and the stars and will sell you literal dirt. She will come in contract with you through scheming and being a complete con artist. The caterer needed additional room and asked for a table and she said she'll "throw it in for free" she didn't let the cake get delivered because "we didn't pay for the kitchen" This place is a wreck and disaster. They tell you it's all inclusive and stress free but then start telling you all those "inclusive" things are now EXTRA CHARGE!!!!! Sent them inspiration pics for center pieces we wanted and that it would be done. Sandra decided to tell us a couple weeks before that they don't do the candles. we had to scramble to get those and set them up the day of. Some how our garnishes for the bar were just lost the day of the event. Paid for certain hours and then she changes it last minute and tells us we need to pay for the original time agreed on. I am a sibling to the event holders and they recorded me without permission then posted my video in such a disrespectful and shaming context. I asked her kindly to take it down and she said she would in exchange for a yelp review!!! Well here's your review. I can go on and on about this place but even more so about Sandra. Extremely passive aggressive, extremely unprofessional, extremely inconsiderate. I know this woman has to suffer personally. No way she has any friends of any kind. The way she runs things is beyond any words I can type here. Please I beg you to take the bad reviews into consideration and DO NOT do business with them. That 5k promo turns into a 15k disaster.
