We received mason jars with water while we waited for our waiter. I must say, I thought the water was delicious! They were out of the charcuterie boards, so we opted for loaded fries. They were extremely salty and sweet? Almost like there was sugar added to them? I would give them a 6/10 for that reason. My husband attempted to order a ribeye wagu, but they were out. My husband opted for the filet. He enjoyed his mashed potatoes, stated his vegetables were rather salty and his steak was pretty divine! He had two blonde beers that he seemed to have enjoyed. I ordered the new seasonal salmon plate. Overall I would give it a 7.5/10. The salmon was rather bland, but cooked nicely. All of the sauces seemed rather odd to me. We Ordered: The Braised Short Rib ($38) , Cajun Shrimp Pasta ($36), and a side of fries. While I can appreciate the rustic ambiance and the locally sourced ingredients, my personal opinion would be to avoid this place. The waiter was lovely, but the food took incredibly long to come out. I recall waiting 40 minutes just before we were served our order, and that was in addition to standing 5 minutes waiting to be seated. To be impartial, there was a large party across from us, but they all had already ordered after we got there. Looking at the food, I think the price of the Cajun Shrimp Pasta is unjustifiable. The shrimp (pictured below) has curled into an "O" shape which is a clear indicator that it has been overcooked, the pasta was bland and I had to request more salt from the waiter to be able to tolerate it. In addition, the sauce did not cling to pasta, instead it was soupy and oily, which you can also see in the picture. My boyfriend was the one who ordered the braised short rib. I tried some and in my opinion, it was actually over-salted, unlike the pasta. Also, the serving size is incredibly small, you can barely see it under the garnish and if you look closely, it is the size of three of those fries put together side by side. Speaking of which, the fries were the most decent part of the meal and I believe the ketchup was made in house. These two meals cost forty dollars each, but the price is definitely not worth it. That's what did it for me, I couldn't finish them or the burger. Just too much seasoning and salt on the fries. Burgers are thick and well cooked, and on their own would be great. The food was really good, though I thought my Braised Short Rib was a bit on the salty side for me. My wife had the Wagyu and it was fantastic! My only issues were that somehow it was *really* loud inside, and it was on the expensive side: two appetizers, two entrees, and two drinks, and I walked out $200 lighter! We were excited for this close-by restaurant after moving here a couple months ago thinking it could be our go to spot. Unfortunately, I think we need to tamper expectations here generally. Ambience is nice with a solid beer selection but do note that they actually must not have a full liquor license as their cocktails are made with soju, not liquor. Brussels sprouts were crisped well and tasty while the loaded sweet potato fries were aplenty and cut in a style I like. Kind of limp but nothing an air fryer can't fix since you'll definitely have leftovers (there were 3 of us). We grabbed the Nashville Hot Sandwich, Ribeye Wagyu and Chilean Sea Bass cause I love my seafood and the boyfriend (surprise, surprise) can't resist beef on an occasion. Sea bass was frozen fish but seasoned and crisped well. The berbere sauce on both the sea bass and ribeye was very tasty. Ribeye was over cooked and a little tough (we ordered medium rare) but the veggies and potatoes especially were good. The sandwich consisted of tenders and was not Nashville hot in spice. It ended up being an OK leftover meal. This place is akin to a Slaters for food but with a couple nicer or higher priced items. It's not a place I'd go back to necessarily other than if they had a happy hour; but I will say that the service was excellent. read more
