Went to The S&S last night for dinner. Just Excellent. The food. Excellent. The service. Excellent. The prices. Beyond Excellent. It was our third visit to The S&S. It's been amazing every time. I think of The S&S as an old school supper club. There are 8 tables I believe and only one staggered seating. They don't turn over the tables. You get five courses. You are started with a smoked fish dip plate. I generally don't like fish dip but the fish dip there is excellent. Next is soup. There were two choices. We both went with the Prime Rib Vegetable. Excellent. The salad course is fine - but the Greek feta salad dressing was really really tasty. Next is the entree. There are 5 choices on the regular menu, plus 2 specials. My wife ordered the Rack of Lamb ($39) and I had the NY Strip and Shrimp Scampi ($37). Both were beyond excellent. Huge portions and plenty to take home for another meal. The dessert is the Chef's choice. Last night it was Key Lime Pie. Most people, including us, take it to go because you're so full from all the delicious food in the first four courses. I had my Key Lime later, at home, and it was delicious. The restaurant itself is very nice. I'm very comfortable there. The service is friendly and attentive and very professional. We've had the same waitress all 3 visits over 3 years - that's a good sign. And she's very very good. The location is on Depot Drive right along the railroad tracks. It's not the best location, but there's parking right there and I enjoy watching the Brightline passing by. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

On Wednesday, February 12th @ 4:30pm were at the Lexus dealership maybe 20 min from The S&S. We called to see if we could come over for an early dinner. The person that answered the phone was very rude, so I asked do we need to make reservations. She said she would ask the manager. She came back and with a bad attitude said "we have nothing for you this evening". I happen to have friends that ate there that evening and they told us they were not busy. They have daily specials and also a set menu that changes monthly I believe. They have beer and wine. Wine by the glass or bottle. We opted for a Riesling. . A bottle. It was a twist off but was good enough. The wines by the glass are 9 dollars a glass and they are Mondavi brand. So that's a decent brand. We paid 30 for a bottle. I had the pork oso bucco. Amazing is all I can say. Your food comes with an appetizer that had smoked fish dip spread , olive tapenade, onions, tomatoes n hot peppers and pieces of bread. This comes with every entree you order. You also get a soup. I had a broccoli soup n my husband had a crab tortellini bisque. Ridiculously good. Yet so simple. Then you also get a salad that comes with your meal. Different types of homemade dressing. I had the cucumber feta salad dressing. Yummy. My oso bucco had some mixed veggies with it. What a fabulous dining experience we had on Feb 1st 2024. You need a reservation because its very small. Staff is really friendly and service excellent. Our table was first served a tray with bread, olive tapenade, fish dip, etc- in the house. Next included with each meal was a choice of 2 homemade soups, italian bean or an Italian version of lemon drop both excellent! Then all meals include salad and all dressing is homemade-we got the Caesar and it was one of the best. There were four house specials and many choices of standard items to choose for entrées. all four of the entrées were the biggest portions of food I've ever seen. And very well presented. I got the lobster / tenderloin. Lobster was sweet- they said was fr Beleze. The seafood pasta included huge portions of shrimp, muscles, clams, and scallops. The scallop entrée was fabulous. We got it extra blackened, and the presentation was just so pretty and delicious too. The lamb chops -it was a whole rack of lamb, were out of this world one of the best we've ever - medium. Tender too. All meals come with vegetable of the day and a starch. To top off, our meal included was a complementary dessert. Tonight was pineapple upside down cake. Where have you been all of my life?!?! I've been a snow bird in the fort Pierce area for around 15 years and never stumbled upon this hidden gem. Thank goodness for pool chatter! Small and quaint and the chef can cook! The food was delicious and plentiful. My pork osso buco was the best I've ever eaten. My husband had the blackened scallops and could not finish them all because the portion was so big. Of course this was after eating the complimentary fish dip and tapenade and the included soup and salad. Dessert was included- two miniature cannoli each. We ate two and took two home to enjoy later. Not a complaint but only for information, they don't serve coffee. Nice choice of wines and reasonably priced I am definitely not forgetting the front of the house. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall, facing the train tracks...max seating is 20. We walked in and were greeted by the calm, laidback, dim interior. Kristi the hostess and sole waitstaff welcomed us with a smile and asked if we had reservations. Seeing that the seating was nearly maxed out, and not having seen any notification on yelp that reservations were recommended or required, I answered and asked,"No. Do we need a reservation?" She quickly assured us we did NOT, and offered the only two open seats: at the "bar"; which we immediately accepted. Once seated, she came around the counter filled our glasses with water, and set before us their standard menu and the specials for the day. Thanking her we began perusing the menu...it is not extensive; varied, but not overwhelming. As we thought what we each might order, we glanced around at the other patrons: clearly, this place caters to an older, more mature clientele with a refined palate and slightly thicker wallet. (The single '$', is a typo--this wonderful place should have two to three '$'s!) My daughter and I were the youngest diners--by a couple decades. There is no loud, raucous music, no dancing, no "bar" to speak of. Those there are there to enjoy their friends'/significant other's company and converse while eating a delicious meal. Sitting at the "bar", I was surprised with how quiet the kitchen was; it could have made the whole experience unpleasant if there'd been a lot of pots and pans banging. And though there wasn't much noise, the food kept flowing from the kitchen at a steady pace. We were served an appetizer gratis of the chef. Both of our meals came with soup (seafood bisque or butternut squash) and small house salad (made with mixed greens--NOT iceberg or romaine). My daughter ordered the Shrimp Carbonera and I ordered the Duck (one of today's specials). I only tried my duck, but it was delicious: tender, moist, with a superb glacé. Carrot cake was also included for dessert--but I was too full to even try it! This restaurant is well worth trying! It isn't inexpensive and I would recommend reservations! (The hostess answered a call for someone wanting reservations and I heard her mention that there wasn't available seating until next week.) We have dined at The S&S frequently this season. Last evening we hosted a dinner party there for 20 which was a huge success!!! The dining was outstanding due to Chefs creative and fresh preparation along with Tom's attentive service. I selected three entrées to choose--Prime Rib with Lobster, Seafood Marinara and Chicken Française. All perfectly Prepared and deliciously enjoyed!!! Only complaints were after the complimentary fish dip, along with the tasty soup, salad and carrot cake we were totally stuffed. Doggie Bags were totally appreciated the next day! Repeat guests raved and our new Guests will definitely return. Wine prices are fair too. Please support this restaurant during summer season if you are in the area. It's a gem! In town for one day on a tour and the S&S was an absolute highlight of the day. Healthy, beautifully sourced rotating menu and very friendly service. My friend had a New York Strip on fresh greens (for 10.99) and he said it was one of the best steaks he's EVER had. I went with the Israeli Couscous, lentil soup, and a kale salad (the kale was grown not far from there and was delicious). The couscous and soup were both special. Everything is very fresh and made with love. We sat at one of the tables and chit chatted with the kind staff. What a gem! read more

Yesterday I stopped in to order a to go lunch for an office. They were over the moon when I arrived with Pork burritos and salmon steaks! Everything they said was wonderful! Fresh and delectable. I had the cranberry chicken salad over mixed greens. The perfect lunch for me. The chicken is nicely chunked with a small amount of mayo and cranberries throughout. The day Ft here is super friendly. Successfully doing what so many restaurants are striving to do nowadays. Local food, eco friendly and healthy choices. Got the creamed turkey on a biscuit; the chef roasts an whole turkey breast, cuts it into chunk, and surrounds it with a light cream sauce made with homemade stock and fresh vegetables. The biscuit was buttery and delicious, there were huge and numerous chunks of turkey and the cream sauce was out of this world. Also tried the lima bean (pretty sure they were lima) and andoulle sausage stew. Earthy, rich and delicious. Got some beet greens because they're healthy. They were so fantastic! Just the right amount of acid and not cooked beyond recognition. Also, the service was amazing. The woman at the front is so friendly and helpful; she's willing to let you try virtually anything on the constantly changing menu. If I lived in Fort Pierce, we'd be friends.
