Such a wonderful meal while in Florida! Grandpas had everything we needed. Chicken fried steak, hash browns, and home fries, king cut prime rib and my personal favorite meal of this trip: haddock and a side of Biscuits and gravy. The server was above attentive and super patient as we ordered a fried mushroom app before we could let her know what we wanted for brunch. The space is grandpa chic. Old sports posters, banners and just a cozy booth is all we really needed for a super memorable meal! We could've even gotten beer as well, but that wasn't what we're in the mood for. The BnG was amazing and totally worth it.. keep in mind if you get a side of biscuits and gravy that's a large portion and a big bowl... as grandpa would want. We showed up here on a Sunday at 7:30am. Delicious diner with the old Florida vibe going on. I went with a coffee and the Everything but the Kitchen Sink omelette which came with hash browns and toast. Delicious starter to the day. They had a solid crowd bright and early. Went here for a birthday meal. Brother in law turning 81. Usually in most restaurants they either sing to you or a desert if some kind. I guess that don't do that here. Our table ordered Chicken fingers, steak Salad, chicken quesadilla and spaghetti and meatballs. I would like to report everything was really good...it was not. The chicken fingers were over cooked, all 3 orders. The spaghetti and meatballs were under seasoned and I am not sure what they use to make these meatballs but they need a new recipe with better flavor and texture in the meatball. Not a good plate of food at all. The 8 oz New York strip for the salad was ordered medium, it came hammered. Super well done and was so tough I could barely cut it up. It seemed like nothing prepared hot or cooked was from the freezer and not fresh. What was good? Friendly staff. Great service and a good atmosphere. I do see that they serve lunch and breakfast. I might give it another try for breakfast. Finally, went to restroom to wash hands and there was some sort of food substance on the sink. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing. My wife got the sausage cacciatore. Her pasta was a little mushy so if you get it ask for it al dente. I got the grandpa special with sausage links and pancakes. I recommend the sausage links. It's not like normal breakfast sausage links. The pancakes are big and fluffy. It is very delicious. Our server's name is Laura. She made our experience absolutely amazing. She is a great server, very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. It just made us happy to be here we will definitely be coming back. The seating is nice and the bathrooms are clean. I really do recommend coming here. If you're ever in the area just a great place. The ambiance is nice. It is definitely usually busy so come early enough and be prepared to wait a few mins for your table, they do move through them quickly. The food is always served quickly. Ample parking in the plaza, a few small tables outside for the outdoor seating. Great amount of tables to keep the flow moving and short wait times. Busy yet quiet, breakfast menu is basic but doesn't take into account that some people don't eat hash browns or bread or pancakes but they won't allow sliced tomatoes to replace other items without charging extra. I have gone to grandpas diner twice the first time the food was delicious and service was excellent. My husband and I went there Tuesday morning, and there was something off about the food they brought to us. The pancakes were very chewy had to cut with knife and they tasted sour. We made the server aware and she said that there was another cook that was making the meals. Well we both got very sick that day. I'm sorry to say but we won't be going back. I think they are cutting down on quality of food and hiring people who have no idea how to prepare meals in a sanitary way. read more

We've lived in this area for over 20 years, and while we're not regulars at Grandpa's, we do stop in from time to time for both dine-in and takeout. Up until today, we've never had a reason to say anything negative. We went in for breakfast and ordered our usual. My wife decided to try the catfish this time, which she ended up not liking. The batter and flavor just weren't what she expected. We weren't looking for a discount--we ordered it, so we planned to pay for it. Our waitress was great. She checked on us several times and really did her job well. Toward the end, she asked how everything was, and we told her the truth: we didn't care for the catfish, just to explain why it wasn't eaten. She offered to get the manager, which we didn't ask for, but we didn't mind. When the manager came over, she said he'd take the catfish off the bill, which we appreciated. However, the way she said it--telling us not to order it again--came across as unnecessary and a little rude. We're not the type to order something we know we won't eat. We were simply giving honest feedback when asked. It was disappointing to end the meal that way because everything else was fine, and our waitress was excellent. We just felt the situation could have been handled with a little more professionalism. read more
