We can honestly say we've never had a bad experience at JJ Plums and have eaten here over 20 times. What really compelled me to write this review was we had another table next to us who proudly declared himself a MAGA grandfather. We'll this clueless grandfather gave the waitress such a hard time about increases in prices and smaller portions all the while blaming everything on Biden. The waitress, Jamie did the best she could to explain the need for price increases but MAGA granddad had none of it. Its then I decided to right that wrong and say without a doubt I eat out and travel far more than Mr. MAGA and can say without any doubt the portions and quality you get here is well worth it. If not, the service would be fair, I would say one of my concerns is the Ambiance because they are likely removing one of the servers on suspect of using drugs. Wow, did I find a hidden gem! JJ Plums on US1 has the best poached eggs and the best red tomatoes that are just like the ones I used to find at the fruit stands up in the Catskills. They are perfectly happy to make poached eggs all day long. Sue is amazing, amazing, amazing! The prices and the service are great, and they don't constantly upcharge like most other places. Try their turkey club-it's delicious. They offer lots of choices for sides-onion rings, french fries, hash browns, home fries, grits, oatmeal, lettuce and tomato. We never go anywhere else because this place is the best. They are open every day except Tuesday. read more

This place ain't fancy, but who cares. The service was friendly, the food was quite tasty, and the portions were large. We had to ask for a breakfast menu at noon but it was here promptly. The Scrambelaya is awesome. A loaded scramble covered with sausage and gravy...and the gravy is oh so good. The wife had something similar, The JJ "something". It was a sunny side up egg on biscuits and gravy. Both dishes come with a choice of sides... and highly recommended. Be friendly to the staff and they'll be your best friend. I have been going to JJ's for along time, and even since moving further away the ride is worth it. I'm a breakfast person and picky, so saying that nobody does sausage-gravy and biscuits and has the best grits, says it all for me. Just had breakfast there before we head out of Fort Pierce. We ordered the JJ Country omelet, The big one, and sweet tea. The JJ Country omelet is omelet with sausage, potato, onion topped with sausage gravy. I switched the sausage for ham. This breakfast taste decent. It is more like a boritto with egg tortilla. The omelet folded like a boritto with very thin layers of egg. Inside the omelet, the ham, potato, and onion are all seperated from the egg. It's more like home friends and saute ham with onion in an egg boritto. Not as I expected, but not bad taste wise. The gravy is decent, texture is okay and it is not overly seasoned. The whole breakfast tastes good with the gravy. Not taste-buds-satisfying good, but decent-road-trip-breakfast good. I got the fruit salad and pancakes to go with tye breakfast. Fruit slices are canned fruits, don't recommend it. The pancake is decent, fluffy enough to enjoy, but quite small. Smaller than IHOP pancakes. The sausage links in The Big One Breakfast were decent. And sweet tea was good. This is a local place and mostly host local regulars. The waitresses know lots of customers by name. Friendly. But the floor is not very clean. One of the waitress swiped the floor near our table when we were still eating, which is unacceptable to me. read more

First time coming here, and we will never return. Had to wait nearly 15 minutes before we got our order taken, and fifteen minutes after that, they dropped off the bill to our table. We were confused but just shrugged our shoulders and waited. And waited. And waited. After forty-five minutes, my sister went to find our waitress to see what was happening. The waitress became defensive and said on Sundays, it always takes 35-45 minutes for food to come out, which she had never communicated to us. She also pointed out that other people were waiting for food, as if that somehow mattered to us. My sister sat back down and we proceeded to wait some more. We came in at approximately 930am, did not get our food until 10:50 am, which, as you may notice, is a LOT more than 45 minutes. And the food was NOT worth the wait. They gave my sister hash browns instead of home fries, dropped off our pancakes and we had to ask three times to get syrup and butter for them. Long enough for them to grow cold. They brought out the home fries, which were not at all crispy and were pretty much mush. All the food was unseasoned--all of it was in desperate need of salt and/or pepper. Including the sausage gravy on my sister's scramble. The only thing seasoned was the store-bought sausage. Even the bacon was terrible--pretty sure it's the pre-cooked microwavable bacon you buy at a gas station when you're desperate. They only allow one free refill on sodas, but they never brought my sister her refill. We were there for over an hour and they never refilled her soda. We want to give small, local businesses our money, but this one failed to deliver in so many ways (service, food, time) that we will not be returning. read more

You hear "Hey Fred!", "Mornin' Joe!", "Hey John!", etc, etc. I order two eggs, Bacon, Toast and grits. Get it fast. Must say, the over medium eggs were over harder then usual this week. Good food, great service. This place was a good diner. Lots of affordable selections and attentive and friendly servers. I had the scramble potato and gravy and the honey had the smoked sausage with eggs, grits and pancakes. My food was tasty but not super fatty tasting. Some extra flavor on the home fires would have been better (reoccurring request it seems at most places) and my honeys only complaint was that the pancake mix wasn't blended in well enough which resulted in some texture issues in the pancakes. I would recommend this place for dinner food because the service was very good. You can tell it's frequented by a ton of regulars. Give this place a shot! I am sorry but one of the worst experiences that I have had when traveling. I ordered Banana Nut Waffles and instead I got Banana Nut pancakes. The Pancakes were undercooked and the taste was not kosher. The fresh fruit cup was canned or bottled and the fruit was rubbery to texture. I did not get my eggs and bacon. Lastly the apple juice tasted as the fountain tap was not cleaned properly. I don't know if I was the first order of the day or not, and it seems as the care into creating the meal this morning was not there. Normally I would give experiences a 3 star for poor quality but my experience here was definitely not one of my best. read more

We eat at JJ Plums nearly every weekend. It is a great local diner, with a homey feel. Sometimes it takes a while when there is a lot of with business at one time, but we are okay with that too. If you want it in a hurry, and you want assembly line cooking go to Denny's. We recommend anything with the sausage gravy. My favorite is the Scrambalaya. read more
