We ordered lunch for the bridal party as we were getting ready for my wedding. The food was delicious, but light enough that we didn't feel like our dresses wouldn't fit. The portions were HUGE and I was able to leave more than half of my Caesar salad for my groom to finish after I left for the venue. read more

The reviews of this eatery are right in the money. It is really fresh, quality "fast food." We we're camping while in Charlevoix and decided we didn't want to clean up or deal with long waits in sit down restaurants, so we decided to go fast. This cafe is a wonderful asset to the community of "touristy food." The staff is friendly and efficient; our order was nicely packaged and ready for us within 10-minutes (at 3:00 pm.). Tables were available and the weather was delightful, making for a lovely experience. The most flavorful dish was the soup of the day: chicken tortilla. It was filled with fresh veggies, tender chicken and savory species that have it a nice and unique kick. My only suggestion is to package the corn strips separately so they do not get soggy. We then enjoyed our Bridge paninis which were hot, crispy and had lots of healthy ingredients tucked inside: turkey, avocado, melted cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. My husband and I agreed that it was good, but lacked a touch of flavor that might have made it great. Similarly, our salad was fresh and full of great ingredients. The balsamic vinegarete was made in house, a plus. When combined, it was good yet was missing some flavor that might have made it great. Food in Charlevoix is pricy, as expected, and the $52 we paid seemed acceptable (including a 10% tip; the server asked if we would like to add a tip, a gesture I would prefer restaurants skip, allowing customers to make that choice on their own ...... it puts customers on the spot. Plus, it's a take-out establishment where tips might not be expected, right?). The Salad Fork is a great option for a healthy, quick, tasty and filling meal. read more

Had the Regular Acai Bowl and went back the next day to have it again- soooo good! Fresh blueberries, strawberries, banana, granola and coconut flakes over acai (that's been blended with bananas and strawberries) and raw flaxseeds in the bottom of the bowl. Love it! This is a small, fast casual place with just a few counter stools inside and a few tables outside. Is a great place to eat outside on a nice day or get takeout. It is bit overpriced IMHO but at least everything is fresh and you can customize your salad or acai bowl. read more

Delicious, quick lunch at the Salad Fork! Ordered online and picked up 15 minutes, later. I inhaled a 1/2 of the Drawbridge salad with chicken and chickpeas, added. All of the veggies were cold, crisp and incredibly fresh. Perfect for a warm Summer day. The chicken was flavorful, perfectly cooked and cold, as well. Greek dressing is homemade and highlighted all of the salad's ingredients. The 1/2 salad comes in a small box, but do not be fooled, it was a very filling portion. I appreciated the darling little pretzel knots they served with the salad, which soaked up the remains of my salad dressing. Yum! Meh. I called and asked for 1/2 tomato bisque soup and a half an Antrim panini, add onion. The girl on the phone wasn't the friendliest. My friend had the Drawbridge salad. It was $26 when I arrived. They gave me a whole sandwich and they didn't add onion. The sandwich inside was mushy and had little flavor. The crust on the panini was very hard. But, the tomato bisque was delicious, although cold. My friend said she was disappointed by the salad and wished it had chicken and croutons. She did say the flavor of the dressing was great. read more

This is a unique little spot in Charlevoix, MI. Order from a half door in an alley, then wait for your food. There are several tables with chairs to sit at while you wait and then eat. The food was good but the wait was brutal. A busy time including a food delivery truck trying to bring supplies in the same door at which orders are placed and handed out created a long delay for orders. But when the food arrived, we were not disappointed. Very good soup, Panini's and salads. I got the large Drawbridge salad which might have been a little light on the toppings (to my liking, I like lots of veggies, etc) but was truly very good with a mild Greek dressing. Hint: stay close to the ordering door to hear your name called. They must not say it very loud because we had to check on our order and it was sitting there ready. read more

This spot hits the spot! We stopped by for a little breakfast and it was great. Although they did not have any coffee, we were able to get a great grab and go açaí bowl. Brand new salad and soup place in Van Pelt Alley off Bridge Street. Pros: the produce is super fresh and delish. Cons: prices are high for what you get: $12 for a salad with a minimal amount of protein. I got a Venetian Salad because it had chicken. The chicken was disappointing; chopped into tiny pieces, almost like they were scraps. Hubby got a Greek salad, which he said was very good (although they don't offer traditional Greek dressing). There's a small counter inside, but it's really a takeout place. They've got an attractive bank of tables in the alley for outdoor seating if the weather's nice. 2-1/2 stars. They would rate higher if they got better chicken and revisited their pricing. read more

I was very patient and polite and yet the staff was very rude. my meal took nearly 25 minutes even though I only ordered avocado toast and soup. then when I finally got my meal, part of it was missing and they said "we didn't give it to you because you were in a rush." I was excited to hear they had Açaí Bowls. I usually love it plane then like to add my own toppings. I tried it plane and it tasted like mushed you Bananas. It's obvious that they try to offset the cost of the Açaí by adding bananas then charge $10 for a .25 cent banana mushed up with very little açaí. No thanks. read more

Although the salads are a little expensive they are delicious. I ordered a couple pretzel bites and ended up with a bag full. I think it was because it was near the end of the day and they didn't want them to go to waste. They were really good as well. Overpriced. Agree with others that the salads are not worth the price. We ordered two salads and had two ice teas from the cooler and I was shocked at our bill. Very average size salads. Not many proteins to add. The lettuce was not cut up into reasonable bites. My "greek salad" that has a special name had lots of peppers instead of tomatoes. I probably should have made a "custom salad", but the salad starts at $10 and every item you add is 0.75. It adds up quickly. The worst part is that they serve your salad in a box and give you pre-wrapped silverware that was so flimsy you couldn't hardly use it. The napkin in the package was like a small dry wipe rather than a napkin. If your name is "Salad Fork" and you charge double high rates, at least give us something decent to fork the salad. read more
