Came to this salon after seeing they were having a special promotion on a haircut and partial highlights, brought my mom because she had been wanting to get her haircut for a while. We had never been here before so we didn't know what to expect but SYLVIA exceeded our expectations! She greeted us right away and offered such kind and amazing service throughout the whole appointment! Truly the best hair stylist we've ever had, my mom was so happy and I was too just seeing how happy she was with her end results! About me: I loath my jet black hair with every fiber in my body. It makes me look way too serious and frumpy. Hence the need to break up the darkness with some serious color. Additionally, I'm incredibly high maintenance, irritatingly picky but can't make a decision to save my life, and ask far too many questions for my own good. It's incredibly rare when you find a stylist that truly understands your personal style, the color and/or cut you have in mind, and most importantly can actually pull it off. This review for Danielle R. is long overdue since I've been coming to her for years. First off, Danielle has more patience and understanding for my gibberish than I ever will. Most of the time, I just mumble phrases of styles or colors I've seen in a magazine or heard friends talk about. All of which make absolutely no sense at all. She takes her time to figure out what I really want and realistically tells me if its possible given the state of my chemically treated hair. She consistently knows how the color will turn out and what to do if my hair acts up. She constantly checks on the colors development and the overall condition of my hair. Once she starts mixing colors, toners, conditioners, it's almost like magic. I have incredibly sensitive skin and she uses products that are unlikely to irritate my skin or leave me with a rash/hives. Her foils are damn near perfect and she has an impeccable memory of what did/didn't work from all my previous visits. Her attention to small details like that not only saves time but shows how much she truly cares about her clients. Again, I've been coming here for years and I'm always greeted with a hug and smile, and leave utterly thrilled beyond my imagination at the end result. A few months ago I came in and left it up to Danielle to pick between two colors: caramel brown or blonde. I literally said the words "surprise me! I know I'll love it!" As soon as she was done and started to dry it, I instantly didn't like it. Danielle could just tell and offered to fix it immediately. I politely declined b/c it was my own fault. I told her to pick the color and now I was complaining?! Who does that? That's crazy talk! I kept telling her "I love it! I'm just not used to it." She saw right through me and refused to let me leave unhappy. She stayed an additional two hours to fix my inability to choose a color. Hands down she did an amazing job without frying my hair. Even though it was 100% my fault Danielle never made me feel uncomfortable for speaking up or annoyed b/c I just tacked on two more hours to the end of her work day. I can't say enough positive things about Danielle as a stylist and her amazing skills. It's really challenging to lighten jet black hair to blonde without seriously damaging it, looking brassy, or going ridiculously too light. But some how Danielle consistently makes it possible for me and I'm obsessed with how it turns out! Trust me, make an appointment with her even if you have to wait. You wont regret it! DO NOT COME HERE. First off, the "salon lady" Sheila, was beyond rude right off the bat. She made me seem like I was an inconvenience to her and the salon. Beside the point... I had virgin hair and I wanted to get an ombré done. I was later set up with Marina, one of the stylists. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said "okay." When I saw what she had done to my hair, I was in complete shock. She DID NOT give me the ombré I wanted but rather blonde highlights that were evidently different from my natural roots! It looked horrible. In the underlying of my hair, you can see the line that separated my natural color and the blonde highlights. There was no gradual progression of lightening of my hair, like an ombré is, but rather just the same blonde highlight color all around. This is the definition of "Ombré gone wrong!" I was so unhappy that the next day, I went back to complain and get a refund. No way was I going to let them touch my hair again! Sheila, rude yet again, came out without greeting me and proceeded to take pictures of my hair without my consent. She then began to argue with me that what I had received was an "ombré." SHE THEN CONTINUED TO TELL ME THAT IF I GET A REFUND AND NOT FIX MY HAIR, IT WOULD BE FRAUD. Who in their right mind would go to complain and ask for a refund if they were happy with their hair?! Her reasoning made absolutely no sense. To end this, please stay away from this salon. read more

Amazing job by Salina! Today I have been beautifully transformed into a golden brunette. I came in as a blond and Salina spent 4 hours getting my hair to look amazing. I came across this salon while shopping inside the JcPenney store. I'd been planning on getting my hair trimmed for weeks and decided to give this place a shot, after all the place looked very welcoming & the girl at the front desk was very friendly & professional. For reference I came in with very straight, long hair with long layers . I thought that a simple trim was not something hard to achieve, well I was wrong! The lady that cut my hair was really nice and I'm not here to bash her but the cut she gave me was horrible. I originally asked her to cut about 3inches off in a v- shape with long layers I told her I DID NOT want short layers or bangs. Well she said she understood and proceeded to cut my hair... in the end my hair was significantly shorter with short unblended layers! I was super upset but didn't say anything! I'm now waiting for it to grow out & will be more careful the next time I'm looking for a good hair salon. I asked to wash my child hair before the cut and she looked very bothered by the request stating that hair washing is not part of the kids cut. Stopped in the Carson J.C Penny to do some shopping and decided to stop in the Salon. bad decision. They give you one price at the front desk and once they start on your hair they inform you that the price is now double, and if you want to continue the service. well hello! All I wanted was a basic clipper fade with a number 2 blade, which they refer to as a design cut which made the price go up. not the best experience, I had the feeling the stylist didn't feel to much like working that day.
