I'm so happy I took a chance and gave The Salon a call. I have very curly hair (3c for those in the know) and my salon experiences have been shall we say...not ideal? Anyway, it's been years since I've had any type of color outside of my at home L'Oréal 5G root job every few months. Because finding someone with curl experience is unbelievably difficult, I trim my hair at home. But I wanted something new and fresh; I'm feeling great and wanted my outside to match how I'm feeling inside. Soo decided to take a chance. I spoke with Jenna, who was personable and professional and got me in for an immediate consult. I let her know about my hair texture and she promised to match me with the best stylist for me. And boy did she! Enter Yoli, hair goddess extraordinaire. She listened to my concerns, looked at what I wanted (balayage) and suggested a better color option based on what I've currently been doing as well as maintenance. Yoli was able to see me within the week and OMG I'm so stoked with my hair! She gave me a beautiful golden balayage, delivering exactly what I wanted and above all she was totally skilled and comfortable with my curls. She also recommended great products which I purchased because what's the point of investing upfront with no upkeep? Products are fab and smell so good (bonus!). Violet is amazing! I have been coming to her for my balayage, upkeep, and haircuts and I always leave with amazing hair. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love my experience. My two stars are for the friendliness of the staff who helped wash and then the stylist I chose to cut my hair. I asked for a blunt bob above my shoulders with a small piece hanging in the front (not necessarily an a-line). I left with textured ends, hair reallllly uneven, and I also left the salon with wet hair at the nape (circled pic). I knew my haircut was going south towards the end of the appt and I asked if she can fix it because one side was visibly longer than the other. She did have another appt waiting almost 30 min past her scheduled time, so I felt bad asking anything. She ended up cutting one small area of my left side and then proceeded to just flip that side of my hair over to make it less visible, even though I had a middle part and she knew that. I don't get my haircut often because I have small babies at home, but it's just really disappointing when you spend all that $ and it turns out uneven and essentially not even what I asked for. read more

I came in with faded copper with my roots grown in and she gave me the transformation I wanted! I asked for dark brown (my natural hair color) with soft red highlights (nothing chunky or too overpowering) and with a layered haircut. I really enjoyed my experience here. I have long, dense and dry hair that doesn't hold color well. My experience was already great before even walking in. I had made an appt online for color but totally forgot to also book the cut. I called about 3 days before my appt and asked to add on the cut, they told me it was no problem and added it in. When I arrived at the salon I was offered water or coffee, ask for the vanilla coffee, delish! My stylist was Uyen, she was right on time for our appt and did about a 5 minute consultation before we got started. She truly listened to everything I asked for. She updated me constantly throughout the color process, how long things would take, what she was doing next and why she was doing certain things. MARITZA did my hair for the second time today and I'm in love with it. First visit she did a balayage for me and asked ahead of time for a reference picture of what I was looking to achieve and a picture of my hair currently. I appreciate that she is so detail oriented. It turned out so well and I have never received so many compliments on my hair. I've had balayage done multiple times but it usually only looks good when it's styled and wavy. When Maritza did it I didn't even have to style it for it to look good because she did such an amazing job at blending. Today's visit was a root touch up. I've been getting white, not grey, hair since my early 20s. She was able to use a permanent dye like we did last visit and I know it will last at least 6-8 weeks for me. Well... I tried and gave the benefit of the doubt. My 1st hair appointment with Nguyen was great so that's why I went back TWICE. Also, this review is specifically for Kaylea/Kayla (so bad that I didn't even care to learn her name). Again this review is NOT for other stylist in The Salon. 1st I want to say 99% of the ladies in The Salon are super nice and smile and greet you! But my experience with stylist Kaylea/Kayla was bad, both times. The 1st sit with this stylist she did color and cut. I specifically asked her to go a bit lighter but noted I did NOT WANT red. She did my hair and it was super RED, I was so upset that I stayed an additional 2 hours so she could correct it. Let me add that I sat in the chair and knew that she was over processing my hair (ifykyk) she took an extremely long break with the product in my hair, I was starting to get concerned. She wasn't watching the clock and said she had set an alarm that NEVER went off. Regardless like I said, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her color correct and I was on my way. (June 2022) Fast forward to Nov 1st 2022, I called the "The Salon" and asked for an appointment with Nguyen, I had a feeling! Unfortunately Nguyen is in vacation and I needed my hair done for an interview and I was booked again with Kayla/Kaylea. I arrived early and was sat in the chair on time but I knew she was still finishing up with her previous client (who was still at the bowl), she did a 10 min consult and quoted me $395 for the services I was asking for. She went to finish the color in her previous client and I sat for 30min. I didn't want to say anything because if I was that client I wouldn't want my hair rushed. She did get an assistant to blow dry her previous clients hair so she could start on mine. As her other clients hair was drying I could see the look on her face, the look of disappointment. Her client told her I "Don't SEE it" meaning the color. She took her to the front to check out and see her hair in the sunlight. (I thought to myself, she better not pull that crap on my). She continued to lift the color from my hair and I can see that it's VERY color less. I wondered in my head how she was going to achieve the color I was asking for but also thought to myself, stop she's the stylist. Now she's adding "low lights" to my hair "for dimension". She took me to the bowl and took the foils out added the toner and washed my hair. Back in the chair I sat with a towel on my wet her and as she removed the towel my face dropped with disappointment (the same look her previous client had). I knew right away the look is was going for was not achieved. She cut and blew my hair then took me to a "better lit area" of the salon so I could see it better. There was NO DIFFERENCE (besides the cut). My hair color looked exactly the same as when I walked in. I'll post pics of what I asked for and what I got. Checking out, I told her and she knew I was NOT happy. She charged me $244, I still don't know for what. I thought to myself damn that was an expensive hair cut, cause that was the ONLY difference I saw. She asked me if I wanted to schedule another appointment to "fix" the issue. I declined. So I left with a ruined shirt (cause she got toner all on the sleeves), greys still showing and total disappointment! You've been warned DONT waste your time and MONEY with Kaylea/Kayla. Lucy is a miracle worker! I am a military spouse and move every 2-3 years. This means that it is extremely difficult for me to find a high-quality salon that I trust because trust takes time to build, and I am not afforded that luxury. I have had bad haircuts in the past in my attempt to find a hairdresser I like, so I often go without getting my hair done just because I don't want to risk walking out of a place with a bad style or cut that I can do nothing about. Lucy took her time and gave me plenty of attention. From the moment I started the consultation, to the minute I left the salon, Lucy never rushed me. I was in her chair for SEVEN HOURS (as she corrected a bad highlighting job that had been done previously by someone else, fixed my color and gave me a wonderful cut & overall experience). She was conservative with my haircut and gave me plenty of time to change my mind and decide. She ended up cutting my hair three times because I kept choosing to go shorter. I absolutely love this look. I have not loved a salon experience in many, many years. If you have the chance to book with Lucy, you will not be sorry. I don't really understand how this place has good reviews. The only good thing about this place was Fabiola's hospitality. Violet is absolutely terrible, and tried to upcharge for curls... my friends hair is not that long to warrant a charge. We booked 2 wash and styles and had to get the owner involved to which he clarified if the service goes past 45 min then there's an extra charge... violet was not happy about that and was complaining the duration of my friends service to which she disappeared and the owner took over. The curls she received looked like day old curls, don't even know how that happened, we ended up going back to her house and i had to redo her hair for her bday... I was scheduled with Alejandra and ended up with Fabiola no idea why but nonetheless a happy surprise because she was the ONLY one with a nice attitude.
