What a fantastic gem this place is ! Perhaps the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had . Beautifully prepared scrambled eggs,cheese and bacon nestled in the most delicious soft pretzel roll . I've also had their stuffed pretzels and recommend the ham,cheese and apple but the best of them all was the rib eye and cheese .... I'm still thinking about this combo weeks after . The website and yelp hours are wrong. We arrived and looked inside but were meeting someone so went to wait outside for 15 minutes before ordering, we were never told they were closing soon. When we went in to order at 4:59, we were told that they closed at 5. When we told him his website said they were open until 5:30, the owner screamed at us to check google directions for their hours not his website and they were closed. Continued screaming that he owned his website and to check google. No offer to quickly ring us up. We will not be returning. read more

We were curious about this little shop so we decided to stop in and see why there were so many cars in the parking lot! Once you step inside this sparkling beauty, the answer is instantaneous. Greeted by The Salt Box's courteous staff, we were happily, joyously overwhelmed by their delicious options: regular pretzels, cinnamon/sugar pretzels, savory/stuffed pretzels, breakfast pretzels....and boy do they have the dips to go with them! They are baked to perfection, and the quality of their ingredients are top notch. Just as outstanding is the ice cream. It surely is the best ice cream I have ever had. The flavors are so pure and amazing ~ it truly is a little scoop of heaven on earth. Great breakfast sandwiches on a pretzel roll with siracha ketchup. Many different flavors of soft pretzels stuffed with meats and cheeses.

First trip here we got 4 different stuffed pretzels. All were hot (at least one got heated for us) and tasted great. The salt made us thirsty and the woman who seemed to run the place was happy to give us a few cups of water. A great experience. We went back a week later but had a different experience. Got another sampling of stuffed pretzels. Asked the gentlemen who served us if they were hot and was told all were. Three were warm to hot. One was not. Asked him for a cup of water and was told, firmly, that they have water for sale. When I said I'd be happy for tap, I was told they have boxed water available for purchase. I forget the wording the third time, but he did not seem willing to give me a cup of water. I told him that last time we visited it was not an issue and he grudgingly agreed. Paying more than $25 for 4 pretzels is a lot, but they are large, interesting, and tasty. Being asked to pay more than $12 for water just seems greedy, especially when it varies depending on who waits on you. In addition, we saw prices on almost nothing. No prices posted for ice cream, dips for pretzels, drinks and some pretzels. No paper menus with prices either. The only items with prices were some but not all of the pretzels. I would give the place 5 stars for food and 2-3 stars for the experience. Make it more like our first visit, not our second. read more

How does this business stay open and gain any customers with hours as they have? Seriously, it closes at 5:30pm Tue-Sat! Forget about grabbing an ice cream with friends or family after dinner. My first time there and it was great. I had the roast beef stuffed pretzel and the meat was moist and the pretzel was still crispy on the outside. The fresh lemonade was good not too strong or too sugary. And the Sweet & Salty ice cream is wonderful on a warm summer day. I will definitely be back. read more

We've been wanting to try The Salty Box for a while but we were having a hard time getting there during their business hours. We finally made it and SO glad we did. We ordered four pretzels between the four of us and each was delicious- rosemary and mozzarella, steak, jalapeño and everything cream cheese. Can't wait to go back to try the others. read more

I'm born and raised in Arizona, so I had to check out this joint! Visiting out of town and this was recommended to me. Let me first start off by saying, You can tell WHY this place gets so much business from the first greeting of the friendly workers, the delectable pretzels, and refreshing ice creams. I'm not a big chocolate fan, but when they explained the varieties and let me sample some of the ice cream options that were unique and flavorful, I was thoroughly impressed. THE. PRETZELS. They cook it to perfection and allow the flavors to come through harmoniously from the middle of the bread. I am used to seeing the additions being mixed in with the dough, so when I saw how well they cooked the additions in the middle of the pretzels... let's just say I'm OBSESSED. That takes an expert baker to master a skill set such as that. Now I get to come back to AZ and brag about the amazing pretzels, ice creams, and fresh lemonade I got to devour. Stopped in last week on a friend's recommendation to check it out, went back today and left with a giant bag of pretzels. Love that they have salty, sweet, and even spicy offerings - and then a nice offerings of dipping sauce. There seems to be a steady stream of traffic in and out, but they get everyone through very efficiently. read more
