Ever since making our decision to relocate to Bucks County PA we continue to visit and reminence at the Lumberville General Store as this was were we made our decision to move. Always a wonderful and cheerful experience. The staff are wonderful, the people so friendly and every so cozy as as there is a ton of history on this property. Having just left the Tinicum Art Festival, photographing for River Towns Magazine we were tired, and hot... had to sit inside, even though the ourside grounds are so inviting. Terrific seeing so many lunch/brunch opitions on their regular menu. We shared the roasted turcky sandwich with one twist, in a wrap vs the bread to accomodate my wife's preference. She got the Joe's Icead Tea and I had a local bean decafe iced coffee. Was so relaxing sitting inside, enjoying our lunch and convesation with the staff about our long ago memories of staying at the Black Bass Inn. A must check out spot. They were like very thin crisps, small pieces, cold, and like potato chips. I asked the server if these were home fries? They were honestly the weirdest interpretation of home fries. My wife and I go biking on the Delaware Canal paths on the PA side. We stop into this general store to fill our hunger pangs after a ride. Sandwiches are very good. A very consistent place for lunch . I've gone thru most of the menu at this point and will say that everything is pretty good across the board . The ingredients are fresh and the proportions are ample . The staff is very friendly and accommodating to special request . They get you fed pretty quickly and offer both indoor and outdoor seating . My Aunt brought me just recently for my first time! Everything was awesome!!! The place was so cute & clean! I loved all the seating areas they had. The staff was as so friendly & nice. Stopped here for lunch while on a Bucks County photography tour. Wendy was an amazing host to us. Our sausage minestrone soup was amazing, perfect on a cool December day. So happy to finally try this place today. We strolled in for lunch after a walk on the tow path. The inside is rustic with tons of tables, chairs and a lounge area in the back. You order at the counter then pick your own table. There were a bunch of tables and chairs outside also. We sat outside and loved being able to leisurely eat out food and enjoy the sun. They have a small menu and have a special each day. The kids menu comes with juice and ice cream. The sandwiches come with a side and you can upgrade to fries. All of the food was fresh and flavorful. The ice cream was so rich a creamy. On Fridays and Saturdays they have supper club and have a new menu each weekend. On a beautiful November afternoon, two friends found themselves in a quaint, little spot across the street from a river. Though the temperatures were low, the sun was beating down just enough to us be seated outside to enjoy the views of nature and enjoy an autumn day. The staff were great. The burger was really good. But that scone; it was something else. It was the perfect blend of tartness and sweetness that just made life more beautiful. I would love to come back when the weather gets warmer to experience the outdoors because from the looks of it, it's even more beautiful in the spring and summertime. A very good side salad packed full of flavor with just a hint on cheese to add a nice saltiness. The watermelon gazpacho was a daily special. I was thinking more of a traditional gazpacho with chunks of watermelon. This one was actually puréed watermelon "broth" filled with fresh tomatoes, onions and a hint on jalapeños. Too sweet for me, but perfect once I added Sriracha from the table. Served with a slice of whole grain bread. Very tasty meal. Soup, 2 farmers salads, 2 bottles of water for $21. What a bargain. We came here for lunch outside in a beautiful day yesterday. It's great to see how much outdoor seating they've added! There were a couple of fire pits going to make it a bit cozier, too. The Lumberville General Store seems to be a popular spot to stop for cyclists along the canal. With such a scenic location and it's proximity to Bulls Island, I understand why. All four of us ended up ordering the breakfast burrito! It was so good- the egg and melted cheese tasted just like the egg sandwiches at my favorite bagel shop growing up. What a cute, quaint little place on River Road just across the street from the Black Bass Hotel. The building is from the 1740s and has a lot of charm and character. When I walked into the general store I felt like I entered another era. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee pastries and deli items. They also sell miscellaneous goods such as nuts, candies, candles, cards, mugs etc. The main room is set up as a dining area with lots of unique tables and chairs. Here I enjoyed a spinach salad with grilled chicken and a winter coffee blend. There are 2 additional indoor rooms, one is set up lounge -style with a wood burning stove and comfy seating, the other would be a great private party room as it has a large banquet table and additional sofa seating. On this beautiful wintry December day the outdoor seating area was welcoming as the fire pits were blazing with fresh burning logs, surrounded by Adirondack chairs. There is a bike rental area and postal boxes for the locals whose homes sit along River Rd. Just a quaint place overall and I look forward to going back! read more

The person at the counter was new and no one could tell me if they made their own roast beef. I got a BLT with roast beef. Friend got a salad. It was fine but the bacon was tired. The tomato mushy. I loved this place! So cute and inviting. Lots of seating and a good variety on the menu. I got the autumn veggie wrap. It was really good just a little spicier then I expected. My friends got the French toast and cinnamon bun muffin. They enjoyed their food although the muffin could of been better if it were warmed up. We stumbled upon this place after going to a winery in the area. We yelped it first to see where we'd go for some baked goods since we wanted some dessert. I was very excited about what I would eat, but actually was disappointed with the selection of things when we got there. I guess I was expecting some tasty desserts, but by the looks of the empty dining area- I could tell there wasn't any satisfied customers enjoying the goodies. The shop was set up with a deli style feel, you look at the food and ice cream behind the glass. There are muffins and brownies. They also sold bags of candies, hot sauces and mugs with their name on it. I ordered a hot chocolate and a banana nut muffin. I waited patiently as the man behind the counter poured the drink from this really huge machine. Then I stood up there waiting for my muffin- he forgot what I ordered. No biggie I reminded him again. What I didn't like was how he gave my mom back her debit card. He threw it on the counter in front of her instead of handing it to her. Stuff like this pisses me off- that was so rude. Bad customer service was my first impression of the place. So I grab my food and sit down. It was cool how the muffin cane in this neat black basket, but the taste of the muffin was terrible. It was dried out and it had no flavor. The hot chocolate was good but it was over powered with chocolate and sweetness. Drank two sips then threw it out! Thank God I only spent 6 bucks on the both of them! I wasn't too happy with the customer service then I get a terrible dry muffin. Not cool! I like the way the place looks on the inside but I'd never eat there again. I heard nothing but complaints from my family who also bought chocolate muffins and brownies and heard them complaining about how dry this was or that was. It's cool it's the oldest general store in America, but it needs to update its taste. I hate to give bad reviews but I just didn't feel like they lived up to what their reviews say on here. Waited 5 minutes at the register to buy a souvenir mug (after already purchasing other goods) before 1 of the 2 employees decided to help me out... also, If you're advertising an Easter dinner it would be wise to have the employee's informed of such event. I was told to "check out our Facebook or website... it might be on there" I enjoyed the coffee and chocolate croissant and also the ambiance... but again, service is lacking. This is for the General Store's Supper Club. They hold a pre fix dinner on Friday and Saturday nights only. This is a super quaint place where they also have breakfast and lunch daily. Our main courses were Short Ribs and Mushroom Risotto preceded by a vegetable salad ( mostly greens and beets but very good!) and focaccia with hummus. Everything was very good including service. This place is such a happy oasis! Order your food inside and wait outside in a GORGEOUS and relaxing setting as they bring it to you. Really cool and varied outdoor seating options like real tree trunk tables, Adirondack chairs etc. The food was done really really well - including basic stuff like egg and cheese sandwich and potatoes but man, just made perfectly and so delicious.
