The Salt Studio is AMAZING! My wife and had the salt room experience first and that was really helpful in de-stressing and just overall relaxation. I had the pleasure of reiki massage and I can't give it higher praise. I've been going through some stressful times at work that have manifested physically (tight muscles, nerve pain) and the reiki massage really allowed my body to awaken and start healing itself on its own. It's difficult to describe but you can almost feel your body start soothing the painful areas. I would also feel over the next day or two more mental peace and clarity as my body continued to heal. Heard of this place from One Life Yoga. Barbara massaged me for 90 mins and it was the most amazing massage I've had and I've been to a lot of massage places!! I usually go to the asian ones cause I'm cheap but I've treated myself once in a while to more expensive ones but Barbara's massage exceeded my expectations/ past experiences. I requested deep tissue and she delivered. She listened to my request to focus on upper back, shoulders, low back and hips. She really worked on the knots and every contact was therapeutic. I've been coming to the Salt Studio since 2021 and have loved their services, both before and after the change of ownership. I come for traditional massages and haven't tried their Reiki. Their practitioners are great - responsive, sensitive, and caring. Their front-desk staff are always kind and accommodating and they can often get me with a day or two's notice or even (sometimes) the same day. This a great place to get a massage that's better quality than the cheap membership establishments and cheaper than the expensive, super high-end spas. read more

I booked holistic facials and massages for my friend and I for her birthday, and the spa is a cute, tiny place. Miranda was very helpful with booking and very sweet giving us tea when we arrived. Rhys was awesome and gave us both the most amazing massages we've ever had in our lives!!!! She is gentle, moves slowly, and made us feel pain-free and rejuvenated! It was AMAZING!!! Kathleen was very sweet but her facial was not at all what we were expecting. I am a licensed esthetician and so going in for a facial. I expect a skin consultation and for my face to be cleansed, exfoliated, and hydrated. That is not what we received. Kathleen's "lymphatic strokes" were not stimulating at all. She was stroking our faces so lightly, she was barely touching us and then she was lightly brushing our face with what looked like an eyeshadow brush. The aromatherapy compresses smelled nice and felt good and were followed by a serum and some moisturizer. I was really looking forward to the lymphatic massage for my face and having my pores cleaned and was disappointed that is not what I got for the price I paid! I would definitely recommend Rhys for an unforgettable massage. The spa is located in a tiny shopping center with free parking and the salt room is ok. read more

I had a 90 minute massage with Alyssa on Saturday. It was the most intuitive, healing massage I have had in ages. It never felt formulaic. She seemed to know instinctively where the pain was and she "worked" on those areas without becoming too harsh. It felt like an Esalen massage. I have feeling back in my hands for the first time in weeks because of the work she did on my upper shoulders. There are a few massage therapists out there who have a sort of healing touch. The best alternative to albuterol! After two weeks of salt therapy the cough is nearly eliminated. This is our third week of therapy and i have seen great strides. I included my younger son in the therapies as I had no child care for him. He has a very mild case of eczema and the treatment also helped with his skin condition. I love it here! I've been to the Salt Studio a couples times and every time I've been I have gotten a massage with Brittany. She is AMAZING. She is really good and what she does and makes sure you are always comfortable. She asks throughout the massage if you are ok with what is being done whether you would like anything different. She has made suggestions to me about what kind of treatment will help sore muscles and her advice is GOLDEN. I haven't gone into the salt room yet but am planning on it soon. I booked an early Mother's Day massage appointment for my ladies at the Salt Studio last week. It's rare when we get to see each other and spend time so we decided on this place instead of the Korean spa because it was a more local spot to relax and catch up. It was an easy appointment to set up. Receptionist was extremely accommodating to schedule my groups appts together so we could hang in the salt room and my other two friends said they liked their chakra massage and facial. However, the mud wrap with 60 min massage was less to be desired by me and my friend. We both are spa goers and our disappointment was completely the same: 1) Therapist didn't apply mud on our face or torso, or midback 2) It didn't seem like a wrap...usually feel like a butterfly busting out of a cocoon afterwards...very underwhelming 3) massage was toooooo delicate...this was a man! Felt like the therapist was still learning which is a tough one to criticize but considering the price tag...ain't nobody got time for that! read more

I did not know this place was here and frankly I didn't know such a place even existed. I never heard of a Salt Studio; however, I became aware through Groupon. I redeemed a voucher today. I arrived about 10 minutes early and got out of my shoes and into the provided booties. The room appears to be set up for 5 people; however, I was the only one during the 5pm session today. Unfortunately, they didn't even have me in the system even though I made an appointment. I'm not sure why. Anyway, I was in for 45 minutes. On the wall, there is a list of things that time in a salt room can help. I am sure that is based on the individual and if those things could improve or happen, I am sure it will take several sessions (and I'll be back...trust me); however, for me this was used purely as a relaxation tool. And guess what? It served its purpose. I am pretty sure that I was dozing in and out for about half the 45 minute session. Although it was a very good value with the Groupon, I looked at the normal prices and they also appear reasonable and a good value. It also looks like they have various packages to purchase at an even greater discount. Nice place, relaxing and friendly service. I give this a 5 star rating and plan on returning. read more

I've used the salt room and attended a sound bath at the salt studio. The salt room is so relaxing and really helps with my allergies. I did a few sessions when I was recovering from pneumonia and I think they helped. The sound bath was led by Paola Beas. She is amazing. What an amazing healing experience. This year's Flu left my body kind of ravaged. All my membranes were hypersensitive, and any variations in temperature, any exercise, blowing dust...seemingly ANYTHING...would irritate my bronchia and sinuses. A trainer at my gym told me about the Salt Studio -- and I called and made a same day appointment. There's off-street parking and the small spa is tucked back in the corner of the parking lot. The staff was caring and considerate and explained the medicinal benefits of breathing salt air to me. Early medicine practitioners in Europe noted that people who worked in the Salt Mines seemed to be unaffected by many maladies that plagued average people. They began taking patients down into the mines to spend time, and many were cured. I had heard about this when I toured an actual salt mine in Austria. The Salt Studio has done an amazing job of constructing a tranquil salt cavern, right in Pasadena! The walls of the room are encrusted with salt crystals, the floor is completely coarse grain salt, and there are reclining chairs. They provide a heated neck pillow and blankets to cover up with, as the atmosphere in the "cavern" is cool and dark, much like a subterranean cave. The treatment takes 45 minutes...you simply relax and breathe in the dimly lit room. I was the only one taking the treatment when I visited, but there are about 8 chairs in the room. I found it relaxing and effortless, and I felt good when my time was up. One session costs $40, but a two-week, unlimited package is only $99, and since I wanted more, I went for it. I'm going back tomorrow. One added benefit, there's a Tommy's Burgers right across the street, so, when you come out feeling re-vitalized, you can have a short health walk to satisfy your Chiliburger "jones". (This may seem incongruent, but don't knock it until you've tried it. I may speak to the Salt Studio owner about conducting my own class in complete sensual saturation.) read more

Very peaceful and quiet in salt room. Great place to chill and meditate and take a nap. Hopefully the salt treatment does it's mysterious work and heals what ails you. But even if it doesn't, it's a nice experience with very good massages. And who doesn't like a massage filled by a nap? Be aware of the kid hours 3:00-4:00 daily. They are quiet and respectful, but still kids. So flipping the provided coloring book pages and clacking pencils in and out of the colored pencil holder can be a bit distracting. However, it's so great that they get the benefits too and are learning how to sit quietly with adults in a healing space. Special place. And hopefully, will ward off this cold I'm getting too! read more

She made sure that the pressure was just right and that I was comfortable. The place itself is inviting and peaceful. I just came in for the salt room and I will say that I was a skeptic, but it was a really great experience. I just wanted to breath it in and stay and play with the salt. You can sit in the comfortable chairs with salt at you feet and all around you as they grind salt and mist it into the room. You skin feels great after and so did my lungs. It was something new for both of us and ended up being a great way to start our day. We got lucky and no one else booked a session for that time so we had the room all to ourselves. The temperature was perfect and we felt so comfortable that we actually ended up spending the last 20 minutes of our session napping on the floor! They provided blankets and warmed up neck pillows. I visited this studio because I was in need of some acupuncture. Ideally, a gua sha session would've been great but not a lot of acupuncturists offer it outside of SGV. So, I settled on acupuncture & cupping. Immediately after walking into the lobby area of the studio, my breathing cleared up. Note: I had been sick with flu-like symptoms for the previous 3 days. The acupuncturist was running really late so they let me into the salt room. It was great (placebo effect? I think not). I could've napped in there. It reminded me of the salt room in the Aria spa. The acupuncture session itself was good & helped. I love cupping and have done it before. The cups had trouble adhering to my back so the session was so-so. Parking was easy but the lot is small. I recommend a salt room session & a salted caramel after! So good. read more
