Happy Hour Orders: 5/5: Dirty Fries (melted cheddar, duck confit garlic, herbs): This is supposed to be a shareable item. I loved it, but I would recommend getting one order per person. Especially, if you have a potato lover at the table -ha! 5/5: Tacos (marinated flank steak, guacatillo, cilantro, red fresnos): Perfect ratio of meat and sauce. Would mos def order again. 1/5: The Melt: an assortment of cold cuts. The buttery toasted garlic bread was amazing; however, soooooooooo much sauce: the result was drenched and soggy sandwich within seconds. And, overly salty. 3/5: Rack of Lamb x 2 = $76 Lamb cooked to medium perfection. Fingerling potatoes' level of softness was inconsistent (mush vs. hard). Unfortunately, the plate was drenched in oil. There was no escape from unnecessary amount of excessive oil. We would have sent it back, but no one stopped by to help us. For drinks, we got the Maui Coconut Porter & Nitro Left Hand Milk Stout. Both were excellent. 1/5: Service: Left to be heavily desired. Servers were chatty with each other. Half the place was closed off. There were at least 4 people floating in our corner, but it was difficult to get their attention to order more drinks or complain about the sea of oil on their lamb. Great service from the moment I walked through the door. My business partner and I were greeted and sat almost immediately. The food came out fairly quick and was cooked with care & perfection. I ordered two cocktails. I forgot what the first one was but the second one was called Hotline Bling. Honestly I got it just bc of the name and it turned out to be fuegoooo. For food we started off with the carnitas tacos. I'm always apprehensive abt eating gourmet tacos bc I'm Mexican .... lol but these were sooooo good!!!!!! Bomb!!!! Came here for brunch with a friend! We made reservations in advance but there wasn't a wait for a Sunday. This gastropub is located in Downtown Riverside. For cocktails, we got the olmos and oaxacan dead. For brunch, we ordered the huevos rancheros and PBLT. Both were delicious! My huevos rancheros was one of the best I've had. It was packed with flavors. While the PBLT's pork belly was so good. Very well crafted cocktails and lots of choices for their food menu. Service was also outstanding. The service was great but the food was late and when it arrived it was cold. We obviously came for the pulled pork, the restaurant's name is the salted pig after all. Upon being seated and selected our options we were informed that the pork menu items aren't available until after 4:30! Food was not anything special. Service wasn't great either. The hostess and waiter were soft spoken. We were seated in the last booth right next to the restroom when there were other tables opened. I mean who wants to sit right next to the bathroom. Food took a long time and arrived cold. The ribeye which was $48 was tough and tasteless. The burger and dirty fries had no flavor and questionable on how it arrived so much quicker than the first one when we asked them to remake it because it clearly looked like it had sat under the warmer for a while. The Salted Pig is the perfect brunch spot on Sunday morning after you've raved for 2 days straight at the NOS center. My friends and I for various dishes during brunch. We got the brunch burger, french toast, english breakfast and the bacon fat popcorn (not pictured.) Everything was perfect! All the dishes gave us the sweet savory combo that we were all looking for. Hash browns were delicious. smash burger was okay but nothing special, steak and eggs we returned completely because steak wasn't prepared correctly and smothered with A1, should put on the side since most people don't care for it on their steak, (ordered med rare and came out well and chewy)scrabble eggs were fine but when asked for over medium they came out hard. Prices were high for quality of food and preparation. They definitely need better signage out front. Delicious new menu that started on Saturday, May 8. We were lucky to try while in town. Wonderful restaurant, friendly staff, our waitress Vanessa was fabulous. Went here (2nd time) while up in Riverside for a Symposium I was attending (Mission Inn Hotel). I enjoyed this place last year.....restaurant has a cool vibe - Industrial look. The Salted Pig has some diverse selections. I ordered the Pork Belly Bun (Vietnamese dish)...I was pleased with the dish! Yummy! I also had a couple of good beers (Maui Coconut Porter and an IPA). My friends ordered burgers and both said they were very good. The restaurant is clean and the service is really good. There are plenty of places to park on the street. I recommend trying this place! We ordered the brussel sprouts and beets salad for starters and the falafel sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese to share as our entree. I've been dying to try this place and decided to visit around noon on Sunday. I would have probably given 4 1/2 stars if I would have been able to order all of what I wanted but it was a limited menu during the time I visited. I wanted to try the octopus but that was only available after 5. The drinks were creative with a definite artsy twist. I tried two of their specialty cocktails and both I would have ordered again. My only vice would be that the wood ( I think it was Palo Santo) burns on the tiki drink continuously and the smell just overpowered the drink. I put water on it to put it out. Good thought, creative and good for a pic, but if I order it again I would request it without. There were a lot of things I saw on yelp that were not available because they were on a seasonal rotating menu. I had the bone marrow (4/5), one of my three pieces of bone marrow had almost no bone marrow in it. I thought the sauce was a little ketchup forward but it did complement the marrow. I did like the addition of the Fresno chilies because who doesn't like a little heat? I tried a pork belly taco and would give that a (4.5/5) and I'm not even a fan of mole. I took a couple of bites of Mac n cheese but thought it was a bit dry and needed more sauce (2.5/5). Overall, I would come back to try some of the dinner items and it's in a great location in Riverside downtown. read more

This is not the Salted Pig you used to know. If you think this is the same as the old location on 12th Street, you couldn't be more wrong, and please, avoid because you'll be heartbroken. Gone is the industrial wood/metal design. Nothing good on tap. Inside decor is like Golden Girls chic attempt. Lots of mauve. It hurts to see. This used to be my most favorite place in Riverside, I'd stop here every time I was in town. What's it like now? Well, as a stand alone new restaurant experience, it's very expensive and underwhelming. Thank God they still make a burger because the menu is just a bunch of Asian fusion. One of my friends got the moo krob and holy canoli, where is the pork belly??!!!! A couple of small pieces buried in cabbage. It was just a mound of cheap veg. Profit margin on that $25 dish must be through the roof. The burger was good, but, it was a $22 dollar burger. YIKES. I mean yeah, Salted Pig management needs to pay higher rent at this Main Street spot but that was NOT a $22 burger. They are really really trying to make this a premium experience, but..... no. Not worth it. I have no problem spending a lot of money when the place and food is excellent, mind you. Ok Salted Pig. This place is easy to miss if you're not really paying attention to the signage. We were staying at the Mission Inn and looked forward to the 7/10 of a mile walk. Our very helpful waitress suggested sharing some plates so we started with the *Kimchi & roasted Brussel sprouts*, OMG! Some broccolini, the goddess salad with a side of protein, and those amazing *Yukon gold potatoes with Tziki!* their house made coffee ice cream is so creamy it was inhaled before it had a chance to melt!
