Showed up on a Monday. Parked in front of here to go to a different location in downtown Riverside and felt bad for parking in front just to go somewhere else. So I decided to pop in and have a couple of drinks. They were having what they called "Moustache Mondays" in which they played a variety of heavy metal/hard punk music in the venue. I was digging it! Had a nice talk with the bartender who informed me of the variety of events they have throughout the week. I decided to put in a song request and get down with the music that was playing. I guess I got a bit too into it and may have concerned either the bartender, the other guests, the security, or some combination thereof. Nevertheless, I took a walk outside to get some fresh air, and when I went back inside to get some water I was stopped by security and was told that they, "don't do glasses of water" and was firmly told that I was no longer welcome there. I completely understand the concern, and suppose I simply should have read the room better before letting loose with the way I express my body given their choice of music. I understand they would rather air on the side of caution and applaud them for that if nothing else, though I cannot say I am not disappointed to have been simply turned away. If I was too intoxicated to return, then I would not have been too intoxicated to get a glass of water, if even kept outside of the premises? Seems like they just wanted to keep "rabble" out and made me feel uncomfortable in a space I thought was safe. Me and a friend came here on karaoke night. Like other reviews on here, security wasn't friendly but at the same time I never expect them to be lol. Not something I'd complain about tbh. My friends and I decided to go out. I'd never been to this bar, but this has been their spot for a while. After spending time at another bar we decided to come here. The female security guard with the ugly blue hair was extremely hostile with my friends. After looking at my friend's ID she says, "Take your fake ID and get out." My friend was confused because she had just been issued that ID and all of us are 21 and over. She took my friend's ID and when we tried to get it back by explaining that the ID is real and scanned at another bar earlier, her male counterpart said, "If she says it's fake I trust her." The ID is literally real. My friend had her ID scanned at another bar earlier that night and there were no problems. I told them that if they didn't want us there then we would leave, but taking my friend's legal, state-issued ID was theft. He just shrugged and said they deal with this all the time. I am 71 years of age. Last night I went to Pixels to eat and drink. I had been there Monday night after so many months of lockdown in my assisted living facility due to the COVID-19 and truly enjoyed my time there primarily due to the bartender/server Kat. In fact, I enjoyed Kat's service and banter enough that I gave her a substantial tip on a $43.00 bill in a show of my appreciation. Last night I was asked for my ID for entry. Due to the Covid-19 all of us that needed to renew our CDL's since March of 2020 were automatically extended for one year by the DMV due to their worries of which I am one. The so called manager stated he couldn't admit me due to corporate policy even though he acknowledged he was aware of what the DMV had decided/done. He stated that my "expired" license was good for driving but not for admission to their establishment. My personal opinion of that so called manager is that he is a dweeb. If that is truly Pixel's corporate policy, they need to rethink it. If not, they need to send the dweeb back to whatever menial job he used to do. LADIES BE AWARE, recently this past weekend my coworker was roofied from this bar, and 6 months ago, my friend was also a victim. Hearing it twice now isn't a coincidence! It could be the bartenders or someone hanging out very close to the bar, because my friend never put her drink down in the first place! I went to this bar and ordered a top shelf liquor, as the bar tender was going to pour the vodka the bottle ran out. Instead of getting a new bottle of the actual liquor I ordered, she gets a cheaper bottom shelf vodka and proceeded to Pour it. I got her attention and told her she was pouring the wrong one. She was visiting from Mexico and at the entrance of the bar we gave the security guard her Mexico driver's license and Mexico ID. I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and how hostile the bouncers are on a MONDAY night. My friend and I were looking to have a drink here after having dinner. She was able to find her passport ID in her wallet but the blue haired bouncer had taken it from her. When confronted on how we could get her ID back we could not get a solid answer from any bouncer working and instead were advised to call the police. But the califlower was tossed in buffalo, the fries had a sprinkle of jackfruit, it was also missing avocado Upland crest, and cilantro the fresh herbs makes it the best balance.
