I had a potluck party and invited some friends over to my place. One friend picked up some Samosas from The Samosa House. The samosas are very big. The sauce that came with it was very spicy. But I do enjoyed the samosas. It was spicy without the sauce to begin with. It had a nice flavor to it. You can tell that it was made fresh by the nice crispy outer skin. One thing I liked about these samosas is that it is not greasy. I highly recommend trying their samosas if you have never had them here before. read more

We did a take out order and brought a party. We ordered a dozen butter chicken samosa's 6 veg and 6 spicy some pakoras and chutney etc. The butter chicken samosas were so dry and had no "sauce" butter chicken flavor. Nobody at the party finished one and most were left at the end of the party. The pakoras were so salty and again, more than half left at the end of the night. So disappointed and flushed $75 down the drain and felt bad we brought the crappiest food to the party! Will never order from here again! read more

I came here to use the coupon (free samosa without any purchase) from my Entertainment App before it expires. Yelper Edward L also highly recommended it and so I made my way to Surrey just to try this. After ordering and paying (I bought more since I was already here), then I checked in on Yelp and discovered you get a free samosa too. I did not bother to redeem it then, so I guess I will need to make another trip here again. I had the butter chicken and masala samosas. They were not the huge pyramid type like in other Indian restaurants. These were smaller and more manageable triangle shaped samosas. The masala was really spicy. I thought the butter chicken was ok. There were many more flavors and I would like to try the shahi in future. The only thing I did not like was how you need to order minimum 2 of the same type, making it hard to try 1 of every flavor. I rather they change their policy to order minimum 2 samosas of any flavor, which will make it easier for people to order more to try. The place is clean and has a decent size area to dine in. We went on the strength of other reviewers and had to try for ourselves when we were in the area. We weren't disappointed. The star was the veggie samosa. It was flavourful without being too spicy. I've been waiting to try samosa house and I'm glad I finally made it in. I ordered 10 samosas and it took around 5 minutes for my order to be prepared. Minimum order is 2 of any one kind. I picked classic (4), spicy(2), masala(2) and shahi(2) my total was $16. I loved every one and definitely will be back for more. The masala one is definitely the spiciest but still not too hot, the heat comes later. The shahi is creamy and delicious, the classic is exactly that and the spicy is the right level of heat. Each order comes with tamarind chutney and you can order mint or mango as well. I love that the tamarind is slightly sweet and the mint has a little heat. I've had samosas from this restaurant twice and both times have been great. The samosas are always fresh and hot. Each time I feel like I'm burning my mouth, which is amazing, cause I love hot food. I've had the chicken samosa, paneer samosa and the veggie samosas. The chicken samosas are delicious, but it's pretty clean, as in its not greasy. So if you want a greasy samosa, look elsewhere. The veggie samosas have just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming, and the paneer samosas were okay, not my favorite. I also had the chai, which was super hot, but for the price it's just too small. They should really give a medium sized cup. Overall, it's definitely a place worth visiting. Came by after noticing this place while browsing for food in the area. To be honest I wasn't expecting much, even while pulling up into the parking lot. Sure the place looks new, but it also looked really sterile. My thoughts were more focused on how long the place would actually last. After trying their product, all those fears went away. This place will do very well. Parking is available in the lot in front of the building. There aren't too many spots, but as of the time of writing they were sufficient. The place is a bit understaffed. When I went, it had only been open for some 3 weeks, so I understand if the operations still had a few kinks being worked out. The lady behind the counter often disappeared behind the kitchen door for several minutes at a time. As I didn't know what to try, I ordered 1 of each. All of them were absolutely delicious, especially with the included dipping sauce. The only one that stuck out (in a bad way) was the BBQ chicken one, which I found rather dry. Also, the sauce is too heavy and thick. For the same price I would recommend the butter chicken one instead. As Kenneth N. has mentioned, the samosas here are very uniform. I suspect there's got to be some kind of magical samosa packing machine in the back. Too bad the door doesn't have a window, or I would've gladly popped my head in for a look and a quick worshipping. As Kenneth has also mentioned, the samosas aren't greasy at all, unlike pretty much every other place I've ever tried in my life. Their product is excellent, and I can only hope that they keep up the good work. My only other complaint is that the samosas aren't bigger. They're not too bad as a snack at $1-2 each, but order a pile of them and the cost shoots up very quickly. They're so delicious that I could probably eat 20 of them in 1 sitting. But this place does offer discounts starting at 5 or more of the same flavour, so the solution is obviously to eat in bulk. While I normally wouldn't go out of the way anywhere to pick up samosas, this place has won me over. Highly recommended. read more

This is a cute little samosa shop with a different variety of samosas than what you will find at many sweet shops around Surrey. I ordered 2 spicy samosas and 2 butter chicken. As some else also pointed in their reviews the chicken samosa was very dry. I really liked the spicy one but the cost of the samosas to me is not worth it for the size. These are very small and I feel like you can get traditional samosas for less than the cost and bigger sizes. This place could go over the top with providing some variety of sauces with the samosas as well. It's a good place if you want to try something different, I don't think I will be coming back and would try a different place. read more

If you are ever craving samosas and contemplating whether to get those 2 for $1 samosas or samosas from The Samosa House... drop everything and go to The Samosa House!! The second I walked in, I was greeted by a very kind man. He was patient as I stared at the menu... sooo many options! I decided to get 2 classic, 2 spicy, 1 paneer, 1 butter chicken, and 1 BBQ chicken. As I was waiting for the samosas to come out, he sparked conversation and explained how the samosas they make here are different from the ones they make in sweet shops. He explained that his crust (whatever it's called) is very thin and so the samosa is not as oily. Basically he told me his samosas were A1 so that set my expectations very high. I received my samosas piping hot within 5ish minutes and went grocery shopping before going home to eat them. When I got home, I was thrilled to see that the samosas were still warm, crispy, and not soggy as what I'm used to! Each bag was labeled which I appreciated because I wouldn't have known what's what otherwise. The samosa wrapper was indeed very thin and not oily at all; kind of like a spring roll. The bag barely had any oily residue as what you would expect from those 2 for $1 samosas. It was not overstuffed with potatoes, and thus smaller, but no complaints because no contents actually fell out as I was eating! The spicy samosa is actually very spicy. The butter chicken one was good and had lots of chicken in it. The chutney sauce was more sour and tasted like it has lots of tamarind in it? I liked it! Everything was so delicious! Service is great, place is clean, and food is good! I'm glad I checked this place out and will probably boycott all other samosa places. read more

I'm liking this place. Right along a busy road in a small complex. It's got a simple idea to something we all love. Prices go by the type and priced cheaper the more you order which is a nice deal if you buy in bulk. While I didn't order of their originals, the butter chicken and barbeque chicken with tamarind were juicy and flavourful and a mix of veggies and chicken. I revisited this samosa house with a friend to try some of the other flavours. Also, the yelp perk of a free chicken samosa helped convince my friend to come along. There is a minimum 2 samosa order per flavour so I needed my friend there to try the different options. We received one free butter chicken and one free BBQ chicken samosa as our check in perk. We ordered the spicy and shahi flavours to share. The spicy samosa is also known as masala and it was actually spicy. The BBQ chicken was alright. The butter chicken and shahi (cottage cheese like filling) samosas were amazing. Now they have seating available for people to dine in, order a drink and share some samosas. A nice improvement from my last visit. I highly recommend stopping by to try a number of different flavours and use the check in perk to try the butter chicken samosa. But the extra star for not being greasy at all, as per pics. Probably baked, I'm guessing, what do I know about cooking, just focused on eating. Literally tried all the flavours but the spicy & garden mix are the top dogs. If you are a connossieur of samosas, you'll love this place. And this isn't no hole in the wall. These are the best samosas I've ever tried. The whole family agrees! THey have very thin crust; crunchy on the outside, a burst of flavour inside! We've tried Classic, Shahi, Chiken (all Kinds), Garden Vegetable (my favourite). If you order a chicken samosa, you get a samosa full of chicken. Garden Veggie -- full of veggies. Fast, very friendly service. Fresh and always delicious! My favourite thing about this place: While you are waiting for your samosas, you can see them being prepared by the ladies that remind me of my grandma. This is a new twist on the classic Samosa. In a sea of copy cats, it's nice to have something refreshingly new. Normally you get dough covered potato when ordering samosas but not here. Here you will find a lightly wrapped taste explosion! Similar to Greek Spanakopita, the samosa is lightly fried and filled with your choice of filling. Spicy was my favourite as well as my wife's. We tried The Butter Chicken, BBQ and Spicy from the recommendation of the owner Arvind who is a class act. Never rushed to order and the menu is simple. Found the table felt sticky so we asked for a cloth to wipe it, instead she rushed right over and cleaned it with a smile but it still felt sticky for some reason. We read nice reviews about this place on yelp, and gave it a try. We were visiting from seattle, which unfortunately doesnt have a place like this- dedicated to samosas! We tried the spicy and chicken samosas along with tea. Samosas are small in size, so make sure you order accordingly. They were yummy! The only thing different is you find potatoes fully mashed when you have a samosa in india, versus here there were small chunks of potato. Nevertheless, it was tasty.
