Came here 8/16/26 at noon, ordered bbq chicken wings, lemon pepper wings, and Cajun tots with a side salad. The bbq Wings were fine. The lemon pepper was WAY over seasoned (from someone who loves lemon pepper) and extremely salty. The Cajun tots were overcooked and not Cajun.....literally just a lot of chilli powder. So, after reading all of the wildly gyrating reviews we just decided to find out for ourselves. We headed on over from our place just down the street to see what was up. I mean when I walked past the evening before it looked really fun and vibrant and I was ready for anything. It turns out that the owner made a bad hire for a manager which lead to bad hires of bartenders and servers. That has now been recognized and changed with all new staff and the bringing back of an old hand to right the ship. We really enjoyed the space and the oyster shooters we had were fantastic. Apparently, the owner owns the oyster beds where they come from in Hoods Canal. The bartender is the old hand mentioned above and is thoroughly enjoyable to talk to and be served by him. read more

We had such great food at the Sand Bar we actually came back a second time the same weekend we were in town. First night we tried the calamari which were tossed in a green curry with fried wontons. I could have eaten an entire second bowl they were so good. I do love curry. We also got the spare ribs to share with a side of mac and cheese. These were very flavorful ribs. The mac and cheese was very bland which was very surprising considering the other two dishes were so good. We enjoyed a couple signature cocktails that were great - the rum barrel, and yuzu lemon drop. They also have an extensive bourbon list. Sushi night is on the weekends and we brought our friends back for that. Spoiler alert. Sushi was great! Loved the crunchy spicy tuna, the ultimate salmon roll, and the ahi poke bowl. Retired, my wife and I live halftime in Ocean Park; we've wanted to check out The Sandbar since it opened. With Yelp reviews all over the board, we walked in today at 5pm... and were treated like royalty. Seated immediately (the place was packed by the time we finished our dinner), Deanna our server was sooo friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an oyster shooter, Gouda mac 'n' cheese, fish tacos, a White Claw, and a perfect Grey Goose martini. All came out quickly (keep in mind, it's Memorial Day Weekend), all was delicious. Deanna checked in several times to make certain we were happy. Before we left, we peeked upstairs at the rooftop deck, and plan to dine there with family when they come to visit this summer. The food was good the service not so much.. The ambience was pleasant, very clean and inviting. The steam clams were definitely the highlight. The crab cob salad was also good, just not a fan of the house dressing.. Too horseradishy for me. The yellow curry calamari was also very good. We are not sure why the service fell off.. We stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We ordered the fish tacos, an order of wings, and fries and waited no less than 45 minutes for our food. The place is small, and although it was packed, we really could not figure out why things were moving so incredibly slow. Our waitress continually thanked us for our patience but offered no explanation about why things were taking so long. When our food finally arrived (after seeing it sit on the counter for a few minutes right in front of our table), it was pretty subpar. The wings were alright but standard, the fish in the tacos was 50% breading, and the fries were stringy and covered in oil. Long waits, not great service, and average food. This was our first time at Sandbar and we had a very nice experience. The vegetarian choices are limited but they offered a nice cauliflower steak which came with side. The customer service was good. They offer a full bar, which included signature drinks, wine and beer. It would be great to have more vegetarian options, but we enjoyed our experience and for many the menu offered a good range of options. read more

The ambiance was like a modern garage with lots of open space, windows and natural lighting. It was really Smokey by the front though. We were happy to sit in the back with the open garage door. The service was really slow. Even when there were lots of available tables, we weren't seated right away. The servers were nice and friendly but so slow. And our servers forgot 2 out of 4 of our orders. She eventually served 3 plates but forgot one. It was sad! We ended up taking it home. The clams were popular. It was good. Last night my bf and I were looking for a place to eat and have some drinks. We were walking on the Main Street and came across The Sandbar and decided to try it out, and boy am I glad we did! The place was busy because of the Seahawks game, but we found a spot at the bar. Heather was our bartender/server and she was so great. She was so personable, and even though she seemed busy she always checked in to make sure we were doing good. At one point she even made a little too much of a margarita and gave us a little taster which was so nice! We shared the Gouda Mac with steak and it was 10/10. I had a couple Cherry Blossom Manhattans and they were so good too! We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in town. read more

Didn't want bar food on a Tuesday night but there we were at the Sandbar. Really nice place! Not too loud and staff was super nice. Ordered fish tacos and expected the usual but was pleasantly surprised! The fish portion was generous, cabbage fresh, verde sauce was excellent!! Perfect bite / spicy and good taste. The hamburger my wife got liked great too! Big patty, nice char and fries were skinny and wimpy looking but were super tasty and were actually great! The fry sauce was awesome! Didn't get to try any drinks (bring your ID they ID everyone!!!) definitely coming back to try a flight of whisky. Coming back again for sure. We waited to eat until when 1 of the 4 meals was finally served. Our food was cold upon eating and completely lacked flavor. My partner order the Orange chicken and it was hard/dry, the texture of dried smoked salmon. My mother and I ordered the Fish Tacos and it lacked flavor, had to ask for extra sauce to stomach the meal. Do not recommend eating from the Sandbar, maybe the food carts are better. The establishment stated "open at 12" but we were later told by our waiter that the kitchen refused to start cooking until 12:30, hence our 1hr long wait for food. read more

We've tried this place 3 times out of fairness. Last night was the last time for sure. Each time we were served a wrong drink order right out of the gate. Took forever by the way. Ordering off the menu looked and sounded good. Looks aren't everything. What you do get is bottled cheap mixers and salsa from a jar. Over priced deep fry and amateur grill work does not a make me feel like this is a kitchen of any standards. I think it's more of a drinking bar with an incompetent inexperienced bar staff. One of the nicest establishments in the area, it was modern and clean. The reason I give e it a 4 out of 5 because, there were fruit flies everywhere. The resturant was really busy so I understand service was a little slow and the bar area didn't get cleaned in time we sat down. The bartender Kyle was great. He seemed to know what was going on and did his best to serve us well. We originally came in for drinks only, but it smelled good and it was a sushi night so I tried the salmon belly which was great. This is a newly opened business in Long Beach, WA and it was amazing. We came on a Sunday, on sushi nights and easily this is the best sushi on the peninsula. This restaurant was placed in a great area for friends having a good time and families wanting a spot to eat. It is located right next to the arcade and connects on the inside as well. There is bar seating and you choose where you want to sit. In the evening, it does get very busy, so at times there has been minimal seating available, for those with bigger families. On the outside, there are also food trucks available as well that are actively being promoted on the inside. The service was excellent here and Sandbar is an excellent new addition to the Peninsula that I recommend you try out. read more

Stopped in for drinks and a snack on a summer Sunday. The venue is pretty cool -- comfy and modern. They have a menu and allow food from the food court which is a pretty cool idea. We sat at the bar and were greeted, felt welcome. Had drinks and a sashimi plate. Service was pretty efficient. The bartenders are a little too chatty about what's going on in the bar and esp with their thoughts on other customers -- was a little uncomfortable at times. Drinks were solid though that was a really sweet Pinot Gris haha. Sashimi plate was small as expected for $13 and verrry pretty -- but the flavor fell a little flat but that may be just me -- I like more citrus with my sashimi. Fish was fresh and tasty. read more

You CAN believe the hype! Normally, I go into new restaurants on the peninsula with a heavy dose of skepticism. Almost every time a new restaurant surfaces, we get a lot of hype, excitement and FB posts like, "Man, this is going to be the greatest restaurant EVER!' It gets old. But not the Sandbar! It's legit. My wife and I headed in yesterday with a good friend. We decide to try a number of items. My wife ordered the Couscous and Carrot Salad, and the Black Garlic Beef Skewers with dirty rice. She was absolutely blown away! My buddy and I decided to share the half order of Dungeness Crab with some dirty rice, along with two Sushi Rolls - the Skinny Salmon and the PNW Dungeness Crab. The Dungeness Crab entree was, well, crab - how can you go wrong? But they serve it with this awesome Wasabi Honey Mustard and Ponzu sauce. They could bottle that stuff! The sushi was excellent. Please understand that they only have the Sushi Night menu on Fridays and Saturdays, though. They have a decent selection of local beers and ciders, featuring North Jetty and Ilwaco Cider Company. I would have liked to see Cavatica Stout, but I ordered the Rum Barrel cocktail, which was pretty good. James ordered the Cherry Blossom Manhattan, which I thought was better. The food was so good that we decided to order another sushi roll - the Albacore Truffle Roll. It was tasty, but I think the Skinny Salmon Roll was our favorite. We ordered the Mushroom dessert, which is a chocolate pudding and meringue. It was interesting, but just wasn't as good as our entrees. I think the only item that we were dissatisfied with was the dirty rice. All three of us were expecting a more 'dry' rice with some form of pork, beef or chicken. If there were any pieces of meat in that rice at all, we didn't detect it. But that wasn't enough to knock off a star on Yelp! The Sandbar is a 5-star experience, and has some great items, and we can't wait to go back and try a few more entrees. I'm really hoping that the Sandbar will achieve a level of quality and consistency that many businesses on the peninsula never reach. read more
