There was plenty of room for the tables and chairs they provided. The hall is already wired for your DJ of choice to use the house sound system from a balcony area that overlooks the space. The bar was a good size with a large screen TV. Three very clean bathrooms in the foyer area. We made use of the ice machine and refrigerator for your sodas and waters. The price was very reasonable for this large rental space. My only warning would be to make note of the late night sound restrictions if you're going to use a DJ and play music throughout your event. The VUE is a beautiful, modern-contemporary venue space that sits on a golf course. A funky-shaped…read morebuilding with large glass windows. They have a restaurant, but can be booked for weddings and special events. I had the pleasure of visiting the VUE for a wedding. The wedding was beautiful and since there were a lot of vendors and people involved, this review will be based on the VUE's dining space, food, and experience. The space was spectacular--it was like sitting in a glass box in the best way. The chairs on the other hand felt very hard and unstable. During cocktail hour, it was open bar, passed around hors d'oeuvres, a large charcuterie spread, and buffet-styled apps. There was an overwhelming variety from stuffed breads, meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, penne alla vodka, mini lobster rolls, and so much more! My favorite was the mac & cheese. Before dinner began, the staff went around to confirm everyone's dishes since it was a plated dinner. There were 4 options: beef, fish, chicken, and a vegetarian (cauliflower steak) dish. The staff took the time to take down guests' preferences on how they wanted their steaks cooked and alert the kitchen with a food restrictions or allergies. This did slow down the time for dinner, but I was surprised the staff did that for a large wedding. I picked the vegetarian dish, a cauliflower steak that was seasoned with turmeric, other Indian spices, and a cream sauce. It was a little try and wished there was more sauce. It was served with a delicious cooked spinach and mashed potatoes. Everyone at our table cleaned their plates--Chicken Francese and Filet Mignon. We left the wedding very full and satisfied.

It's a huge 80,000 square foot building in the heart of downtown Naugatuck. I read that the building was formerly known as the General DataComm building, and the town bought it for $2 million in 2013. We visited today to see the Made in CT Expo. Other events held there include a Horrorfest, Arts and Crafts Fairs, and Christmas showcases. It's a big open "commercial looking" space that has the look of a parking garage. It looked big enough to hold 500 vendor booths. Lots of VCT floor tiles, floor-to-ceiling columns, open ceilings with hanging fluorescent lights and exposed mechanicals. It has restrooms, dining booths, and tons of free parking.

The entrance and lane in front of the building are paved and there is room to drop off a stroller or wheelchair etc without having to navigate the gravel lot. It all started with Jennifer Newman, the event planner. She was truly exceptional. We felt she was not only vested in her venue, but also vested in our lives. We were not members of the club, but we never felt like we were outsiders. The NHCC is elegant and timeless, the grounds are meticulously maintained and perfect for photos. Jennifer went out of her way to make sure our daughter had the wedding of her dreams. Cocktail hour was outside on the covered patio overlooking the golf course, dinner was in the banquet room followed by dancing in a completely separate room. At first I did not like the idea of having dancing in another room because I didn't think it would flow well, but I was completely wrong. We didn't feel like we were in a fishbowl. Guests were able to move from room to room and have a quiet place to mingle and talk while others danced the night away. Oh, and did I mention the food?? Exceptional in every way. We received many compliments regarding the food and the timely manner in which it was served. Thank you for all your help, Jennifer Newman. We are truly blessed to have had the fortune of meeting you and your amazing staff.

Lee Jackson, manager, was attentive, responsive, and thoughtful through the planning process, rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. Like the good event manager he is, he was proactive, anticipating concerns in advance--he even arranged for my nieces and nephews to have a space of their own to play during the reception. The space itself is a beautiful throwback to Frank Lloyd Wright's take on modernism. The staff was responsive to the needs of our guests, and the food was excellent--more than one person commented that it didn't taste like "wedding food." The breakfast had real plates and glassware but was lacking in food choices - a bit surprising for a RI property. The price was typical and not as expensive as other properties on a holiday weekend.

Apparently he was annoyed because I didn't respond to a text message in the Marriott app which doesn't always trigger a notification on my phone. I really didn't care for this reaction as long as I got a clean room and got a later checkout time. Needless to say this was the first time I was given a flat no when requesting a later checkout. Usually if there is high volume or conflict there is some negotiation and that is fine but this time it seemed like a continuation of the bad attitude. Strangely enough it seemed approved in the app later which is most likely to make it look like I received my benefit to corporate but in reality not. The next day my key didn't work to get into my room earlier than usual. Skip visiting if you have status.

Our favorite was a spirited game of one v one laser tag that took place in Japan...although my son beat me all 3 rounds! The staff was wonderful at assisting us when we had questions and ensuring we were we having a great time (we definitely did!) The building itself is an amazing renovation of an old bank. Great party space. Thrilled this is part of Seymour Main Street! We plan to be back with more of my son's friends. He even shared that it would be a great place for his 12th Birthday!
