We went there for the first time, and it was excellent. The sandwiches had plenty of meat on them and the sourdough rolls were great.

The Sandwich Spot located on Windmill at Pecos in the Vons shopping center. Stopped in today as they had an impromptu car show for Labor Day from 11-3. Figured I'd take the Oldsmobile down there for a bit and grab lunch. We met the owner who was very friendly and personable. And he also drives a sweet 57 Chevy. We ordered a #2, Tue Golden Knight to split for lunch as I'm not a big lunch eater generally speaking. The sandwich was ordered with everything on it and their house specialty bread. The sandwich is made to order of course and when it came to the table, it was absolutely delish. A lot of flavor and the bread was fantastic. Super fresh ingredients and just overall a great sandwich. We sat down and ate and then went out to enjoy the old cars in the lot. The interior of the Sandwich Spot is a cool vibe, like stepping back into an old 50's diner. Complete with old music from the 50's. The establishment is clean and the food is excellent: and the fact that the owner is an old car guy like me, makes it all the better. If you're looking for a great sandwich for lunch or dinner, then stop in and give this joint a try. I promise, you won't have regrets or buyers remorse when you're finished. And if you follow their socials, you will see they do cruise ins all the time. So you can go see some cool old cars if you're into that sorta thing. read more

I'm not super convinced with the "the." I would go with more of an "a." The Sandwich Spot is a lesser-known chain originally from Sacramento and with a lot of California presence. This appears to be the only one in the Vegas area for now, so I'm glad it's pretty close to Henderson. My friend wanted a "light" bite for dinner and I found them and their solid Yelp rating, so off we went. I was intrigued by the presence of cream cheese in some of their menu items, and I ended up selecting the #6 Papa G ($13.99), a composition of hot roast beef, bomb sauce (supposedly jalapeño ranch), and cream cheese. They also have free ingredients to add to all sandwiches, and I went with mayo, mustard, secret sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. Oddly enough, the one item I excluded, banana peppers, could have really helped since items such as cream cheese and mayo really added a level of heavy blandness in terms of flavor, while the bomb sauce, pickles, and mustard were not enough alone or together to cut through that. My friend opted for #19 The Maryann ($14.49), which is hot turkey, prosciutto, avocado, and Swiss. Perhaps it was a bit lighter than mine, but aside from some of the prosciutto popping through, I also didn't get any huge bursts of intensity as he also omitted banana peppers from the "everything" customizations. And in both cases, we had Dutch crunch bread, which somehow felt too bready, maybe even conveying wet breadiness in the middle. It really fatigued my palate in the latter half of my meal. Complimentary cups for water are available, and the employees all seemed nice. I can't recall whether music was on, which is fine I guess. The decor is a lot of stuff which seemed important to whatever family runs the joint, while the setting sun really streamed through the west-facing windows and made the evening meal less than fully comfortable. I would consider returning to The Sandwich Spot to try some different combinations of ingredients (especially bread), and hopefully make it a lunch to avoid the bright sun. It doesn't feel destination-worthy though, just a good spot for people nearby. read more

I'm originally from the Bay Area, where Dutch crunch is everywhere, so finding a place that has it was exciting. First, I have to say the atmosphere was really nice, and the workers were amazing. Since it was my first time, they took the time to explain everything, which I really appreciated. He said he would give us his sandwich a four out of five. I got the Maryann. I was super disappointed. I took a bite and thought it was dry. Then I realized that they didn't put avocado in my sandwich like they were supposed to. I had to add my own mayo so it wasn't so dry. Also, not the meatiest sandwich I've ever had. Since it was my first time, one of the employees walked me through the popular options, which I really appreciated. While waiting, they mentioned that the bread is imported from San Francisco twice a week, which adds to the appeal, especially knowing how popular this chain is in California. The Hellkat (5/5): Packed with pastrami and bacon, a combo that surprisingly worked really well together. The cream cheese added a rich, smooth element that balanced the saltiness of the meats, and the Bomb Sauce tied everything together with extra moisture and flavor without being overly spicy. We loaded it with most of the complimentary toppings, which added even more texture and depth in every bite. Overall, the sandwich does lean on the pricier side at around $14.49 before tax and tip, but the generous portions and excellent customer service made it feel worth it. This place was really busy with online orders but they still had great service! I tried a Rockin Reuben (sorry I don't have a picture, I was to excited that I ate it so quickly! lol). I got here pretty much as it opened up on a Friday morning and I'm sure I was the first customer. The ovens were still heating up so I had time to talk to one of the staff, though I'm not sure if he was the owner or not, either way, he was a very nice guy.. The inside of the restaurant is adorned in car and motorcycle memorabilia which gives it a pretty cool spin and definitely gives you something to look at while you're eating or waiting for your sandwich to be made. I was getting my order to go and got the high roller and the merc, both on Dutch crunch bread, with everything on them. I also got a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad was extremely creamy, rich, and delicious and even though I thought it was quite a small amount by my standards, I really only ate half of it because of how rich it was. I was told the high roller was very tasty and my sandwich, the merc, also hit the spot. I never usually get a sandwich with cranberries on it, but this was one of the first that I've seen where it wasn't a rip-off of the Bobbie from Capriotti's. It added just a little bit of sweetness and tartness to the sandwich which paired well with the marinated chicken and garlic olive oil sauce. With this spot being just a few miles away from me, I'll definitely be coming back here to try many more of their sandwiches, and so should you. read more

Okay so I finally tried The Sandwich Spot after seeing a post in my Facebook foodies group from Brad Kushner and I HAVE to leave a review because it was seriously so good. What first caught my attention was that they had Dutch crunch bread because I've been wanting to try it forever, and I also kept hearing how good their sourdough was. The funny part is after I saw the picture that Brad posted, I was pregnant-craving obsessed and needed THAT exact sandwich My husband went in and literally showed the owner a picture of the sandwich, and they were both trying to figure out which sandwich it was or if it was some custom order. The owner was AMAZING. Seriously one of the sweetest people ever. He helped us figure out what sandwich I wanted, talked with us the whole time about growing up in San Francisco, and was just incredibly welcoming and kind. He even gave my son a little toy car which was so cute. So not only was the food incredible, but the service honestly made the experience even better. You can tell they genuinely care about people. My husband and I loved everything we got and it was so good that we've already gone back like four times since our first visit Definitely go try them if you haven't already. It's really all about the food! We heard about this small spot close by and came in for lunch. Okay look it's not cheap and it's not real fast. That's okay. If you are down to wait and pay for quality then try them out! Seriously you get what you pay for !!!! First I recommend the Dutch Crust Roll, how do they do that? The sides are made in house for real but are big enough to share so try them both! Then the sandwich only comes in one size, and it doesn't look that big. But you get mound of meat piled into a really great fresh bun and the toppings are garden fresh! It was all I could do to finish it! The kids at the counter are great, professional and happy to help you! Attitude stems from management and they have a great attitude! They should do well but need to get the word out! We are ALWAYS on the hunt for a good sandwich spot. A friend recommended The Sandwich Spot, so off to Henderson we went. I cannot say enough about this place. We received a warm welcome when arriving. The interior is decorated in a classic hotrod theme, and they have fun little games to play on each of the tables while you wait for your food. They have a big menu posted on the wall and paper menus for those of us who's vision isn't what it used to be. They have 27 specialty sandwiches on the menu and after trying one I want to go back and try them ALL! I had never heard of Dutch crunch bread but after having it for my sandwich I am 100% sold on it. This place gets fresh sourdough and Dutch crunch rolls flew in from San Francisco twice a week. The Dutch crunch and sourdough rolls come par baked and The Sandwich Spot finish bakes each roll to order. Each sandwich is served on a hot, freshly baked roll. If you've never had a sandwich prepared this way I highly recommend you try it. They also have several other bread options but are not fresh baked. The young adults at the counter were great, professional and happy to help you! They even read our orders back to us to make sure they were correct. That is always a nice touch. I ordered the R.C. Lugnut with all the toppings they offer except the Special Sauce which I now hear is the bomb! I will get it next time. I generally never eat a whole sandwich, but I did this time! My husband ordered The 702 on Sourdough and it was another knock it out of the park sandwich! Both sandwiches were well balanced in taste and had the perfect amount of meat. Rumor has it that they are looking for a location on the west side of town in the Red Rock area. If you want an awesome sandwich, make sure you go check out this owner operated business. It might just be the best I've had, that dutch crunch is soft and perfectly crunchy makes me realize I've never had real dutch crunch before! And the combo of the balsamic glaze and their secret sauce Is like no other and an absolute dream! On top of the perfect sandwich they had just pulled fresh baked chocolate chip cookies out the oven that filled the restaurant with that amazing smell and they too were perfect. These days it's hit or miss when it comes to customer service, especially with the younger folks. Soon as I walked in to this nice little sandwich spot, I was greeted by Devon. He was very outgoing and welcoming. He was joined by his pal Makayla (sorry if I spelled it wrong). She joined in immediately and was very helpful with details and information on the sandwiches. These two were a fantastic combo and I would be delighted if they worked for me! Lol. The owners should be proud. The sandwiches are awesome. I'm a vegetarian, I always get the Lake Las Vegas. The combination of fresh veggies is great, I love that it has sprouts. It definitely needs the Secret Sauce, you need to be sure to ask for it these days as they changed up the toppings process a little. I cannot imagine ordering it without the Dutch Crunch Roll. As long as the meats and veggies are of reasonable quality, it's the bread that sets a sandwich ship aside, and The Sandwich Spot has got you. My hubby and I stopped for a sandwich with zero expectations and were blown away in the best possible manner! Absolutely the freshest tastiest sandwiches we've ever had. Hubby had the Rockin' Reuben on the Dutch Crunch roll - phenomenal crackled bread with moist pastrami and kraut, and he added onions for a little extra kick. I had the Lake Las Vegas (a cream cheese & veggie sandwich) with a 1/2 order of turkey on it - the sprouts and cucumbers were so fresh and crunchy; the tomato & avocado were perfectly ripe; the chopped turkey was delicious; and the sourdough roll was somehow fluffy and light - spot on for a 100* degree day of errand running. The shop is decorated in car memorabilia with car TV playing; the floors and tables spotlessly shiny clean with games to play while eating or waiting for your order; and the owner clearly takes pride in their business. For all the parents of young ones - the bathroom (a single room) is fantastic, with a chair and bench for little ones to sit on while everyone takes their turn washing hands before lunch. Mine also on the Dutch Crunch roll was the (#25's) Taildragger with Marinated Chicken, Pesto, Provolone (I subbed for Swiss) and both sandwiches can come with Mayo, mustard, Secret Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Onions and Peppers. You're choice! You can also make it a meal with chips and a drink! It's pretty good, but a bit expensive for just a sandwich ranging from $12.99-$14.49. So I was craving a sandwich and this was the first place that came up. I was surprised I hadn't tried it yet considering how close it was. To start off, one of the things I love about this place was that they carry the Dutch crunch bread, which enhances the sandwich experience. I also got the potato salad which was also creamy and well seasoned with a little kick. The potatoes in it were fork tender, which made it craveable. I ordered to go so I didn't experience service as much but my food was prepared quickly and expertly with a tight double wrap on my sandwich. Everything we tried at this place was great. We tried The Chadillac, The Tail Dragger, and the Golden Knight. All the ingredients on the sandwiches were high quality, and we loved all 3 of them. Jan and I have been enjoying The Sandwich Spot since its opening day. We drive past several sandwich shops to get to The Sandwich Spot. My wife's favorite is the #2 Golden Knight, and my favorite is the #23 Mobster with garlic oil. However, yesterday I ventured up to the #22 Rockin' Reuban and boy was I amazed. The amount of meat and sauerkraut was awesome. It's always a pleasure to go in and see Gary or Janice and talk with them while our sandwiches are being created. If you haven't been there yet....
