Cold case that holds cheeses and gelato

Tried Underhyped Place Sunday? TUPS Sandwiches, which apparently stands for "The Ultimate Pastas & Sandwiches" Sandwiches, is a local spot that seems to have made various top Yelp lists in recent years. I suppose it's time to get out and try more sandwiches now that my old local fave is officially dead and gone, and this was a good start. My friend was treating me to lunch and decided that wanted a sandwich, so TUPS came to mind as somewhere I'd been meaning to try for a while. It's not far from Henderson where we live, and it shares a sprawling plaza with a few other eateries and several non-food businesses. The inside is small, but they were still pretty quiet on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered at the counter and split two sandwiches. The #2 Lorenzo Pesto Chicken ($14.15) was somewhere between understated and balanced, with everything just really contributing hints of flavor: chicken, pesto, sundried tomato, provolone, and some veggies. The bread roll was soft and the chicken breast chunks were tender, so the whole thing ate super easily. The #11 Reuben ($14.15) was nice too. The pastrami isn't piled super high but is portioned well enough that you can't miss that you're eating pastrami. The marble rye, cheese, and thousand island are as expected. Maybe a tad bit more sauerkraut would've been good, but it's a prototypical pastrami Reuben. The gelato is fine, and they'll serve it after your sandwich if you're dining in. At least it eats much more like gelato than ice cream in how much air content (overrun) there is. They only had two flavors, so we tried one scoop of each. I mostly ate the coffee chip, which was like a mocha and was pretty intense. The stabilizer may have made the texture not so ideally creamy, but it worked. The spumoni was decent, but the pistachio component leaned more into almond and artificial green color than I've come to appreciate, and the chocolate component was more of a syrup added instead of a separate gelato flavor portion. I saw options for brewed tea and fresh lemonade, but they provided free cups of water (with ice, as requested) so I decided to save some money. Various prepackaged drinks are also available; I didn't see anything resembling a soda fountain. TUPS is a very good but not amazing deli sandwich spot with a decent dessert option. I wouldn't travel very far for it, but maybe I'll keep it in mind for lunch when I'm more on the middle / northwest area of Henderson.

Very good sandwiches. Cute little deli with a nice clean atmosphere. Respect to family own businesses and they deserve more recognition. Service was quick and friendly. Thanks again guys.

If you're craving really good sub style sandwiches, be sure to come here! So delicious! The staff is kind and welcoming! It's a small place with a few tables. I ordered the spicy Italian and I added garlic sauce. I don't know what it is but it sure made the sandwich delicious! My husband had the rich boy, and that was also super delicious! We will come back and try more for sure!

The sandwiches were both fine. I ordered a cold tuna on rye and my companion ordered a Philly Cheesesteak. My order was wrong as it came on white, but not a big deal. The tuna was a little on bland side, but the lettuce, tomato, and onion were very fresh. The man who took our order was not what I'd call friendly, but not rude by any means either. Just a serious fellow. There was very limited seating inside. Plus, the temperature was way too warm so we sat outside on the sidewalk next to the parking lot. The weather was nice so it was fine being there. When we were about to leave, a car pulled into spot next to where we were seated and left the engine running. We immediated left so we didn't have to breathe in the fumes. I usually agree with Yelp ratings but my experience there didn't warrant as high a rating. If I would ever go back, I'd probably only take it to-go.

    Deviled egg potato salad

OMG. I was exhausted from the week and sat in the car for 10 minutes before I went in. Also preparing myself because, when you are hungry, your vision can be blurred, lol. The yelp review says the Italian spicy Italian or the spicy pastrami. I went for the spicy Italian and added bacon. . I am a potato salad girl and I love deviled eggs that which is why I selected the side item I did and I need a reprieve from my Wendy's drink the other day so I'm hoping, hoping this one is OK. So filling, tasty, so fresh, I think they forgot the bacon but the sandwich was wonderful, the team was friendly, pleasant and the line moved right along. I could envision being on the streets ox NY, NJ or Sicily. Quaint and clean. The potato salad had a little more mustard than I'm use to but that didn't stop me from eating it. I saved half for my husband

Took a study break and made the trip down to TUPS Sandwiches for lunch. I had noticed this place when I went to a pizza joint in the same complex a few months ago and since I like sandwiches, mostly submarine sandwiches, I was interested in trying them out. According to their sandwich board (no pun intended), this place was listed at #11 on Yelp's list of top places to eat here in town back in 2020. There is a reason for this - they have some totally delicious sandwiches and I want to come back here again to try out their other options. It's a small restaurant with very limited seating, so just be prepared to take your order to go if all tables inside are taken. I was going to take it back with me anyway because I needed to get back to studying. After being greeted by the gentleman at the front counter, I immediately knew what I wanted when I laid my eyes on the menu. Their cold tuna sandwich (listed at #26 on their menu) with everything on it, because I LOVE tuna sandwiches with all my heart. I got this in an 8" sub because I didn't want anything too large, since I get too full easily haha. I also got myself a soda since it's still boiling hot at the end of August. The tuna sandwich consisted of the following - tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and mayo and I chose white bread as my bread selection. This was a really good sandwich and I ended up finishing the entire thing all by myself. And though I usually don't drink soda all that much these days, both with sugar and no sugar, it hit the spot along with this sandwich. To me, TUPS is kind of like Capriotti's, but better. I'll be back here again if I'm looking for some good quality sandwiches for lunch.

    Pastrami Sandwich

Delicious sandwiches! We got the #13 Spicy Italian Melt and #18 Pastrami. I was stuck between the Spicy Italian, Spicy Skyler, and Mr. T. They recommended the Italian. Their oven was not working today, so we just took them home and popped them in the airfryer. We both ate half of our sandwiches and saved the other half for dinner. You can taste the quality in the ingredients. It's definitely worth paying a little more for the quality rather than going to a chain sandwich shop. Since half of the sandwich was pretty filling on its own, I think the price is justified because we got two meals out of one sandwich. The shop itself is small and cozy. It was our first time here and we're glad to have found a great sandwich spot near us. We will definitely be back to try the Mr. T, Spicy Skyler, Philly Cheesesteak, and others!

Turkey Sandwich. Combo comes with drink (ice tea) and chips or deli side. Fresh!
    Jessica W.

Food: turkey with tomato and lettuce on sliced toasted whole grain bread, philly cheesesteak. They were out of tuna and I was starving so I opted to eat turkey. Next time I will try one of their veggie options. Everything tasted fresh. Service: it's a tiny shop and they get slammed at peak times so be prepared to wait. Really nice guys that work here. Ambiance: two tables of 4 and one table for 2. Most take it to go.

Great pastrami sandwich which was big enough to share. Marbled Rye Bread was toasted perfectly. I would make the drive to return here again.

Then, the second visit, we ordered the sugar-free chocolate and banana toffee. That was also a very good combination. Their flavors are delicious. And in case you were wondering, one cup of gelato is more than enough to share amongst 2 people.

The matcha parfait was good with a nice creamy texture and flavoring. However, I have one complaint. When coming with two others where we are lactose sensitive and with one having an allergy to oats, they wanted to try the matcha latte's and we asked if they can make with almond milk . The female worker said they don't have almond milk and only do oat or whole milk which was odd, and I asked again to confirm and was told no. They ended up having to do whole milk despite being lactose intolerant and was bothered. I look through here from comments by the owner saying that they CAN substitute with almond milk, which is confusing and a little annoying that we were told they don't substitute almond milk and was never told a reason why. That's one complaint for those who might be allergic to oat milk or are lactose sensitive: There is barely any option to accommodate and for that I give three stars. I probably would not come back again nor recommend because of the lack of accommodation for those who cannot have oat/almond milk. However despite that it is good to try once.
