The original sunrise cafe located on S Eastern by 215. There is a private parking lot with a lot of spaces as there are many businesses. The interior is clean and the staff is always delightful. Came in today for a quick bite before flying to Greece. Ordered up an Eggs Benedict on Texas toast and a black cherry chocolate coffee. The eggs were cooked perfectly with a delicious runny yolk. The potato's were crisp and delicious and the coffee was a pleasant surprise with its flavor profile. The eggs Benedict comes on Texas toast, a bagel, or a Kaiser roll. I chose Texas toast. The Original sunrise cafe is always spotless clean and impeccably kept (they were polishing and cleaning the chairs while we were there.) This is a great Christian family owned business. Big big big fan of Sunrise Café and all the lovely friends and faces that work here and make it feel like home. I don't think there is one bad thing on the menu..it has a plethora of sweet breakfast treats, savory breakfast items and even a whole selection of lunch staples - like sandwiches, salads, wraps and burgers. If you are ever stumped on what to order, just take a look around the walls inside and see all the amazing photos of their dishes hung up for display. Some of my favorites over the years are the S.O.B burger (pretzel bun, tasty sauce, crispy jalapeno bacon, yum!), the snow caps (such a fun take on eating a traditional bagel - lightly dusted with powdered sugar on top), a grilled blueberry muffin (ever had a blueberry muffin melt in your mouth? well order this and then you can say yes), the crunchberry French toast (sweet and filling, mainly to share with a friend or few) and the Tijuana turkey (but as a wrap!). Aside from those, another standout item - if you're a benedict fan - is the brisket burnt ends benedict. It is perfect and every bite makes you love it even more. If you're an OC and been visiting Sunrise for some time, they've been offering a featured menu of dishes they used to carry way back in the day for all your flavorful memories. For our most recent brunch visit, we decided it was an omelette day! I ordered a build your own omelette and my lunchmates got a Greek Omelette and the Turkey Taco Omelette. All were so tasty and fresh and with forkfuls of potatoes in between each bite, they really hit the spot. They have outdoor seating if you'd like to enjoy the weather and bring a furry friend with you (and water bowls for them too!), indoor seating at tables and a handful of higher chairs at a small breakfast bar. Keep in mind, though there is a decent sized interior for dining, most tables are set to probably seat groups of 4-6 though they may be able to accommodate larger parties. They are open every day of the week, with exception of some holidays, usually from 7:30a to about 2:00p and usually very packed on the weekends. With over 1.5k reviews on google and thousands on Yelp just under five stars, Sunrise has been around and in town for the past 20+ years for many good reasons. If you haven't visited Sunrise, met Angie and Andrew or any of the other lovely faces like Troy, Kelli, Carlos, Matt, and all the others, you absolutely need to. We come here every once in a while for breakfast. The service is great and the food is solid. My husband always gets the Jacob's Slammin platter which comes with one of each meat, 2 eggs, potatoes or orange slices, a bagel and pancakes. They do up charge if you get specialty pancakes. These ones weren't really worth it. I got the chicken chipotle wrap and was surprised at how good it was. I was a big fan and would definitely get it again. Definitely enjoyed dining here for the first time and definitely not our last! Our amazing server Nancy recommended what I believe was the spare rib benedict listed in the specials and I was torn between an omelette, Tuna melt, and ended with the chilaquiles! Both were so delicious and we had so much food we at least got to take it home. I was impressed with their hospitality, and I loved how some of the names of their dishes remind you of movie titles, what a nice touch. We randomly ended up back at Sunrise Cafe after not going for over 10+ years... and wow it brought back all the feels. My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop in, and I'm SO glad we did. The staff is honestly the sweetest -- you can tell they genuinely care. They were talking with customers like family, and we even watched them sing Happy Birthday to a lady today which was the cutest thing ever The food? This was my third time to the Original Sunrise Cafe, and all three times were off the chain. From the decor, to the friendliness of the staff, to the quality of the food, this place hits on all cylinders! If you're planning on getting there on the weekends I would suggest getting there early, as this place is very popular... And with good reason! The good news is they have plenty of seating outside, as well as a very nice waiting area in case you do have to wait. Inside, the place has a warm and cozy welcoming atmosphere. Honestly, it reminds me of a small hometown Cafe that is next level. The decor is contemporary, bright, cheery and airy. With very cute wall decor. The staff there has been stellar from the first time we went there. Warm, welcoming, great suggestions, and just overall a joy to be with. We have had Alex as a server multiple times, and this guy is awesome! He must have graduated top of his class in waiter school, because he was funny, friendly, not overbearing, and constantly checking on our table. But the food is the real star! I had the OG breakfast sandwich with extra bacon and it was absolutely everything I would want and more! The hash browns on the side were cooked perfectly. Crispie on top soft in the middle, you really can't go wrong. It was such a good meal, and I always enjoy going there. Plus I have to say, they have some of the best merchandise. The t-shirts have very cute designs, and it would be stuff you would want to wear, not just like a souvenir while you were traveling. Bottom line? This is a must-go breakfast spot. This place is so good! I wanted to try everything. I came here after a workout so we were pretty hungry we got seated right away. The waiter was attentive and once we started ordering the food came out pretty fast and it was fresh. You can see the steam from the heat of the food. I made my own veggie omelette! Omg soo bomb. With the proliferation of breakfast/lunch restaurants a bit closer to my home, it has been quite a while since I made it back to The Original Sunrise Cafe. We met friends for brunch midweek - the place was packed at 11 AM. OSC will win no awards for decorating. About 20 tables inside, another half dozen seats at the bar, and a few more outside. Jade, our server, was at our table with a smile and a warm welcome almost as soon as we sat down. Service remained excellent despite the crowd. Both my wife and I opted for the make your own omelet with a side of potatoes and an everything bagel ($16). The omelet is HUGE and loaded with the goodies we requested packed inside (except for the avocado which was sliced on top). Absolutely delish!!! And way more than we could finish at one sitting - breakfast for tomorrow! There is a reason the OSC has had staying power despite the number of newer competing restaurants in the area. We were in Las Vegas to visit family. We had a large group, so we called ahead and told them we had 12 people. No problem. No, there were 13. No problem. Oops, here comes another one. Now there were 14. No problem. Everyone on the staff was very accommodating. There were seven teenagers, and our waitress was so patient and attentive. She took everyone's order, and amazingly enough, the food was all brought out together. There were no errors. Everyone loved their food. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. Always happy to be able to go dine at The Original Sunrise Cafe. This family owned and operated restaurant never disappoints in my book. As soon as you walk in you're welcomed in unless you have to wait to check in for seating as this place can be humming with an eager to dine crowd. There's t-shirts available for purchase, specialty sodas and retro-candies too. It's hard for me to choose new items to try when I absolutely love my old standby favorites like the garden of eden omelette or the about thyme plate. They will modify dishes as much as able to accommodate food allergies. They have specialty bacon choices on the menu and the newest one didn't disappoint. Thicker slabs of a "battle borne bacon" seasoned with espresso, Cajun seasoning, brown sugar and honey with syrup to either dip or pour on to the slices. Reminded me of a good pork belly slice. My pickier eater didn't detect the espresso and helped me finish it up! Nice selection of brewed tea, coffee and specialty brewed coffee flavors. The most recent flavor I tried was churro. They do have a dairy alternative oat milk available upon request. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant! We have family that can't wait to go eat here whenever they visit due to the fantastic food quality, choices offered and fair price. Not only that service is incomparable! If you're local and go often enough they really remember you and your favorite choices or food modifications. What a great find! We are visiting from out of town and found this place. Then came back again because it was so good! We met the owner, Andrew. He is super cool and spent time sharing his story. I recommend asking his back story! Our waitress, Gracie was awesome! She was so friendly and attentive. You can tell she is a kind and good person just by meeting her. If we come again I'll ask to sit in her section! The food was amazing. We both had the classic breakfast. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and the potatoes are incredible! I'm not gonna lie. We took some home. Our server was amazing. Poor guy kept coming by to check to see if we were ready to order. I was having a day so I was sharing with my hubby and it took us a long time to actually read the menu but after that we de use what to share pretty quick. Great service. I love this place. Everyone is so friendly and warm here. The servers are no-nonsense characters and genuinely care about the customers. There used to be a really cute young dude who was a cashier, but he's gone or maybe he doesn't work Tuesdays. He had 70s style hair and that made me sentimental. I also love the food. But that's the only good thing about my experience. I ordered the cajun rib eye eggs benedict and it was horrible, not to mention ruin the hash browns were brent and disgusting. We also ordered the cinnamon and granola french toast, it looked amazing..but looks can fool you. Not a once of flavor. So disappointed. The waitress was amazing and caring and offered to make me something else, but i was so over it. They couldn't even bring my son regular milk, i had to walk up and ask them for it. (the served him chocolate milk.) The waitress and manager said they would take care of me, and only took off three dollars off the bill. I would never return to this cafe again. read more
