    Margherita, Plain

We stumbled upon this place when hunger struck at Monmouth Racetrack and I'm glad we stopped in! It's a quaint place with indoor and outdoor seating options. There were plenty of slice options available and everything looked fresh. We pointed out the 4 slices we wanted, waited a few minutes for them to be heated, and sat at the front window area on bar style seats. We picked pepperoni, margarita, upside down hot honey pepperoni, and plain (I think ). I really liked the hot honey pepperoni, but it wasn't quite as spicy as I had hoped a bit messy. The other 3 slices were quite good too! All the employees we dealt with were pleasant and quick to tend to us. Next time we are in the are, we will be sure to stop back and try some more slices!

This very -very casual pizza in Oceanport Place does not disappoint. They do not take reservations and we went for the first time on a friend's recommendation. They had 3 indoor tables and some picnic tables outside and parking was easy. We ordered a famous New Jersey type of pizza "Trentonian" which I never heard of before - my dinner partners told me it was a Jersey thing ( NY'er here) and was curious to try it. We also added garlic and pepperoni for my group. We also tried the side of meatballs (3) which came with some bread. The food was delicious and as other yelpers said the crust was well done ( I do not like well done on the bottom usually ) it wasn't too well done for us. We will be back again. Enjoy.

After checking reviews, we decided to hit The Sauce. This is clearly a local favorite as people were in and out and being warmly greeted by the staff. They have a few tables inside and a few outdoor tables. They have bottled Pepsi products and we opted to try their popular pizzas. The Gemini and The Jersey Devil. One pie came out a lot faster than the other with no explanation. But (other than the sauce being thinner than I would like), both pies were excellent. Definitely a good spot.

I stopped on my way home from a long day at work, ordered a few things but got home and started with the wings and realized they weren't cooked all the way.

i've seen this place from the pizza reviews and wanted to try it. After a day at the beach, we stopped in. Both slices were delicious, friendly staff. i'd definitely be back if i'm in the area

I wasn't expecting such attentive and thoughtful service from this ocean side hole in the wall, but by the time I left I'd marked The Sauce Pizzeria as a must stop destination any time I'm hitting up the Jersey shore. For example, the cook could tell that we could handle real spice, so when we ordered a Spicy Diablo he said "If you want I'll make half of it with even more spice than what's on the menu". Boy did that spice deliver. It was the perfect way to warm up after coming in from the chilly beach. On a Detroit style pie, the Spicy Diablo has the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. If you are looking for sweet, get the "Gemini" pie. Don't be alarmed, it's not as sweet as dessert, but like biting into a fresh cherry tomato. It really works! Best part was that the owner says "I made your cheese pizza a little well done, so I'll give you another pie on the house". Just goes to show what an honest business it is, and I'm happy to remain a loyal customer for their kindness and generosity. The margarita was really interesting: the bottom was crusted with sesame seeds, which added a great flavor to the dish overall. I've never experienced this before. It's amazing to see a small pizza shop making some bold choices and redefining what a pizza can be, while still maintaining strong roots in traditional flavors. The magic truly is in "The Sauce"

Stopped in after a snow day, two great pies "The Gemini" & " Jersey Devil". Great owner, authentic spot with above average quality - must try ! Big reason why NJ Pizza is as good as it is, Barstool Dave would be all in.

Full vodka parm the size of my arm.

This spot is a small 4 table pizzeria. We ordered a gluten free pie, a regular, pepperoni square, and a vodka parm. Absolutely delicious.

Wrong appetizer delivered, setting back the dining experience 15 minutes. When the sausage and beans finally did arrived, we wished we had opted for the incorrect alternative initially delivered. Beans and sauce were very good, but the sweet sausage was dry, as if it spent the afternoon sunning under a heat lamp. Special tagliatelle was overcooked and the guanciale was crisped to the point of uncomfortable crunch. Risotto was the highlight, tasty and well prepared. Patio seating is very uncomfortable and reminiscent of the scene in Animal House where the Delta bros, in this case hostess, did a weed out on sight, separating those they connect with and sending the rest to the patio hinterland. Policy states inside seating is first come, first accommodated, but parties were clearly being seated in the patio despite suitable tables for the party size being available in the main dining room. Mediocre food led us to the decision to pass on desert. If your looking for elevated Italian, Anjelicas or Tramas are far superior choices. Dusals in Freehold is a better alternative for pasta and red sauce standards. Food level does not support the attitude of this establishment.

It had the feel of a Tuscan restaurant. The host, Oscar, is charming and attentive. After we were seated, our server, Enver, advised us to order all the food at once and he would figure out what to bring out as appetizers, and then after some time to digest, the main courses. This is what we ordered. Appetizers: Deep fried stuffed olives - very tasty Roasted peppers with ricotta - get this - amazing Meatballs with ricotta - delicious Main course: Tagliolini Al Forno - Very good but if we had to pick one thing to exclude out of all the things we ate, this would be it. Spicy Rigatoni - Not on the menu but knew about it through other reviews. It lives up to the hype. In addition to crushed red pepper there are minced hot peppers in the sauce. You can't come here and not get this. We shared everything and I recommend family style so you can taste as many things as possible. Another off menu item that people rave about is the eggplant parm but Enver said they only serve it for dinner. I will be back. PS - After our meal, we started chatting with Oscar and he pointed out that behind Anjelica's is a Squash and Swim Club. It has two indoor squash courts and indoor swimming pool that looks like something from the 19th century. Really cool and worth a look if you are there in the afternoon.
