Its pretty empty and quite here. There was only 6 tables all night during our visit on a Tuesday. I called to make reservations ahead of time to celebrate a birthday. I asked if i was allowed to bring my own cake and corkage. And i was told there is no corkage. To me, that meant, i can bring my own wine and there is no corkage fees. But apparently they dont allow us to bring wine which was announced to me after we were seated and i passed my server the wine i brought. He said he went to clarify with the manager that there is "no corkage". Me being so confused at this point.... But whatever. Food was pretty good. Servers weren't the friendliest. Nothing above and beyond to make my friend feel special celebrating her birthday there. Brought the bill at 9:36pm to tell me they've been closed for a while but google maps says they close at 10pm. I honestly would rather spend $800 having dinner somewhere i feel more welcomed.

It was a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The environment was very nice.

If you go with a big group, count on your food to be room temperature. Most of our group got the special, which was a prime rib and the only person who got a warm piece got theirs well done. Everyone's 16 oz prime rib also came out all different sizes .... Where's the consistency? Obviously if a majority orders the same meal, you would compare. Waiters were also bumping into us as we were seated. ..just really annoying when you're trying to enjoy your meal. No apology either.

Lambalicious! Lamb me up baby! I don't think lamb is ever a risky item to order. Lamb never disappoints. This was incredible. On top of that, service was LITERALLY perfection. Come here if you want to be served like royalty. I will be coming back for sure! Don't ask me about desert, I didn't think to take a photo. 5/5

77/100 This place is a classic. Old school high end steak house in the same vein as Peter's close by. I've got no complaints, the service is polite, the atmosphere and decor is vintage (maybe a bit dated, but well kept) and it's quiet enough to have a conversation without raising your voice. Most of all, they've got good steak. The bone in ribeye is 24oz and easy to share, the scallops are rather large and cooked pretty well. Dessert wise, their creme brule and their cheesecake are both good. It's simple, elegant, and the kind of place I would go to as a reward for a good job at school or something when I was younger.

Old school building turned steakhouse! Very cute interior decor. Fairly good menu selection (more than other steakhouses in the area) although quite traditional. The food was good quality and the service fantastic. The wait staff also put on a nice show if you order certain menu items such as their Caesar Salad or Specialty Dessert Coffees.

The school is not a place that would come to mind for most when they think of fine dining and Markham. I had heard about it for years but not been very interested until it was brought up in a conversation and was told you'd get a great meal out it. That being said, our family decided to go for my fathers' Birthday. The school is as elegant as it is traditional when it comes to fine dining experiences. As you enter the restaurant you are greeted by the Maitre d who collects your jacket for coat check. You are promptly guided towards your table in the dim lit room, renovated over from what I imagine was a 19th century home. When it comes to service they were considerate, helpful, and timely with bringing the orders to the table. However when it comes to fine dine food, I felt that the menu price did not reflect the effort of the dishes. That being said the quality of the food was not poor by any means but I could have had an amazing meal in the city for a similar price point. Maybe they like to stick to tradition of no fooling around food on a plate minimal presentation. Here's what we had: *To being they brought out pickled preserves and bread with oil; nothing out of the ordinary but a nice touch to start* Prosciutto wrapped Mozza (13$) - Three perfectly wrapped mozza prices drizzles with reduced balsamic. It was a delicious Italian rendition of fine ingredients blended together in a scrumptious gathering. Definitely a worth while dish for a small group to share. Lobster bisque with creme and congac (12$) - A simple yet delightful soup that was hearty but not over bearing with richness. Hard to taste the congac flavour but I guess i'll believe it's in there. Seared citrus Salmon fillet (35$) - My dad loves his fish so he went with this. The flavour of the fish was good and it was cooked well with a bit of rawness in the centre but felt that overall the dish sided with rice and a couple vegetables was overly simple. Seafod Linguini (42$) - With flavours of the sea like shrimp, lobster and scallop this dish pulled the ocean into a bowl with fresh pasta tossed in a light aioli sauce. Nothing over the top but the positives were the fish tasted fresh, lacking the fishy taste and served hot with the al dente pasta was a nice combination Veal Osso Bucco (45$) - Probably the most notable dish of the night. Combined with risotto and vegetables assorted, the meat fell right off the thick bone. The jus sauce was light and savoury and gave extra flavour to the meat and the risotto. The School is not a place I would go to often or consider again, my preferred experience would be something with a little more flare if I'm putting out that much money. Overall a fair meal but not something I would jump back to.

Lovely aristocratic interior and great service but their steak was a huge disappointment. I ordered the filet mignon and it came looking like a home cooked meal... On my plate had the steak, a plain baked potato, and ONE of each of a strip of pepper, carrot and bok choy. Please refer to my picture. For "fine dining" I just can't believe that is what came out of the kitchen. The sear was a bit too strong and it was not really medium rare as asked for, and I saw another person's steak they asked for medium and it looked more rare than mine etc.. I also had the lobster bisque which was nice how it came with big lobster chunks but I think their soup base is mixed with tomato cream soup a bit too much. Creme brûlée cheesecake was quite neat though.

Great service and beautiful ambience. If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or impress business partners in Markham, the School Fine Dining is a great place. What I've had: - Creamy lobster bisque w/ cognac - Bacon wrapped filet mignon - Peppercorn steak Highly recommend the bisque and peppercorn steak. The Peppercorn steak is flamed with cognac and they sear the steak right next to your table. So hey, you get a bit of a show going on. Couldn't get enough of the steak sauce! Some more comments: - Appetizers are yummy. Love the pickled assortment with mushrooms. - We were given a free Chocolate cake for my bf's birthday. So sweet of them. Cake was perfect.

Ambience: From the exterior, the restaurant looks like a cozy and intimate spot. As I entered, I noticed the décor is dated but that may be the vibe that they want to deliver. The dining room is dimly lit contributing to a romantic ambience. Service: Our server was attentive and friendly. The level of service is what you would expect from an upscale restaurant. Food: This is an upscale restaurant in Markham but the food was not what I expected from an upscale restaurant. I ordered a steak and it was very underwhelming. My steak was very average and I can get the same quality steak elsewhere at much lower prices. Overall: I ended the meal on a mediocre note. The food was extremely disappointing given the prices here.

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

The location on Unionville Main Street is also a big plus, and they have a really nice patio that would be perfect for dining outside when the weather is nice. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the mussels and octopus, and both were excellent. I especially love the charred flavour in the octopus. And the baguettes that came with the mussels are so addicting as well. Love the little kick in the broth! For our mains, we ordered the striploin and seafood risotto. The striploin was cooked perfectly and full of flavour, while the seafood risotto was creamy and packed with seafood. Our server was attentive, friendly, and very helpful with his recommendations. He gave us his honest opinion when we were deciding between the tenderloin and striploin. We ended up choosing to try more dishes instead of spending $185 on the bone-in tenderloin in the end. You'll need reservations here for sure and best to reserve a table not the day before otherwise they'll have bar tops available. They have a second floor for a more private dining which is nice for small groups or couples, the washrooms are downstairs, floors are slippery - be careful! When we got there we got to choose between the alcohol side or kitchen bar, we chose the alcohol bar side since the bartender Jasmine greeted me immediately and complimented my outfit. This is a pricey place, more a high end kind of restaurant so if you're looking for a cheaper place, don't go here obviously. Food was pretty decent with what we ordered. The only that didn't stand out whatsoever was the salmon. I've been to many high end restaurants and in other countries so salmon isn't much of a hit typically. They sold out of the bass fillet and the mussels (specials for the night/week - forgot what Jasmine said) so if you want to try these, order asap! Drinks were great! I asked for a Caesar as my second/third drink and wanted a specific amount of spice, Jasmine just came with the tabasco and put the amount I wanted, thank goodness! I feel like we definitely got the best service sitting by the drinks bar with Jasmine just genuinely kind and chatting with us. We had a great time and will definitely be coming here again.

Actually back in June when it was my birthday I had made the decision to come here or go to a Brazilian steakhouse. I did neither. Today however I decided that nothing would stop me I needed to learn if the rumour about Japanese wagu was true. The concept is that in the west we raise meat butcher it and sell it as is. In Japan they decided to selectively breed the meat to incorporate a more streamlined fatty deposit that not only brings flavour but tenderness. I knew I was going to pay a pretty penny. I opted out of the tenderloin and decided on a thin strip of sirloin steak as shown in the picture. At $56 it's the single most expensive piece of meat I've ever purchased. Make no mistake about it I knew I was getting f*cked but but I somehow didn't mind it when I paid. I didn't know if the owner was a man or woman so I'm not sure where the bulk of my money was going, whether it was to the store of Japan. Either way I was definitely fin-domed for those who know the crude terminally. The only question is: was it worth it? Well people say you should panfry for best flavour but I microwave over a Japanese curry csauce I got. I apologize if I dishonored you all through my cooking method. Anyhow the meat ended up being more tender and there was a more flavourful fatty profile but I did not but it didn't really melt in my mouth as reviews say (again microwave sorry). I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. I feel like any decent marbled fatty steak or ribeye could come close but the Wagu was special indeed, so Famu gets 5 stars

They are all about animals that are pasture or free-run, raised without chemicals, antibiotics, hormones or animal bi-products. We have had several great experiences with this shop since our first visit 9 months ago. Everyone in shop is very helpful and knowledgeable about all of the cuts they sell. Our first try of FãMu we purchased the A5 Wagyu Miyazaki Striploin. BBQ'd on the grill for 2 min on each side (as per the butchers recommendation), the cuts were bbq'd to perfection and just melted in our mouths. I have never eaten a steak anywhere that was so perfectly marbled and so tender. I would say it was easily one of the best steaks I have ever had! The next would be the Australian Wagyu Ribeye we picked up (15oz cuts). A little on the pricey side, but WOW, you get what you pay for and no better way to indulge in a perfect steak bbq. Some of the cuts of Japanese Wagyu they sell are: Kobe - A5 Kuromame Nagi - A5 Furano - A5 Miyazaki (Miyazakigyu)- A5 Hokkaido (Tokachi) - A5 Various Regions Of Japan - A4 Plus ~ Australian Wagyu, US Wagyu, Chicken, Berkshire Pork, Wagyu burgers and Wagyu slices for Sukiyaki Hot Pots and more! During 2 of our recent visits we also tried their Double Wagyu Beef Bowl. Thinly sliced pieces of Wagyu seasoned with in store made terriyaki/soy sauce over a bed of steamed rice. Small portion for the cost, but filling and THE most tender beef bowl you will ever try! Not sure about which cut to try, visit their website and you can get detailed info on each cut, you can also stop in and ask or order online. In shop everyone is very warm, friendly and happy to help if you have any questions.

The steaks are amazing and are moderately priced. The service is great, and the ambiance is warm semi-elegant, perfect for a business meal or a family gathering. You cannot go wrong with any of the NY striploin, filet or ribeye. If you want something different, try their baseball (which is very thick and lean) or the prime rib (with horseradish on the side.). All sides are good, especially baked potato, and my favourite roast veggies (drenched in butter, yum.). You may want to add some blue cheese on top of the steak, or some peppercorn sauce. You can add a one of the nice starter salads like Caesar or wedge of iceberg with blue cheese. The complimentary started bread is freshly baked and is delicious. Don't skip on the Billy Miner Pie ice-cream cake. The slice is big enough for two. I would usually give them a 5-star review but last night's meal at this particular location was a bit disappointing. Some of the steaks were overcooked. Prices are steeper. But more importantly, the lobster tail dinner was very bad. The lobster was not fresh and was cooked to death with unappetizing spices and way too much salt. In addition, the place was not super clean. It could use some better cleaning, and a little up-spruce.
