For more than a dozen years, this Markham spot has been known for good flavors and portions. The weekend brunch menu from 10am - 2:45pm had an assortment of creative dishes. We opted for their LA mac & cheese ($25) with a saucy cheese blend textured by herb crumbles. The soft shell crab benedict ($24) looked irresistible with two nicely poached eggs beside crab drizzled with maple buffalo hot sauce. While it came with no sides, bites of the whole fried soft shell crab on brioche toast were scrumptious. The inside of this restaurant is cavernous, featuring even a private room and patio. It's much larger than the dated plaza entrance would indicate. Staff were generally active at the tables, even delivering colour sheets to young ones. Skip it or hit it? Looked closed but once we walked in it was modern and had a beautiful decour. Quite a surprise from what you see from the parking lot. We can see why the place is so popular...outstanding and very pleasant servers who aimed to please. Food was fresh, plentiful and delicious. We ordered eggs and breakfast foods. Interesting that they serve breakfast and yet it opens at 11 AM. But it worked extremely well for us. By 11:30 half of the tables were occupied. It's been awhile since we've been back and certainly circumstances have changed! We saw they had a special for half off kids meals ($7) and decided to bring the family. We had made a reservation and our table was promptly ready (and set up with high chairs!) for us. We were given a corner spot which was amazing with young kids. The restaurant is relatively large so you don't feel like it's very noisy. Despite all the kids. lol. We ordered a Mac and cheese and a chicken fingers for the kids. It came with a drink (cranberry juice and milk). You could also upgrade your side to house salad or something else if you don't need all the fries. (You could even upgrade to a side Mac and cheese). There was a kids dessert menu (only $3 for half portion of the warm donuts!). The food was decent and very well portioned. I ordered for myself a mushroom pasta. It was vegetarian so I decided to add on so pulled beef brisket. It was an amazing combo. It was a wee bit on the pricier side given the add on. The only disappointment was they used to do the donuts in chocolate or caramel but they no longer offer that option. You could only get caramel on it (we aren't caramel fans). They were very busy as usual but lots of team work from staff, so no issues getting orders in and food brought out quickly. Kids pancake meal was perfect, the pancake was hot, fluffy, came with maple butter and drizzled with more maple syrup. We all eyed the kiddos plate hoping he would get full and need help polishing it off. The kids breakfast looked really big and filling. Two eggs, toast, protein of sausage or bacon and side of crispy taters. The brunch menu looked amazing so we ordered a few to sample for the table. Banana bread French toast which had a slight crunch on the outside but super moist on the inside. This was more dessert than brunch with the fresh berries, syrup and icing sugar dusting. If you like banana bread, then it's a no brainer. BBQ brisket hash on potatoes was perfectly saucy, sweet Smokey bbq, runny eggs mixing into a beautiful mess of flavours on each forkful. Mac and cheese order is a must and even at a large size it disappeared easily. The pasta was al dente and the creamy sauce just perfectly coated each bite. Something on the menu for everyone to enjoy. I've tried the fish and chips, the salmon dish, Mac and cheese, and burger. Everything was delicious! Great drink selection as well. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating. Great place for large group gatherings. They have rooms that can separate your group from the rest of the restaurant which is nice. The volume of the music is enough to kill awkward silence but soft enough to encourage easy conversation. I've also attended 2 occasions here where the entire restaurant was reserved for these private events. Each time the bar tenders are very accommodating and considerate as were all the staff. Thought I'd come back to check it out after not visiting for years. Came for brunch/ lunch time and had a reservations - was seated promptly. Our server throughout our dining experience was great and accommodating, food on the other hand was okay for us, nothing really stood out. Poutine 2/5 - Got 2 poutines for the table to share. Unfortunately, both poutine had really cold cheese curds, to the point where the gravy did not melt any of the cheese at all. When you get a full bite of all the ingredients together, you get a weird mix of hot fries and freezing cold cheese in your mouth. Flagged this with our server, and asked for extra hot gravy to be brought out to try to help melt the cheese a bit. Gravy was brought out but still lukewarm at best. Omelette with homefries 3.5/5 - A great egg option if you're looking for something lighter. Home fries were good and crisp. Chicken and pancakes 3/5 - Crispy chicken pieces with 3 pancakes. A good mix of sweet and savoury. Fried chicken sandwich 4/5 - One of the better options on the menu imo. It comes with a mountain high pile of fried chicken between brioche buns. Came with pickles and slaw. Overall, there's a lot of hit or misses with their dishes. Some good, some just okay. Definitely think they could improve on some of their flavours. read more

But it's pretty open on the weekend especially at brunch The inside: It's pretty nice. Don't judge it by the plaza. You walk in and it's open and bustling but not crowded There's tables, their seats at a bar and then there's a high table with those high chairs. There's also a private room that you can request. I never have so I don't know if there's a fee or a minimum for it . Oh they also have a patio in the back. It's covered. I never set out there because I'm not in a real big fan of sitting outside and eating in the heat but if you are I could tell that this is a good one. The menu: The food's pretty good. It's a sister restaurant to my favourite restaurant in York region (next door restaurant) The food is diverse. But still kind of in the same vein. I've never had anything that I didn't like here. I tend to get the burger a lot because I know when they first open they were known for their burgers and this is where we would always come when we wanted a good one. And they're always good. I came the other day for brunch and oh my god it was so good. I didn't realize they were open for brunch on Sundays. I got this egger and cheese sandwich and you could add either bacon or hamburger patty so I added a hamburger patty and it was ridiculously delicious. It was served with home fries which as well were very good. I did get a Caesar, I love Caesars, wasn't my favourite. But judging by the amount of Caesars that were being handed out that day everyone else loved it. The staff: They're nice. I like that they know to leave you alone when you're with a group of people talking and eating. They checked in on us just the right amount of time. The cost. With the pork belly being my number one, very tasty and I'd come back for it. The fish was good, standard but satisfying. The shrimp taco was ok with a little heat but lack lustre for my taste buds. There's no menu to show the 3 available taco types so ask for the ones you want - menu only says taco and price without stating what specific tacos and the waitress back and forth confirming. Red or white sangria were also $6 a glass. We only had the white. We were happy with it. Overall it was a good time and decent deal. What I do like about their patio is that it's enclosed with screen so there are no flies during our meal. You get the inside/outside feel. read more

Came back for brunch w/ my gf because we had a great dinner experience previously. I had made the reservation online on touchbistro and the dropdown menu had forced me to select "patio". When I arrived, I told the staff at the front that we preferred to dine inside (seeing as there were a lot of empty tables) and they gladly obliged. We got bbq brisket hash and mac n' cheese. The hash had this really nice sauce slathered on top. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The brisket was moist and pulled apart easily. Runny poached egg on top was fantastic. The mac n' cheese used the fancier curly noodles as opposed to regular elbow macaroni. The cheese sauce was seasoned well and the breadcrumb topping was not overcooked which was great (you would not believe how common overcooked breadcrumb topping is and it can actually dry out the pasta underneath). We got grilled chicken as an add-on and while it was juicy and tasted great, the portion of chicken was quite stingy for what we paid (we only got like 5 pieces). Very good quality brunch! BBQ beef and hash - Portion was massive as it was rather hard to finish. The dish came with alot of sauce which IMO made it better for the beef, but more heavy for the hash. The poached egg was a good addition as it made it everything more moist. Ultimately, the dish was a bit too heavy for me and would steer clear of this next time. Servers were super friendly and helpful even though it was a pretty busy night! We asked for a table near an outlet and they helped us out. It does get a bit loud at times due to the music, big groups, and TV. I saw some people on their laptops at the bar doing work so that doesn't seem to be a problem! We ended up going with the BBQ Beef Croquettes, the Fish Tacos, and the Calamari. The BBQ Beef Croquettes were a 4/5, they had pretty good flavour but in my opinion I probably would have preferred the mini Mac & Cheese. The Fish Tacos were excellent (5/5), with HUGE pieces of battered fish that were delightfully crispy! I'm a big fan of fish tacos and these were some of the best I've had. The Calamari (5/5) was amazing too, and were breaded, flavourful, and perfect with a drizzle of lemon. I was surprised to see how much calamari was included. It's honestly a great deal for $10! Definitely will be coming here sometime again for another happy hour snack - maybe with some of their $6 sangrias! There was only two of us, and this was definitely too much food. They're all pretty heavy items so that may have been the reason too. Three items would probably suffice. If I were to come again for the happy hour, I would get the bbq beef croquettes and fish tacos. If I could eat more, I'd try the whole happy hour menu. I got their Caesar, and it was tasty, but definitely spicy. If you want even more kick, eat the pepper at the end of it... I made the mistake of doing so and my stomach was on fire. I was invited to a company Xmas party. This trendy restaurant is serving up comfort dishes and some bar favourites. The atmosphere here was intimate and at the same time fun. There were a few Xmas parties going on here. We had the private room right beside the front entrance. The set menu had plenty of options for everyone. I went with the following order. 1. Bbq beef croquettes 2. Steak Frites 3. Cathy's Warm Banana Chocolate cake 4. Coconut margarita The beef croquettes were crispy on the outside and the shaved pulled beef brisket was tender and juicy inside. There was dijon aioli dipping sauce which really complimented the croquettes. The steak frites had a large serving of truffle fries with parmesan cheese? Roasted garlic and aioli and the steak had a salsa verde sauce on top. The fries were a bit salty with the parmesan and garlic aioli. The steak was cooked medium rare however the steak was sitting a bit too long the meat wasn't hot. Overall the dish was very good but I guess the kitchen couldn't maintain consistency due to larger group of orders. The dessert was a banana chocolate cake warmed up and served with dulce de leche and vanilla ice cream on the side. The serving size was definitely shareable for future reference. Overall the dinner was great and the servers were all friendly and polite. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time to ensure you get a table. It was relatively busy on a Thursday night. I came by for a Sunday brunch with some friends. They have online reservations so the process was quick and easy. I had originally reserved for a party of 8 and was unable to change to 6 within the system, but I sent a message and the team was able to help me out. I got the Brunch Mac & Cheese, which added breakfast sausage, bacon, pico de gallo, and a sunny side up egg alongside the pasta and cheesy goodness. I appreciate it being presented in the skillet to ensure it arrives HOT! This was definitely filling portion wise, but surprisingly did not leave me feeling overloaded by the cheese. But I would order it again because of the fish. Maybe I would replace the fries with a substitute side. It also came with a creamy coleslaw that had a great tang to it.
