I had a small(14"x40") laundry room screen that did not survive this past winter. I went to Dale Hardware to find out they have stopped repairing window screens. Their staff sent me to The Screen Factory and I am very pleased with the work. Gary told me it would be done in a week and it was actually ready in six days. I took the screen off my window, took it to their shop on Peralta(for some reason the store's sign also says The Color Factory), he measured it and quoted me a price of $28, which I thought reasonable. Recently had my screen door replaced by Brian and the entire process was excellent and priced very reasonably. My screen door was old, thin, and poor quality with the mesh pushed through because of my small dog. I was able to get a much sturdier frame with a pet guard on it and I'm now able to enjoy a screen door for when it gets hot indoors. Best of all, my dog no longer jumps/paws against the screen because he doesn't like the sound of the metal pet guard so he just sits patiently outside when he wants to come in now. I requested quotes from a few other places locally and these guys not only were way more responsive, but they were better priced and actually came out quicker than they projected. Being stuck working from home during warm weather was the worst so I decided to finally have both my sliding screen doors replaced. My original ones barely kept out bugs and would constantly fall off the track. After doing a lot of research and reaching out to mobile screen services (which all were grossly over priced in my Hayward area) I decided to go with the Screen factory because not only were they the best priced (even including the $70 home service fee) but they were in the screen business the longest, 30 years. My first scheduled appointment consisted of measurements. Afterwards the proper screens were ordered and cut to my specs (took about 10 days) and then installed & adjusted. I can now enjoy fresh air while at home with a properly locking screen door that keeps out bugs. I wish I had done this sooner! FYI: since I had this done during the lockdown the technician came wearing face mask and shoe booties. Extremely appreciated! read more

We got a new sliding back door installed in our house several years ago, by a lousy company who I won't bother naming. One thing that *never* worked well was the sliding screen door that went with it; it's always been rather 'sticky', and didn't really like to open/close. It's been getting worse over the years, and we've been very frustrated with it. I tried fixing it myself, using youtube videos as reference, but I clearly don't understand the magic touch. It requires adjusting these four screws on the edges of the door, and I just don't get it... So this time I wanted someone who knew what they were doing... and these guys definitely are those people!! The owner actually didn't want to send someone out for this, saying 'it's going to cost you at least $40, and you can just do it yourself', but I wanted someone who knew what they were doing - and the man that came out definitely did! He took the door out, cleaned out the door guides, then put it back in and adjusted everything correctly... something that even the original installers did not do. Now it works wonderfully !! Excellent friendly over-the-phone and in-person customer service. Even re-installed our sliding door screen properly for free. Prices for re-screening and replacing beat other places I called first to get estimates by 10-15%. Note that there is a $35 fee for the guy to come out to your house to evaluate the condition of your screens and to take measurements, but The Screen Factory still offers the best price. The quality of the window screens is top notch: they're very sturdy and match our windows perfectly in color and fit. I know they'll last a long time. I'm glad they're in our neighborhood. Even the screens where the frames were bent out of shape and I thought needed to be replaced, they just repaired it. The only difference between this time and last time was that this time they charge a $55 diagnostic fee when they come out to measure. It makes sense since labor cost has gone up so much since a few years ago. read more

The Feline of the House destroyed my patio screen door.... but the Screen Factory came to the rescue, and did a beautiful job of restoring it. And when we wanted a screen door for the exit from our garage to the garden, we called them again. The screen door was a special order, and when it arrived, it turned out the fabricator had made a beautiful door.... but they'd messed up the order and it was the wrong size. :( And that error was most definitely NOT the fault of the Screen Factory. So, back to square one; the second time around, the Screen Factory measured it before calling me to say it was in, and this time was the correct size. And in the meantime, we were kept in the loop, so we knew when we could expect the door. The gentleman who installed it was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable and did a great job of making sure it was installed perfectly. Unlike some contractors I've dealt with in the past, he made sure everything was cleaned up before he left. And the door? It looks great. They're really worth 5 stars but the delay caused by the wrong-sized door being delivered was a bit inconvenient. read more

Excellent service, pricing was totally reasonable, measurement visit was prompt and delivery of the finished screens exactly as promised. They didn't try to push "upsells" on us. To the contrary - even though we fully expected to have to replace all the frames (which had been on the house for more than 15 years), they told us that most of the frames were perfectly good and could be rescreened. It may be that there are less expensive screen companies, but I don't care. I had absolutely no complaints and I'm persnickety about service. I wish all home contractors were of this caliber. The owner put a rush on my order at no extra cost to get them done before Memorial Day. The screens came out perfect and fit perfectly. All at a very reasonable price. They said it was used but it was in perfect working order. They sold it to me for a very reasonable price (I have since found it on Amazon for far more money).
