With temperatures running to mid nineties, our patio sliding door dual pane glass panel decided to fall out. Literally fall out with a bang and fall flat on the patio. I somehow picked it up, slid it back in place and duct-taped it to the frame. We called a few places in panic, most went to VM. Paul picked up and said he can send someone next morning. I had the pleasure of visiting Roadrunner Glass at the end of October when I first moved into the new place in Milpitas. Pleasure? Glass? That's usually not a term someone might utter when talking about glass, but the employees were so friendly and helpful that it really was a pleasure to be there. I needed to get some glass cut for shelves to fit the two vanities in the bathrooms of the new place. I measured an existing piece, told them what I was looking for, and they recommended the best thickness and type of glass. They found the glass I needed and cut it on the spot. They even rounded the edges so that I didn't cut myself, and the person I worked with was so careful, that he redid a piece because he didn't think it was smoothed out enough. All for a very reasonable price. If I ever need to get a piece of glass cut for anything else, I'll certainly give Roadrunner Glass my business again. Thanks! read more

My housekeeper broke my shower doors and I called Road Runner Glass. Paul was super nice and professional and so was Richard. My previous contractor installed a poor job on my shower tub doors two years ago and Paul and Richard were very careful removing them without breaking my tiles. Paul came out to do the measurements, ordered the glass doors, and installed the doors within two weeks. They did an excellent job. Note: if you use Lowes, they also contracted out to Road Runner Glass. My husband tried to use Lowes before I called RRG and I had to cancel with Lowes after. Highly recommend RRG to anyone. I've called a couple handymen to adjust my sliding door and nobody was able to fix it. One guy even claimed that my sliding door was uneven in the middle so that was the reason it was stuck. Flabbergasted, I called Roadrunner to see if they can tell me what the problem was or to give me a quote to replace the door. Roadrunner actually took the door off to check the rollers on the bottom. Sure enough, the rollers are damaged. They ordered a replacement and the door is sliding pretty well now. They also cut out the old caulk and re-caulked my door for the slight leak in heavy rain. I should've just called these guys first instead of wasting time and money on people who don't know what they're doing. They could've just told me to replace the door which would've ended up costing me thousands. Instead they offered the easier and cheaper fix. These guys are pros and they're also an honest business. I'm glad I called them. I will give them 5 stars after the rainy season if I can confirm that the caulking has actually fixed the slow leak. read more

These guys have been doing work for us for a couple decades. They've done both big and little jobs: 1) Replaced a broken window. 2) Replaced half of our old aluminum windows with beautiful new Milgaard double-paned windows. 3) Created a very large beveled mirror for my newly renovated bathroom. 4) Installed another large mirror for my other renovated bathroom. 5) Installed mirror doors for a bedroom. 6) Replaced the other half of our old windows with new double-pane ones. 7) Created a very specific size and color piece of glass to cover an antique chest that my dad brought back from China about 80 years ago. Wow - I'm a patient guy and I don't know, is it my bad for believing the process described by Surane? I was told mirrors would be manufactured or produced after measurements in 3-4 days then the installation would be arranged in the few days afterward. I called to follow up a week after the measurements and then today 13 days after I received the quote and I'm told the step to even order the mirrors had not been done. They never took initiative to update me on their own even once. Maybe $800 of mirrors is chump change for them, but I needed them desperately for a rental renovation. I was already in all this time. Do I still go with them now that I am promised a priority? I'm already into it more than 2 weeks. Sorry, it hurts my timing and bottom line, but I can't support a business that operates this way. OK, their service and price are fine. They do repair my broken glass door quickly and install it on the same day. The reason they do not get 4+ stars is their attitude of GREEDY. Here's the story, I made an appointment, the owner will show up between 12-1PM on Friday. He showed up early at 11:20AM with no phone calls telling us he'll be here early. (it turns out they have the wrong phone # on file, but that should not be my fault) Why it's a problem showing up early? because my wife has to pick up my 3 yrs old from preschool at 11:30AM. We want to get an estimate on two things, 1. broken glass door, 2. broken screen door frame. But there's not enough communication because my wife was in a hurry, the owner just took the broken glass door back to his shop without even giving my wife an estimate. He fixed item 1 and later send us a bill of item 1 and an estimate of item 2. The charges of item 1 and estimate of item 2 are basically the same. So it looks to me it's the minimum labor charge which I understand. Then I called back explain the situation, speaking calmly and nicely. I didn't try to blame them why they came early, I just asked if things could have been done differently (i.e. we get quote for two items at the same time), would the price be cheaper? The lady said "yes, it might be", but she ask to ask her boss. In the end, the lady called back and said her boss said NO. OK, great, now I know how greedy you are as a service provider... thanks a million !! read more

Placed an order for a tabletop glass. They committed to have it no later than noon three day after pacing the order. Roadrunner have taken a deposit t ensure the transaction. I made arrangement for a truck to deliver it to my home. Roadrunner never got it done made many excuses, made me cal every 15 minutes to check on the status but never had an answer when it will be ready. Three hours passed the committed delivery time they told me that it will be ready the following day. I lost half a day of work had to pay for the pickup truck and cancel the order. To add insult to injury, Roadrunner refused to return my deposit. will NEVER do business with them again!!! read more

Great overall service. Called on Mon and get my patio glass door fixed by Wed. They have 3 branches - I used the Milpitas one. Guess customers like them enough to have 3 locations. Friendly and will email u a quote too. They cleaned up after themselves - with a vacuum and broom. They didn't rush to leave when paid, but made sure to cleanup. Did 4 stars instead of 5, due to the verbal quote being different from the paper estimate (which was higher by $100). Maybe I didn't hear it right? But they are comparable in pricing (although the verbal quote would have been really great !). I recommend them, and I would use them again ! read more

I have a massive 5 foot wide sliding back door that was extremely hard to open and close. The usual company I use took two weeks to come out and give me an estimate and because it was so big, they wouldn't even touch it without additional help. They gave me another two weeks to wait before they would come back out. Called Roadrunner and they were at my house in a couple of days. The first visit, they took out the door, looked at the rollers, did some cleanup (which helped a little) and put the door back with an estimate that was $100 less than the first company. The rollers came in after four days. The door was fixed the next day. Still within the two weeks of the other company and cheaper. The door is opens and closes great now and I would definitely use this company in the future for repairs. read more

I bought a small piece of clear glass and one would think this would be an easy job for a glass shop to cut a simple rectangular glass, but no, it was tapered so the corners are not perfect squares. I would not trust them to do anything if they cannot even make an extremely simple glass cut. Stay away from this shop, there are plenty more other options out there. read more
