What a nice little spot to escape the madness of Niagara Falls tourism. There is a cute patio outside that accommodated our large party. The inside does have seating but it isn't huge. Our waitress was quick to great us and provide water while we decided on our choices. They do have several local craft brews available which were delicious to try. Our meals came out quick. They were able to get the kids served first which is always a big help! The kids menu was super cute offering the choice of a drink, entree, and dessert for one price. We ordered wings and poutine. The buffalo blue wings had great flavor (even if the wings were a bit smaller than we are used to). Others ordered wraps, chicken tender, and burgers...all of which were quite good! read more

This place is dirty , rude and the one item I bought here which was fish smelt so bad I would say it had gone bad. The first time I stood in the building to get a table there is one place to stand. During this all I got was dirty looks and no one asking me if I needed help. I turned away and said looks like you don't want me here. Did I come to this restaurant because it's called Scuttlebutt? Yes, yes I did, because deep down I'm 6 and it made me giggle a little bit. Anyways, I stopped by Scuttlebutt Tap & Eatery on Saturday afternoon thanks to some solid yelp reviews and some random exploring of Fort Erie. The place itself has some small patio seating, bar seating, and table seating to fit a good amount of people in. The place mostly had people sitting at the bar when we came in but the employee working gave us some menus, waters, and was helpful and quick throughout our visit. The menu here is pretty basic for a tap style eatery like this offering plenty of burgers, salads, wraps, sides, and all that jazz. I ordered the Bison burger, but sadly they did not have any so I settled on getting the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Even though I was pretty dissapointed about the burger (I've been craving a bison burger for the longest time) it wasn't something I would complain over, things happen and there's no reason to make a fuss. We also got an order of the onion ring as an appetizer thanks to previous Yelpers uploading some extremely appealing photos of them. The food didn't take all that long to come out and before you know it I was sinking my teeth into an absolutely delicious buffalo chicken wrap. They did not hold back on the sauce, the chicken was tender and flavourful, and the onion rings get a crunchy, tasty, A+ from me. Overall, this is a great little place to stop and grab a bite in Fort Erie. The staff was friendly, the crowd was friendly, and the food was good. What else can you ask for? read more

This place was great. We decided to do a nice Sunday drive out towards Fort Eerie. We Yelp'd when it was time for lunch and were directed here. No regrets. From the moment we pulled in you can tell this is a locals place. We were confused where the door was and a nice Patron came out and showed us! The bar was packed full of regulars all chatting and having a good time. They even chatted to us. Super friendly place. We ordered several items off the smaller bar snacks menu just so we could try a variety of stuff. We were not disappointed at all. Everything was priced on the lower end but they didn't compromise on quality. If you are in area drop in I doubt you would be disappointed. Tasty food, cozy atmosphere, the best coleslaw I have ever tried anywhere (even my 6 year old loved it). Personal recommendations: escargot, onion rings, broasted chicken dinner of any size, and we took another large coleslaw as a take out. May 6 2017 Have driven by this place dozens of times on the way home from Sherkston. This time we dropped in and were thrilled at the lunch we had. I had the Beef on Weck. Great roasted beef on a nice bun with Horseradish sauce and Grainy Dijon. Fantastic. My wife had the Scuttlebutt Burger. A lovely homemade burger with fried onions and Blue cheese. This place rarely disappoints. A friend and I attended this restaurant a few days back; and boy, were we hungry. I ordered a chicken wrap, and a burger. The chicken wrap was absolutely incredible. I've actually questioned myself if I've ever had better. The burger was pretty standard, obviously home cooked though (thick patty) I made the error of not adding bacon or cheese. The prices here are very reasonable, and the quality of food keeps us coming back. The only minor set back was a bit of a wait. However, the place was packed (long weekend) and they only have one cook to my belief. Overall, it was a great experience, and well worth the wait. read more

We have ordered take out a during the pandemic and everything they make is fabulous. Christine the owner is a sweetheart and the kitchen staff is second to none. 3.5*. There's nothing really wrong with Scuttlebutt... But come on people. It's as good as any restaurant who named itself Scuttlebutt might be. It's what your super white Aunt Patty who lives in small town Ontario might consider a great restaurant. The escargot were tasty but anything is tasty when smothered with that much butter and cheese. Not really the best way for escargot to be enjoyed. I had the steak and it was... Fine. I should say I was impressed the steamed vegetables that came with it had great colour and were clearly fresh. At a place like this, I usually expect those crinkle cut carrot slices but these were clearly not frozen and I respect that. All in all, I'd visit Scuttlebutt again if I was in the area but mostly because the area is a restaurant wasteland. I guess restaurant ratings are all context sometimes, right? read more

Scuttlebutt is amazing!! I highly recommend the fish, breaded. (I am gluten free and they divinely make it gluten free for me which is such a treat!). It is beyond delicious. Piping hot fries and fresh and tasty cole slaw top it off. We live in Toronto and cottage nearby, but always make time for Scuttlebutt whether we are coming or going. This is the divey little Cheers of the Niagara Falls region; everyone was a local but us, we caught up on local gossip (the Scuttlebutt, literally), and at one point the group at the bar actually broke into song :-). We went to Scuttlebutt for a late lunch on Sunday. We were greeted by the waitress outside and chose our table on the patio. It was comfortable out there. it had pillows and blankets, as well as a fireplace and outdoor heater for the colder nights. There seemed to be good air conditioning inside. There is a bar inside. The waitress was fast and courteous. Our drink orders came quickly. Our wait for the food was about 15 minutes with a 3/4 full patio and a few tables full inside. I had the burger and fries. It was the usual spiced meat patty on a tasty toasted bun with relish, pickle, lettuce, tomato and onion. It was juicy and tasty. My husband had the Scuttle burger - the same burger with blue cheese and grilled onions. He ate it all and liked it. My 10-year-old son had the sausage on a bun. It had cheese, fried peppers and onions on it. He'd never had such a meal before. It wasn't spicy and he liked it. I also tasted the sausage and it was nicely flavored. The menu says all of the food items are prepared there. I'm not sure we explored enough of the menu to report on the home cooked aspect. There were soups and salads and desserts that we didn't try. What we did have was tasty and filling. We would return for the food and the atmosphere. Also to try something different next time. read more

We drove by this lovely spot early in the morning on our way to a flea market and it looked so cool we went back for a late night snack. Best thing we did on our vacation. The food, service and atmosphere were perfect after a long hot day of our travels. Do yourself a favor and get away from the tourist traps and eat here. You'll feel like your home. Food was good, it was very busy in spite of the early time we went for dinner. Server was overwhelmed and didn't refill our water glasses. But regardless of that we are glad we went to this local spot. It is definately a place the locals gather for food, conversation and drink.
