YES, they DID look at it. Want to know how I know? I found deep grinder cuts into a brand new axle, hidden by the bearing and retainer. Presumably where they cut off the old bearing & retainer. This brings into question why they would have to cut off a brand new bearing they installed a week prior? Yeah, take a look at the pictures of their grinder cuts. Ordered a ring and pinion gear set through JEGS. Shipping of the product was from one of Randy's Ring & Pinion warehouses in Texas, not JEGS. I received the completely wrong part, which was a chrome differential cover for an AMC. I got it taken care of through JEGS but wait there's more. This time I ordered two-day shipping. Next day i called up the manufacture, instead of JEGS, asking if the part had even shipped. The CS woman was trying to hide her rudeness, asking me to call JEGS instead. Anyway, almost two days later the part finally ships out. I purchased it Tuesday morning and it is scheduled to arrive Saturday. So much for two-day shipping. read more

placed a order at night on Tuesday 8/17/21. I paid for 2 day shipping Expecting my customers item to arrive around the 20th. I contacted them when I realized my item hasn't shipped out in a timely manner and voiced my concern they told me that my item would not be arriving until Monday 8/23/21. I explain to them that I'm supposed to be receiving my package in two days like I paid for and they tried to tell me they didn't receive my order for day later I provided receipts from my PayPal and my bank account showing that I placed the order on the 17th and not the night of the 18th. upon receiving an email last night 8/19/21 that it shipped 8/18/21 and they gave a faulty tracking number. I informed them that they gave me a faulty tracking number and they just blamed it on FedEx and never gave me my tracking number. now I understand things arent always perfect but when I pay over $50 for two day shipping and my item doesn't ship out until a day and a half after I ordered it and my delivery date isn't for 5 to 6 days after I place my order that's a little bit aggravating my customer was supposed to be going to see family in Colorado this week and had to cancel his trip due to his differential being taken apart waiting for these parts that where supposed to arrive today 8/20/21. read more

I had the rear end in my 95 Mustang GT rebuilt here. I purchased a new track lok, gears, axles, bearings, etc online and dropped them off with the car on Christmas Eve. To my surprise they called me a few days later with the job done! Gave me a detailed break in protocol and even saved my royal purple differential fluid. He said as the break in is 500 miles might as well save that for afterwards given the cost. I'm well passed the break in period now and this thing is a different animal. Absolutely no issues or noises and I've enjoyed my share of burn outs! I had also got several quotes from around the puget sound area. It was a 90 minute drive (one way) to pick up a part needed for an auto repair shop in Auburn. When I got there, I was already stressed from the horrible morning traffic on I-405. Yesterday February 12th I talked to Jay about two front axles for my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. Jay informed me that the warehouse was closed because of the snow but he would try and help me get the axles for my truck. He called me back three time keeping me updated throughout the morning and the last time to let me know that he was able to get my axles out of the warehouse. Pricing was a major factor as the dealer informed me it was $1000 per axle and Randy's was $390 and $388, why call the dealer!!!!! Their warranty is junk I've bought thousands yes thousands of dollars worth of gears and axle parts for them. And they denied any refund or warranty to an axle that lost its hard facing that rides on a bearing. Telling me it was over loaded or not lubricated. The bearing was still perfect. The way they are set up now, I can't just walk in and buy the part I needed. have to call them, try to explain what I need then pay for it before I even see it.. I want to be able to walk I and talk to someone maybe bring in my old part to compare... I don't like their operation now. Customer service was not the greatest. I got the wrong part and they wanted a $200 restocking fee! and I explained I would just like to exchange it and they lowered the restocking fee. I used to build diffs for a living and getting a wrong part once is a while goes with the job. So I ordered the parts I needed from Summit. They don't hassle me when I try and return somthing. Absolutely horrible when it came to receiving parts ordered on line. I ordered clutch kit for trac-lok dodge 9.25 rear end and what arrived was clutches for a different rearend, the sales person was very knowledgeable got me the right clutches a week later. On my second project dodge 9.25 rear ordered a side gear and pinion gear kit but the kit arrived with no thrust washers for the gears, called back and was told thrust was will be shipped out asap, but what arrived again was a single side gear thrust washer. I am definitely not doing business with these guys again. While the Staff seems very knowledgeable the orders seems to get messed up. read more

Poor customer service. I wanted a set of 4:56 gears for a D44 and a Ford 9" and I also wanted a set of chromoly axle shafts for the D44. They had the gears in stock but they told me that nobody made chromoly axle shafts for my 81' F150. The guy on the phone wasn't professional at all and was obviously bothered that he had to take my call. After I got off the phone with them I called Bronco Graveyard and they said they had chromoly axle shafts in stock. I ordered the shafts from them but still bought the gears from Rany's because they were local. When I picked up the gears at Randy's I told the guy at the counter about buying some shafts from Bronco Graveyard and he asked why I didn't buy them from Randy's. I told them that the guy I talked to said nobody makes chromoly shafts for that truck. He laughed and said that Yukon makes them and they had them in stock. He then said sometimes the salesman are too lazy to get up and look to see if they have the parts in stock or not. I thought the whole experience was kinda weird and unprofessional. I would assume that Randy's sales people don't have to physically get up, go to the warehouse and see what they have in stock. I would hope they would have a system in place so that nobody has to go look to see what they have in stock. The place is huge and that would seem very counter productive. I would still buy from them because they are local but honestly, there's really no other place to go. read more

Experts in their business no doubt and very affordable for large scale projects. They swapped my ring and pinion for less than Olympic 4x4 would have (which is truly saying something). Their quote on a simple pinion seal replacement however was astronomical. They said to do it right they had to take it all apart. And that quote was 4-5x the amount that of the dealership. I'm not saying that the dealership did it perfect but the seal hasn't leaked since and even if it would have I could have done it 4 more times at cost. read more

These guys are great. I got a ring and pinion for my '39 Chrysler New Yorker, as the rear end was rumbling like crazy. They gave me a bid which was really reasonable. I took the 3rd member in to them. Then they had to get the flange for the pinion seal turned down and the bid was still the same. I brought it home, installed it in the car and it is perfect. Thanks! I brought in a diffrential for my truck and told them I wanted to add an LSD to my ten bolt. They would not give me a written for sure price for the work till i brought in my diff, saying they "need to look it over" so I brought it and not more than an hour later they called and qouted me about 1100 for the job and I know they didnt take it apart then cause a couple days later they called and said I needed a new pinion yoke since my old one is ridged so that added 118 to the price so much for my qoute. Needless to say they are very pushy towards thier home brand yukon and kept trying to get me thier dura locker, I told them I wanted a detroit true track and that should be the end of it. He told me I need 30 spline axles for it and I told him I will acquire (this is on tuesday btw) some so I did and dropped them of thursday morning hoping that by now The pinion depth haz been set and they just need to throw in axles... Nope Hasnt been touched. Today is monday they said again it would be done monday and I call " it will be done tuesday afternoon they say'' This is a three day project tops i know the process but dont have the tools to do this myself. BUYER BEWARE!! they do not stand behind their product had a bearing installed by our mechanic that has been doing this for years and is even a customer of theirs he said bearing was defective but upon removing the bearing it got dinked up, Randy's now says it not going to refund our money in which we spent over $900.00 for the rebuild kit and another $157.00 for another bearing plus all of the shipping charges, will tell all our Jeep friends plus we have 4 jeeps and rebuilding another. read more

I would never buy anything from these guys again. Let me start my disaster. I ordered 2 sets of 4.88 gears for a Wrangler. When they came in I checked the boxes to make sure the were correct but what I didn't do was check the actual parts inside the boxes which is probably partially my fault but I really shouldn't have to do this. I started to take the rear ends apart, I finished the front and when I got to the rear the gears that were in the box were incorrect but the box said the gears were right. I called and told them about it and they said sorry will ship out the correct gears, so the guy says we don't have anymore of those gears, to fit your carrier so I winded up ordering a $800 new carrier so I could get the size gear that I needed.Mind you the jeep is on the lift now and can't be moved because the rear is pulled apart.Waited til the morning. Parts come and we start to install the new carrier(Locker) with new gear set come to find out the Carrier is defective. Call them once again, they said can you please send me a picture of the carrier( like they don't know what it looks like) the problem was the bearing just dropped onto the carrier when there supposed to be pressed on. He says so sorry I'll get back to you within the hour. Calls me back and says were going to have to send you a new one and we just checked a another carrier(Locker) and the bearing will have be be pressed on , this one is ok and will have it to you in the morning. Now the jeep is still on the lift. 2 days lost work lift all tied up. I called him to tell him that I didn't need the compressor that I ordered from them I would like to return it, he turns around and tells me there will be a 15% restocking fee for the return. I just hung the phone up on them. This is the thanks you get after spending over $2000 with them and loosing 2 days of work on my business lift.
